I've been assuming 5 weeks based on other timelines I've seen, but I've also seen some with 6 weeks too.

I haven't received any further updates, but I have been tracking other cases being processed at our field office meticulously. It seems things are going slow at the moment.

If the USCIS Processing Time Info page is correct, it's looking like the current processing time is 6.75 months. If I receive my interview letter later this month, that would be pretty accurate. I've read that the USCIS-published processing times aren't always correct, but based on mine and other NY applicant cases, it's looking like they're going beyond the average 5-month processing time at the moment.

I'll keep my timeline updated here anyway.

Hi sorry for the late reply - I was traveling.

Well I actually got this requirement from a recent interview experience posted to this forum (or trackitt) by a fellow NY applicant. Long story short, the officer was happy to approve his case apart from the fact that he did not have a certified copy of the court record to show he had paid his fine. He had to go to the court the same day to get it.

I really think it comes down to the particular officer you get at your interview, but personally I'm just getting the records to ensure I have all bases covered to minimize the chances of my application being delayed.

I lived in a different city at the time the tickets were issued, so I had to find the municipal court online for the county I resided in (the DMV is not responsible for such matters). If you're going to get the records, I'd recommend doing the same for the county you reside in within NY.

You need certified records from the court where the ticket fine was settled. I would highly recommend getting these as they are (usually) all the USCIS will accept. Copies, receipts, and otherwise won't be sufficient. The USCIS officer basically needs to ensure you've settled any outstanding issues with the legal system - only certified records from the court will do this.

They can usually be obtained with a $5-10 admin fee depending on the court. I had to email two different courts to get certified copies of the two traffic tickets in previous places I had lived. They sent them out in the mail pretty quickly.

I recently applied for citizenship and did not see anything like this. I think you have it confused with Selective Service, which is a requirement to register for military service. That's the only place in the application where the age of 26 is mentioned.

Your fine. Nothing to worry about regarding entering the U.S. as a tourist when you were 16.

Just checked my case status online and found that they have put my application in line for the interview. Didn't receive an email notice for this for those wondering (just FYI).

i have question. was i suppose to send my tax return allow with my N400 application ? . i have seen couple of people that send their return to prove good moral character. i have been PR since 1992.

No - it wasn't required as part of the N-400 submission. Just take it along to your interview and that should be fine.

Hi Everyone, so out of sheer curiosity I decided to check my case status and it says they mailed out my biometric notice! I didn't receive a text or email though. Will update after I get something

Yeah, it's strange. I expected them to send out a notification at each step of the process, but it looks like they send one initial notification and the rest is up to the applicant (to check the status online, receive mail, etc). Maybe that changes when they schedule an interview - will keep a lookout.

Thanks for updating my info. for those of you who have signed up for text/email alerts, did you get a text/email about your fingerprints or was that just a letter in the mail? I'm hoping to get some kind of notification in the next 10 days or so.

I received an email notification when my application was first accepted, but that was it. I didn't receive my fingerprint appointment notification, but I found out about it before the letter arrived in the mail by using the receipt number assigned to me on form I-797 on the case status website (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do).
