You're definitely not the only one. You'll face the same problems with other USCIS forms too at some point so just do the same - print and write with black pen :)

I have been using pdf on Mac, this system made numeric (like SSN) numbers not be in the exact field location. Tried opening with Google Chrome App and it works better, although 22.a. is still a non typable field :)

The final vaccinations sheet should look like this.......You will still have to find a local USCIS Civil Surgeon and make him fill the I-693. Take all the proofs of your vaccinations from other doctor as well as you medical exam done for K-1 interview which is the DS-3025 and all they will do is transfer details onto I-693. There are a lot of doctors who will take lot of money but you will find a USCIS who will take as low as $35 or $40 to prepare the I-693. Check the VJ forum where you can find a USCIS doctor for low price in the state you reside. Note: You DO NOT need another physical exam.

    Thank you!!!!!!

As soon as you stepped on the US soil, your medical exam becomes valid for 1 year. No need for you to visit a civil surgeon. As long as your medical exam is still valid, you're fine.

I had my medical in January 7, 2017 and submitted my AOS application in April 13, I am now done with the whole thing and I only needed to include my vaccination sheet in my AOS packet. I didn't have to visit any CS for any medical exam or additional vaccination. Just make sure that the box at the bottom is marked as COMPLETE.

    Best of luck!

my vaccination sheet is not marked as complete as I was missing few vaccinations. I did it later in UK with my GP. I have all the proofs but the copies are from UK doctor and not US CS.

The remarks on my UK medical examinations states: K1 Visa - applicant has chosen to defer vaccinations at this time. They have been advised what vaccinations they will require in the future.

  4. Hi guys,

I was missing few vaccinations during medical exam for K-1 visa. Doctors adviced me to get missing vaccinations done in UK, before I leave the country. This is so I don't need to pay for doctors in US. I got all done with my surgeon in UK and have proofs with me.

Now preparing docs for AOS. After reading the medical form I-693 requirements, I got confused if I need to see civil surgeon again? Or is it enough to send copies as an attachment with my application?

  5. You have a wedding to pay for also. Plus the AOS fees. You won't see much change from your £5k after those have been taken into consideration. Then there is health insurance. No NHS in the USA! If you fall and break your leg what then? It sounds like he's getting $500 a month. So he can barely feed the two of you, let alone anything else. I know you say the car is paid off but the petrol isn't. Neither is the insurance or the maintenance and repairs. Depending on which state you will be living in you may not be able to get a driver's licence on a K-1 until after you are married.

And this free accommodation with grandma. What happens if she dies or is taken into a home? Or has an argument with him and decides she does not want him around the house anymore? Such things have happened.

In all honesty, it would have been better for you to wait until he was financially stable or get married a do a CR-1 visa which would allow you to work immediately. I really don't get the fascination with a K-1 visa in the U.K. Why anyone (aside from pensioners or those who have no need to work) would put themselves in a situation where they could not work for months confuses me from a financial and career path perspective. Especially when you are marrying someone that you will be supporting. And all to get there a few months quicker. You can continue to visit during the spouse visa process. But what's done is done.

I arrived in the USA on my IR-1 spouse visa on Monday of this week. We have been together almost 5 years and married since September 2014. Almost 5 years apart - 2 of them married. It can be done if your relationship is strong. The reason we waited is because we initially wanted my husband to live in the UK so we went through the U.K. spouse visa process but that was denied and then I was scheduled for brain surgery to cure my epilepsy and we wanted that to be finished before we started my US visa journey. I was going to face brain surgery alone because my husband is banned from the UK. You do what you have to do.

I am on paid annual leave from my job in the U.K. until December 31 and start a new job in Seattle on January 3. Much better arrangement.

I am sorry to hear about how hard your journey was but I am happy that in the end all worked out! Good examples are always encouraging ?

I don't want to go deep into our financial details but my £8k (this is what I will have by the time I leave the country) won’t be touched for any expenses until I get green card and find the job.

As I mentioned before, we have plenty of money to live on. And I won’t be supporting him for sure ?

My question was more orientated towards him not having job, which is regular stable income and what is the least amount him/me should be showing in this case?

Also, I just found out he will be getting $1000 a month from School. Grandma's house is his inheritance - and only his.

My choice of K-1 is perfect for us because as photographer it will give me enough time to establish my business connections and do some free work for my portfolio. We also plan to do 2 months road trip around US during that time. As entrepreneurs we don’t need visa to keep the wheel spinning ?

I feel that I sound like someone who doesn't know where they are getting themselves into. This is not the case. I worked in the states before and I have been travelling to Cali (this is where I will live) at least once a year for past 5 years. This year I am making 4 trips. I also planned and organised 2 medium sized weddings in Nevada so I know what are the costs.

