Hey vv84,
Only one thing I can tell you, don't stress ahaha this interview is definatly the easiest part, once the security is done(entering the building), everyone is very nice and happy.
On your list I would add, proof of payment for interview(265$ if I remember well), it's acutally on one of the email, they asked me for that.
For the passport pictures, there is a photobooth if you really don't have time to do it before.
Good luck
Edit: the 265$ proof may show on your first point: 1) Appointment letter showing the date and time of your interview

Hello,
I am not sure if this is packet three that I received or not. We've received the NOA2 and I (the Canadian citizen) recently received some papers from the U.S Consulate with an MTL number.
On the first page from them, it says:
"In order to continue processing your case, please send the below document/s by email the soonest possible: http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html"
And below that it says: "Proof of your Canadian citizenship or your legal immigration status in Canada."
The above link doesn't work, though. It just opens to a page saying "Invalid URL."
So, my questions:
1) What is supposed to be in the link that they reference on the page?
2) Is proof of my Canadian citizenship all that they currently want? Since it's the only document listed.
3) It says to send the documents by email - but, to what email?
The only other papers I received in the envelope were a copy of the approved petition and a pamphlet on "Rights and Protections for Foreign-Citizen Fiances"
Thanks for any help!
Hi
Received the same letter last week asking for Canadian Citizenship proof.
The URL isn't working on the lettter, here is one you can use: https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/public-inquiry-form/ you cannot add file to this inquiry form
I sent my document on the email montreal-iv-dv@state.gov (you can find it on the bottom right of the letter you received)
It seems to be really important that your e-mail title give your MTLXXXXX case #.
Hope it help for that part.
If you look on https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==
Does it say your case is 'ready' ?
Mine is in Ready state since october 12 (date the letter asking for citizenship proof was written also)
So now I wait on packet 3 or any other communication on their side.

Sorry to hijack your post, I will ask my questions here so it can maybe answer yours too
You can find the packet 3 exemple here, to give you an idea what you need
http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf (please make sure it's up to date if you ever use this one)
My Questions:
on point 2, they want a copy of the checklist, is that the 1 page checklist only saying you are ready only? or all the information requested too
on point 3, may sound stupid sorry, but applicant is the beneficiary right?
Thanks

You will need to provide passport and original birth certificate. If he wants to also bring any other proof of Canadian citizenship he can.
ok, original birth certificate, Canadian citenzenship are both in french, really hope that doesn't cause problem.
ty for the answer

Actually only have one birth certificate from Switzerland ( can we get one from another country done??), the paper from Canada is proof of citizenship

Hi Klee,
I used "commisionnaires" service in the past and highly recommend them.
Really fast and good service.

Hi All,
Brand new user on this forum but been reading for a while now
Currently preparing the packet 3 (should receive NVC notice in next days hopefully)
It require the beneficiary to provide his birth certificate, in my case, the beneficiary is born in Switzerland and moved to Canada when he was 9 years old.
Currently have both citizenship.
Should we provide both birth certificate from Switzerland (original or translated to english?) and Canadian citizenship proof ?
Thank you all for your replies

Checked luggage?
in Canada
Posted
Hey all
So the big day is coming pretty soon and my POE will be Montreal.
I will have one big luggage and a small carry-on.
Regarding the big one, am I supposed to check it(give to airline company) at the same time I do my check-in(before customs), or bring it to the customs in case they want to see anything in it(never know hehe) and register it later another way.
thanks
