  1. As a USC it will be faster if you file, provided the marriage happened before his 18th birthday and he is still single and under 21yo on the date of filing the i130.

He will be under IR2 category. AOS is not needed. He will get 10yr GC after arrival in the US.

Thank you for your answers. I still have a concern, as I look at the Visa Bulletin for this month I see they are currently processing:

    F1 22 Sep 2009 or 1 Jan 2011

    F2A 22 Dec 2014 or 22 Nov 2015

The 2 dates are from the 2 different charts which I do not really understand the difference but they both show the F1 which I thought was LPR petitioning unmarried child is much faster than F2A which I thought was USC petitioning for unmarried child.

    What am I missing?

  3. I have been a member here for about 5 years, recently we moved across country and I lost my email account and now cannot sign into my visaJourney account when I can't remember password it just sends me a link to reset it but to an email I no longer have. I have now started a new membership here.

Is there a way to combine the 2 accounts or recover the old one?

  4. My wife came on a K-1 visa almost 4 years ago and we were married and everything is all on the up and up. Now we are applying for her son to come to US and as I look for info I am running into differing info so I have a few questions.

Is it better and faster for me to apply as a citizen for a stepchild or her as an LPR for a child? Yes he is a child under 21

What are the reasons for either or?

Do I need to file an AOS before or after he arrives?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Ron