I know how much things costs in US, I know how the system works, I studied financial part of their healthcare, pensions, mortgages etc. I know their culture very well.

Anyways I told him to go and get the job! He can leave it as soon as we get a green card ?

Thank you everyone for your intake!

  6. What you think is enough, is not what the embassy will think is enough. They will not take into consideration that you have free accommodation etc. Remember that you also need to afford the AOS process itself, healthcare/insurance and other unexpected costs that may come up. Read around the forum for experiences particularly related to your situation (self-sponsoring K1 at London embassy).

It is highly unlikely that they will deport you (they just do not have the resources to hunt down all illegal immigrants), but you will be deportable/illegaly present in the US. You should really look into acquiring a joint sponsor. The financial sponsorship should not be taken lightly.

My fiance and I will be sponsoring the proccess together. In addition to my money he will be filing I-134 also. If bank statements are enough and he doesnt need to show proof of employment then we are fine.

From what I read in the links guys posted here, London is not as strict as application part in US. I should probably look into AOS forums related to money proof at the Green Card stage.

  7. It won't be a disaster if visa is refused.

Just have to wait a bit longer - fiance graduated and get a job which meets the poverty requirement.

And don't forget about of the cost of health insurance in US. It is not cheap.

His studies ends sometime in the end of 2017. By then we will be 2.5 years together. Starting new application from scratch from then will prolong to 3 years apart! :(

I dont believe that relashionship can sustain itself by looking at each other via Facetime.

  8. Well, being from the UK you are luckier than most applicants. You can self-sponsor your K1 using savings. How much do you have?

For AOS however, there will be no such grace. You will need to meet the 125 % income requirement one way or another. Free housing and paid-off car is great, but is of no value to USCIS. How much is he receiving from the college he is attending?

by the time my interview comes I will have £4.5k (this is GBP) but by the time I will leave the country I plan to have £8k.

I think he is receiving $1500 per 3 months (I need to double check this with him).

Also his bank statements shows more that poverty line fluctuation per year.

Which part is AOS? Is it for green card application after we get married? What happens if he wont have job by then? They will deport me?

    Thank you!!!!

  9. Hi,

my interview is 2 months away and I have huge problem with I-134 form :(

My fiance (sponsor) is a student and he doesn't have official job. He doesnt have time to work as he studies and looks after granma and her house. She pays him for this.

I know that there is a joint sponsor option but just in case we wont find anyone what other ways we can proof that he can support me? Cannot I show that I can support myself? I have savings.

For his finance proof we can show:

Free accommodation - living with grandma

    Car - all paid off

Money he will regurlarly receive until end of his studies from his college

Bank statements that shows enough money coming in and out.

I can show all of my savings which is more than enough to live on, having free accommodation and car for the time until I receive my work permit.

Please help with any information/advice you could give. Stress levels are over the roof! :( We are together for past 1.5 years and it would be a dissaster to be refused.

    Thank you very much!

  10. Following up as promised Kasulia!

Jon rescheduled his interview for the day we wanted in January which is the Friday before I fly back home from my visit. He said it was super easy and you just have to log in and select reschedule and you can pick the later date.

It looks like they open up the dates for scheduling the interview about 8 to 9 weeks out with the earliest available always being around the 6 week mark from when you try to schedule. They don't seem to let you schedule any later than that 8 to 9 week mark from the two times we have checked so far.

I hope this helps with your plan to schedule in February! Good luck!

    Hi guys,

Thanks a lot! This is exactly what I needed. I think I will copy your example and book for the date before my petition expires and then reschedule for when I need :)

All the best for your journey!

  11. She is out of work which is why we were worried, but the sad thing is they started grilling us and being rude before even asking us ANY questions about what she does in the UK. They didn't ask for the proof of residence etc... which we had ready to give them. I offered it to the person at the window and he just shook his head as if we were "all wrong" and said "they will deal with you".

I think perhaps the red flags for us were two fold - we were flying through Dublin where you do pre-flight screening, and we were travelling together. We were doing that because my wife was so nervous she wanted me with her, and she didn't want to fly all the way to Houston to be made to turn around in the airport. However, I think they saw us travelling together and going through Dublin and "asusmed" we were taking the "easy way" and we were suspicious.

uhhh I can just imagine how nervous I will be! Thanks for your story, just in case, it is good to know what to expect.

  12. I'm sure we just had a very unlucky bad experience, the problem is my wife suffers from anxiety so that one bad experience was enough to turn her off the process. She could have visited me a lot but she hasn't been able to bring herself to do it for fear of being turned away.

