I have received Pack 3 for the K-1 visa application. Under enclosures is listed form OF-167, however my package only contains the I-134 form. Does this matter and what should I do now? Can you guys help me?

We mailed the application for K1 three weeks ago and haven't heard back anything yet, only that the package was received at the service center. Is this normal that it takes so long before receiving the NO1?

Hey, does anybody know if i need to provide my birth certificate already for the k-1 visa application or just later for the interview? (i am the foreign fiancee). the application is already submitted without my birth certificate and i heard now that i should have provided it with the application.

oh ok. it's going to be in Germany but since i work abroad i probably will need some time in order to arrange a flight and travel back to Germany for the medical. thats why i am interested if i can arrange the appointment myself (after booking a flight etc.)

does anybody know how to handle the translation of documents issue? do i have to give my documents (birth certificate, vaccination passport etc) do a certified translator or can i do it myself if i can proof that my knowledge of English is sufficient? (for example by attaching my last TOEFL score).

my US-fiance and I are about to file the k-1 visa application. i have a problem with providing my recent address because i work in a humanitarian aid project in Sri Lanka, travel a lot in the country and do no really have a permanent address. is it ok if i provided the address of my employer's office in Sri Lanka?

i do plan to attach a sheet of paper to the application stating that all mail should be forwarded to my parents address in Germany who will then dhl it to the office in Sri Lanka.

can anybody help please?

i just checked the link dwar49 has sent me: i can get my police certificate while being abroad, i just have to subit the request in written form and have it delivered to the german embassy in the country where i will be working. juhu!

good thing also to know that i wont need a police certificate for my exchange year in the US; now i just have to get one from from the Sri Lankan authorities (did 11 months of internship there) but that should be easy since my next job assignment will be in Sri Lanka (so i can take care of it on the spot).

I always thought that i needed to provide police certificates for all places lived longer than six months but if its the case that its longer than a year i wont have to get one for my study exchange to the US (10 months).

I am new to this forum and maybe someone can help me with my question(s) regarding the police certificate needed for the K 1 visa (for which my fiance and i plan to apply by end of August):

-do I need to bring it with me to the interview or do i need to send it in earlier?

- how old/new is the police certificate supposed to be when handing it in?

Since i work in the humanitarian aid business and am going to Asia in a couple of weeks (for six months) this question is pretty important to me since I may encounter problems with getting the certificate while being abroad (in Germany you have to show up in person at city hall to have it issued).

if i need it for the interview (for which i will fly to Germany for a week or two) i could just get it then, otherwise i need to fly back to Germany just for a five minute visit to city hall.

It would be great if somebody had an answer to my question.
