  1. My wife and I had our interview  on March 20, 2017 but i filed Sept 16, 2016 and we were asked just a single question

    " Where did you meet " after which he asked for our supporting documents ;

    1.Joint Tax return 2016

2.Joint Furniture rental since Oct 2016

    3.Joint cable bill

4.Joint car insurance since Sept 2016

5.Joint lease agreement since Sept 2016

6.155 copies of Photos (Wedding and Others including vacation)

    7.Marriage and birth certificates

8.1 94 and passport of beneficiary

9.Our drivers licenses with the same address *****VERY IMPORTANT That s how to assure them you live together

10.Affidavit from my mother in law to show that she was at the wedding and happy for us  copy of her ID attached***** THIS WAS THE MAGIC

After we handed all of the above to him , he told us we had enough evidence and he s convinced our wedding is real .

Luckily his father served in the military years ago and so was my Father in law and the interview ended with discussion about military life

Which he told us to expect approval in few days BUT next day my status changed "INTERVIEW COMPLETED AND CASE MUST BE REVIEWED"

It got stuck on this for five weeks but

    April 27:Case Approved

    May 1 :Approval Notice

May 4:Card received ***     Drank 2 bottles of red wine with some nice sea food

HINT: It s better to have enough evidence to back up your case and put on a pleasant smile through out

Your photos should be arranged in a way the once you need to convince them re at the top

Get affidavit from any of the Petitioner or beneficiary s family to say something positive about your marriage

Many don't  believe this though but from experience PRAYER works for me .

AND GUESS WHAT ? Our age difference is 15 years *** Love Can't be defined

Visiting Canada in two weeks ,

Thanks guys for your support and i wish others best of Luck .

The waiting game is boring but your testimony is almost here.

I and my husband had our interview yesterday at Bloomington Office in Minnesota.

I came to the US on F1 and have been working on H1B since then and my husband is a US citizen(not by birth).

It felt like the interview went pretty well. We compared our answers after coming back.

Besides 2 answers everything else matched.

At the end of the interview, after yes/no questions the interviewer explained the procedure about removing conditions 90 days before the expiration of temporary green card. She then said that she has some verification to run after which a decision will be mailed in 2 weeks.

When I checked the status on USCIS website it says "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed"

Has anyone gone through a similar situation?

And does anyone know if they are doing on the spot approvals or rejections anymore?.

    Any information will be appreciated.

Do you have response yet as am In simituation and it's already six weeks . Thanks

Hello.  Well, our case needed to be reviewed because I (the U.S. citizen) did not bring an original of my birth certificate to the interview.  Of course, we did not know that was the reason until we received a letter via post saying that was the reason for the case not being approved.  And in that week we thought about all of the reasons why they might be denying my Syrian husband status.  Duh!  So after I sent in my birth certificate original (which took about 3-4 days for me to get and then send on), then 7-10 days after that his AOS was approved.   I hope that the reason that your case is being reviewed is as simple as ours was.

OH thanks for the info.. i have one last question 'cos am presently so worried . Did you status changed to "Interview completed and must be reviewed" before or after the interview??? Thanks

  4. Hello Guys

    i had my interview on the 20th March 2016 and everything went well as we took enough photos and these documents with our names on them ;

    Lease

    Furniture Rental Agreement

    Car insurance

    Tax return 2016

    Cable Bill

    Marriage Certificate

Also with other necessary documents  like passports , 1 94 and birth certificates

The officer told us we got all he needed and medical was good BUT we got RFE as he requested for a copy of divorce degree of my wife which we rushed home , got it and dropped it at USCIS office same day .

We got home and my status on 1-485 changed to " INTERVIEW COMPLETED AND CASE MUST BE REVIEWED " Its been stuck on this for three weeks now .

    I have two questions ;

HOW LONG DO I NEED TO WAIT ?

COULD THIS DELAY BE AS REGARD THE RFE??

