Thanks guys I was just afraid that they(uscis) would want me to give up my Canadian passport at the oath.
-
Do you have to turn your current passport in when you take your oath, I know uscis makes you give up your greencard at the ceremony, will they ask for your current passport then?

When you go for your oath, do you have to give up your foreign passport? Are you allowed to have 2 passports? Ex: Canada & Usa?
thanks

Your husband's conviction will not matter, if it is minor as you explained. Try not to worry, nothing you can do now but wait for the decision.
I hate to tell you but you are wrong since 9/11, the criminal record of the USC does matter. I have a friend of mine who is going thru something very similar. If the conviction is for a sexual offense your petition maybe denied. I believe it is called the Adam Walsh Act enacted in July 2006.
Good luck,

I will be applying for citizenship on the 21 st of this month. I was wondering how much and what kind of evidence did you guys send based on marriage to a US citizen?
What can I expect after I send in my application? Will I be able to view any changes on the USCIS website... or is it just a waiting game?
Thanks for your help,
Pacman

Hi guys,
Havent been here in a while. I am in the process of applying to remove my conditions, my spouse is a convicted sex offender. My I-130 was approved before this law came into effect but I am wondering if it will have any inpact on my current I-751. Will I be denied or deported?
Thanks for your help

Yes you must file an address change. All permanent residents are required to inform the USCIS of an address change. I believe you can also call the 1-800 number to USCIS to change your address.

Thanks guys.
We had a long talk last night. I asked him where we stood. The last thing he wanted was a divorce. I mean I didnt know. He was very sorry for what he did and promised me that he would buy a new door. He was actually really sweet about it. To be honest I was surprized, he has a hard time admitting when he is wrong.
Thanks once again

Hi there,
I havent been on in a long time. I have to file my paperwork next week and today my husband and I had a HUGH fight. It got to the point that he became very violent and broke one of the bedroom doors. I am at a loss. I dont know what to do. He had already signed the paperwork, however i dont know if our marriage is over. I dont know if I should send in the paperwork or see if he wants to file for a divorce. I have been married for 3 years and have a valid marriage. I dont know I am so lost right now. Please advise

You must be married beyond the award of the conditional green card in order to qualify to petition to remove conditions and waive the joint filing requirement.
What do you mean by that statement? I have the conditional GC in hand and have been married for almost 2 years. We are trying to work our issues out, however in the event that things dont work out. I have to think of what next.

Thank you.
I was wondering has anyone on this board been sucessful at removing their conditions based on "good faith"? Is there a certain time limit that you have to be married? I am not sure if the 2 year rule applies or not. I do have a valid marriage, and all the proof needed to prove that. I am concerned at the uncertainty of all this. Not only is my marriage falling apart, but now I have to think of the future here or to go home.
If anyone could shed some light I would appreciate it.

I am currently a conditional GC holder, and my marriage right now is really shakey. What happens if we file for divorce? Am I allowed to stay or do I have to go back to my home country?
Thankyou

I would file right away. That way Immigration can send a 1 year extention and he/she can remain in status.
