Hello all!
My mother and I (minor) had our interview in Newark this past Thursday. We arrived at the building 6:45AM since my interview was at 7:15AM and there was a HUGE line to get in (the building only opens at 7AM). We passed through security, just like the one in airports. We got up to the office and they said to wait for an officer to call you. My mom and I actually had our interview together but they only called us around 9AM. The officer was very professional and polite. I was the first one to be interviewed. He asked for the originals of documents we submitted, checked them, asked the "no" questions, then asked me basic info about my stepfather (name, birthday, place of work, my mom and stepdad's anniversary) and that was it. The same happened with my mother's interview, except they asked him about his relationship with my mother and if we would like to submit extra documents to improve our case. We gave him photos, joint bank statements, and our health insurance policy with our names on it.
He said he seems to have all documents and we should receive everything in the mail between 2-3 weeks. So I think we were approved?
They still haven't updated the USCIS website but I am confident everything went well!
I apologize for the extremely long post, but I wanted to share our experience since I have not heard much from the Newark office. I hope everyone else's interviews goes as smoothly as ours did!

I'm 8 months, 20 days past my priority date. NYC has the longest waiting times in the country, with an average of 10.5 months. I'm patiently waiting.... Congrats to everyone who has received their interview letters/gotten their greencards!
I'm sure yours will come in soon!
We are in the Newark office and have been waiting since January 25th for the interview to be scheduled, and today we received it!! Our interview is on August 17

Driving** LOL

Hello all,
I have applied for my AOS and so far it has been going smoothly. I started to think about my next steps after getting the green card and one of them is driving.
The NJ's DMV website says that to get a driver's license I need to present them with proof of diving experience such as an international Driving Permit and proof of authorized stay in the country.
My IDP is expired, do you think they would accept it still? I don't want to have to go through the whole first-time driver process.
Thank you

Who is this person? Is it someone you know? A lawyer? A relative? A complete stranger?
Typically, USCIS lockboxes are pretty good at returning your entire application if something is amiss. If you don't receive the entire package back, it's been accepted and you're good to go. If not, the whole package will be sent back and you can include as many copies as you like.
Just sit back and relax.
He works with taxes and document preparation. I was only concerned because I have read so many posts in here and thought that the way he set up the petitions was a little weird. I think it will be okay because he included all supporting documents needed.
Thank you!!

Generally, one set of evidence per person..... Are you Adjusting Status within the USA, or applying for a visa from your home country?
We are in the USA. It's one petition per person. I was just wondering on the aspect of how many copies of the same documents I should include in each petition since both I-130 and I-485 ask for copies of birth certificates... Is only one copy enough?
Thank you!

Hello! My mother and I are applying for our green cards through my stepdad who is a US citizen. We had a person to fill out our forms and he sent the papers back yesterday. He only included one set of copies of evidence for the entire thing. Is that okay? For example, I-485 and I-130 both request for birth certificate copies. Does only one copy of that will be enough or do I have to add more copies? I know that it is a silly question, but we don't want any delays with USCIS.
