  1. HI,

I recently got a new job, just have not started just yet. They presented me with an offer, including date, nature of employment, and starting salary in a formal letter. Is this document sufficient enough to present to the consulate? Or must I ask for another statement regarding employment. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You can present anything you want to the Consulate. The letter will speak for itself. Whether it will be of any use to you will depend on what other evidence you have to convince the officer your fiance won't become a public charge.

In short, you haven't provided enough information to get a useful answer. As a result, your question itself has little meaning.

In short, your wrong! I got my useful answer. What I meant to ask was, "Can the offer letter be a subsitute for the statement of your employer?" Straighttalk??? More like Whatyoutalkingabout!

  2. Kitkat1 has some good advice. Owning a home is not important as long as you can make enough income (25% above poverty level) to support your fiancee. USCIS and the Embassy do not care that you live in an apartment, with your brother or with your parents.

I think you have some good ideas about waiting to buy a house so she can have a say in it. Sounds like you need to convince your fiancee they are good ideas too, and calm her down a bit.

After your petition lleaves the NVC, it should get to Manilla. If they are similar to New Delhi, they will issue Packet 3 to your fiancee. After she follows the instructions and sends back the required documentation, then they will schedule and Interview and let you know via packet 4. This process takes from weeks to months, depending on the Embassy.

    Best of luck!

Thanks, guys....Yeah I need to calm her down.

  3. Why would the consulate care if you plan to live temporarily at your parent's house and how would they know it was your parent's house? You are required to prove that you can support your fiance -- you are not required to prove that you can buy a home for her!

    You don't have an interview!!!

You might want to review the K1 guide to better understand the requirements and process.

What's with the sharp remarks?? (!!!)

I know this. I know this. I keep telling her, it's not going to make a difference. It's just that so many things are playing in her head, I just wanted reassurance that I was right!!!!!!!

  4. Wassup VJer's!!!!

    I have two questions.

It appears, my fiance, who has an interview on Sept 7th, is worried about our address. I currently have my parents address as the place of rescidence when she does arrive here. She does not think this is suitable for the manila embassy. She thinks that the embassy will look at it as "why doesn't he have a place of his own?" I have mortagage approvel paperwork for buying a house. I dont like to rent at the moment, because it's like throwing my money away, plus I want to wait until I she comes, so we can pick a place of our own. Must I, have an apartment on my own, so I can present to the consulate? This shows that I am not dependent on my parents, so we can support ourselves. I just want to ask for any advice.

Lastly, If or when do i receive my interview?

    Thanks.

    Go Cubbies!!!!!

  5. Yes, she will need her passport. She will need the passport for her medical at SLEC (St. Luke's Medical Extension Clinic). SLEC will stamp her passport that she is done with the medical, will take her passport and they will forward it together with the medical results to US EMbassy for her interview.

If she applies for passport at DFA, if she will divulge that she is on a K-1 visa, they will require her to attend the CFO seminar first to get the "Yellow Certificate' (Counseling and Seminar Certificate/Attendance).

Per Republic Act 8239 and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Order 28-94, Filipinos proceeding abroad as fiancé(e)s and spouses of foreign nationals are required to attend the CFO's guidance and counseling programs as a pre-requisite to the issuance of passports.

Tell her to get it ASAP as her interview is 3 weeks away and she still needs to have her medical. Tell her to have the medical as early as possible. Good Luck!

Thanks, you guys our life savors!! I dont know how I miss this? Honestly, I dont know if she has a passport or not. Her medical is on August 30th.

  6. This entire USCIS system is Asinine! I realize why there is such a big immgration problem here in the U.S. Because USCIS is full of Idiots and Liars!

I applied for a fiance visa (I129F) in MAY OF 2006, and just now I received my IMBRA RFE. It took them a year to send these documents. Why the hell did it take them a year to send my IMBRA? Not only did it take them a year but they sent it to the wrong adress! I called USCIS in December to change my address and I have documentation proving this. Yet, these Idiots still send it to my old adress! I later called today and they tell me they can no longer do it over the phone, it must be done online or I have to setup an info pass appointment. Unbelievable!

In March of 2007, my paperwork was transferred again. Same service center but different adjucticator. You can say, it was transferred from one Idiot to a bigger Idiot! My congressman had informed me that it was transferred to a supervisor. Why? After 10 months with one Adjucticator it was transferred to another? What, the first Adjucticator cant read??? Friggin, Idiots!

  7. At the risk of infuriating you....

What *exactly* have you done so far to track down your case status?

But in direct asnwer to your question:

What could it hurt? You'd have to pay the processing fee again, but I would attach a cover letter stating that you are reapplying, and why.

    1. Contacted four or five times, USCIS customer service center (how do you guys get anywhere with these guys??) Basically put in two status requests, no avail. They just have the power to put in case status requests. Nothing else. Ask to speak to a manger. No result.

    2. Contacted Baracks office. Spoke to Jamia in Springfield what is she doing?? Try to contact Jenny in Chicago but she's not returning calls.

    3. Contacted Local Congressman Rahm Emanuel office. Spoke to MaryAnn told me that the adjuster is still pending decision (which is BS because they dont have my IMBRA RFE) Told me to wait another 30 days.

    4. Try to contact Tim Sullivan at Durbin's office. OUT OF TOWN.

Am I overreacting??? Who here has applied in MAY and still waiting?? Let me see a show of hands?????

  8. Is it because you still haven't heard anything from May 06? (If I remember correctly?)

Yes, sir. I just want to know if it would conflict with my existing one?

Is it because you still haven't heard anything from May 06? (If I remember correctly?)

Yes, sir. I just want to know if it would conflict with my existing one?

Who here has been waiting since May of 06?? Still waiting of my IMBRA RFE.

  9. That's outrageous! You haven't even received your RFE???

Something is wrong. Have they told you they have your file? Is it not lost??

    what did they say exactly?

"Petition is held in strict chronological order" ROFL

That's BS. Mine took almost 8 months to NOA2 while I watched others months behind me get approved. I know how you feel.

Find another Congressman or Senator to help you. Demand it!!

I will do that, Thanks. Now that I am out of the processing dates, I am more inclined too be heard. Definitely I will show them Gary's approval list.