    Hello all:

My husband and I went to our green card interview today at the Fairfax, VA, office. The interview lasted one hour. We were asked about how we met, when things "got serious", when we got engaged, who was at the wedding. We didn't answer with specific mm/dd/yy, but rather in general terms, as we aren't much for celebrating anniversaries (anniversaries of the wedding - yes, anniversaries of meeting, or getting engaged -- not so much ). We handed over our holiday photo card (a good idea), proof that he is on my medical insurance, co-signed car loan, etc. We were asked all of the I-485 "yes/no" questions. We were asked for his divorce certificate from previous marriage, my divorce certificate from previous marriage, my most recent tax filing (I file late every year ), his sealed medical records and immunizations. At the end of the interview, we received a notice of interview results with a "reason for continuance" saying that our case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS does not require any further information from us. I'm not quite sure what to think. My husband and I think that the interview went well. He is Syrian, and it may be the case that the interviewer's supervisor needs to sign off, or that there is an additional background check. In any case, I will write an update to VJ once I hear of the next step, for other July 2016 AOS filers who may be in the same situation. Courage, everyone!

Hello , we just had our interview March 20 and when we got home our status online changed to " Interview completed and case must be reviewed " it's already 3 weeks .Yours took how long ? What's the outcome ? Kindly reply

  8. Here s my timeline and am sure this will sure help :

    Sent AOS,I 765 and I 130.........09-14-2016

    Arrived USCIS Lockbocks........09-16-2016

NOA Form I 797C for all received ....09-25-2016

    Biometrics Apt.......10-18-2016 ( Done within 10 minutes)

    RFIE notice sent.......10-19-2016

SR for RFIE not received ...11-10-2016 ( Almost a month)

Called USCIS back after 10 days but they told me to chill since i already placed SR..

RFEI received 11-28-2016 (Guess what i found out, The first one sent my APT # was omitted ...LOL) I guess some of them re paid to PLAY around the office.

RFEI received by USCIS 12-1-2016 ( 1485 changed to Response to RFEI received )

    EAD approved ...12-12-2016

    EAD card mailed ...12-15-2016...Day 89

Note : RFEI is an AUTO pause not restart on both your I 765 and I 485 not RESTART , but when you call them

they tell you you have to wait for another 90 days but with what the Tier 2 officer told me you re told 90 days to make people

relax and stop them from calling every week ...LOL but in the real sense you get your EAD approve about two weeks from when they receive your RFIE .

Trust me the waiting game seems to be the toughest game i have played within 90 days but trust me your GOOD NEWS is about hit your mail in about 2 weeks .

  9. Hello Guys,

    I filed for my i 130 ,765 and I 485 on 09/14/2016

    Received at USCIS Chicago ....09/16/2016

    Biometrics..... 10/18/2016

Got a notification my RFIE was mailed on I 485 ONLY -10/19/2016 but not received

So i called USCIS and placed a SR on 11/14/2016 and yet still don t have the hard

copy of the RFE . Am currently on day 71 today , I intend to settle for an info pass next week BUT i have just two questions guys :

    1. Does RFE on I 485 affects my I 765 ?

    2. My Co-sponsor is a permanent resident and qualified to sponsor my application with all required documents submitted ..I HOPE HE DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A CITIZEN?

Hope to read from my fellow September filers real soon .

  10. Hi everyone. I have a problem again :(. I have been waiting for my RFE letter for 11 days already and nothing came.

I know that there is an expiration date for that but not sure how long. Does anyone know?

Should I go to infopass to check what happened and request to resend a new one?

We re just in the same boat in the same direction .. I have been waiting to receive the hard Copy of my RFIE for 18 days no but its still not here . Don't even know if it was trashed at USCIS office ...lol

  11. Congratulations to all those who have completed the process and all the very best to those still waiting - hang in there!

I had my interview last week - it was very straightforward and we were told at the interview that our case was approved. It lasted about 40 minutes but could have been shorter if they hadn't been experiencing technical difficulties on the day! Our officer was impressed about how quickly the case was processed. One thing we were told was that me being from the UK probably helped because the USA & UK have good communication and typically speedy sharing of information. Other countries might take longer to share records and/or need to be translated. Don't know if there are any other Brits on here who would agree with this? Obviously there are lots of other issues which might hold up cases, fortunately I think ours was pretty simple.

Thank you for the support and company along this journey folks - I wish you all every happiness!

Hello , i noticed you got a RFE on 1 485 for initial evidence , i received the same notice on the web for my i 485 but i haven't receive the hard copies for 12 days now to know what they need , can you kindly tell me like what documents they needed in your case ?