The guy at the counter was essentially mute, didn't ask us any questions. He just saw her passport and my passport and said "They'll speak to you in secondary inspection" when I said I had paperwork about her visa process and her apartment/return flight etc... Then the guy in secondary inspection has us in separate rooms quizzing us each. We haven't really talked about what he said to her but she was pale with puffy eyes so obviously upset. To me he spent most of the time calling me an "idiot" for trying to "cheat the system" and telling me he had "seen my type all the time, you think you're smart when you're actually really dumb". I was so confused. He never actually asked to see any of the documents for the first twenty minutes. He just went straight into railing on us for having her come with me.

Wow, this was a bad experience! Sorry for your wife, I would've given them a good cry too! I am sure it happens from time to time and I am more than ready to fight my corner. I have 2 trips booked to US (Christmas and Valentines day) and I will make sure I will take a letter from my employer confirming that I work with them. I am also taking my work laptop as I will have to work from home few days. In addition I have an email reply from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) INFO Center confirming that it is not recommended that I travel with ESTA during this time. But if I do travel (so it is NOT against the rules) I bring docs to show permanent ties to home country. Same states on US Embassy in UK website: "However, if you wish to make a temporary visit at the end of which you will return to your permanent residence outside the United States, you may travel on a tourist (B-2) visa, or visa free under the Visa Waiver Program, if qualified. When traveling to the U.S. either with a visa or visa free under the Visa Waiver Program, you should be sure to carry with you for presentation to an immigration inspector evidence of your residence outside the U.S. If the immigration inspector is not convinced that you are a bonafide visitor for pleasure, you will be denied entry into the United States."

I think it is stupid to assume that I will stay in their country when my visa is in process. Why would anyone choose difficult way when all docs are ready and interview is paid and booked.

  13. So this is understandable, yet annoying. We checked the system today and the latest date we could schedule for on today was 12/22/16... we plan to check it in another week to see if we can get the date in January that we want. It looks like they only let you schedule for a little less than 2 months out. We went ahead and selected 12/22/16 with the intent to push it back to January. I felt it was better to have an interview scheduled that we can move later, than to not have one scheduled at all.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Kat,

Nice to hear from you :) To book and then reschedule sounds like a good idea! Do you mind updating me on how easy it was to reschedule, when you guys try to re-book?

    Thank you so much!!!!

  14. Kasulia,

Jon and I have to delay his interview as well and will be scheduling his interview on Tuesday for time in January. I will have him play around with the dates a bit to see how far out you can schedule it to try and give you an idea of how far out you can schedule it! I will warn you that Knightsbride will only let you schedule your medical one month out. We tried to schedule his medical last week for the middle of December and they said they only start taking appointments one month out. So if you want to schedule your medical in January you will have to wait until December 1st to schedule it.

I will follow up on Tuesday to let you know how far out they let you schedule the interview!

Thank you both guys! Much appreciated!

  15. Not sure February will work for you... If your case is not delayed by NVC or so, you have to get your medical and K-1 interview done BEFORE your I-129F expiration date, which is January 19, 2017...

I read in the forums that my petition will almost automaticaly be extended and all I need to do is schedule the interview for when I can. Similar states in the Us Embassy in London Page:

"If the visa interview is scheduled more than 4 months from the date the petition is approved, the applicant is required to provide an original letter from the petitioner, confirming that they both remain legally free to marry and that they intend to do so within 90 days of the applicant’s entry to the United States. There is no requirement that the letter be notarized."

So my question is still outstanding...how far in advance can I book the interview?

  16. Hi,

I received approved i-129f petition that is expiring 19th Jan 2017. Almost all of my docs are prepared, only medical examination left to do. I know the medical examination drill of being valid for 6 months etc.

I am trying to delay my interview to the last week of February (after I am back from my travels to visit fiance in US - I am eligible to travel under ESTA). I was wondering how the Interview booking timelines look like? How far in advence can I book?

If, for example, I want to make booking on the 15th of Jan 2017, will I be able to pick date as far as February 20th?

    Many thanks!

  17. I have travel booked to visit my fiance in US in Dec (for Christmas & NYE) and then again in February for Valtines day. Our visa petition was approved very quickly and now I need to gather all docs and schedule the interview appointment. Our petition approval expires end of Jan.

I dont want to miss on visiting my fiance both times so I am planning to schedule my interview in the beginning of January.

My question is: if my K1 is approved in January, can I travel to US in Feb on my VWP then come back, organise the move/give notice at work etc. and enter US under K-1?

    Many thanks
