My wife and I have an interview date for a K-3 visa really soon. Her country has been giving her the run around about what she needs to do about changing her passport from her maiden name to her married name. I was wondering if we could go to the interview with her passport still in her maiden name even though the I-129F has her married name?

I have a question for anyone who has been through the medical examination process for K-3 visas in Venezuela. How long does it take to get the results for a medical examination? Neither my wife nor I are residents of Venezuela but our interview will be through the Embassy in Caracas. I would like to make one trip to Venezuela to include both the medical exam and the interview. Does anyone know if both can be done within the same week? Thanks

My 129F was filed on 1-11-07 and approved on 2-15-07.

Do you know what happens with the I-129F petition after you send it to Chicago?I thought they transfer it to the local SC-in our case -VSC,but in the K3 flowcart of this webpage it states that from Chicago they transfer it to the National Benefits Center in Missouri-and then what?I don't understand which one is correct?

Also,did you need to send evidence of your relationship and ongoing marriage in the I129F package as well?

My 129F went from Chicago to Missouri and then was transferred to Vermont where it was approved. As I understand it all petitons are sent directly to Chicago from Missouri and later MIssori will send it to CSC or VSC depending on where you live in the country.

As for proof of relationship and ongoing marriage, I only sent a copy of my marriage certificate. I guess it wasnt a problem since I was approved in only 34 days.

Now I'm on to the NVC. Does anyone know how long before I can expect the consulate to have my petition?

I received my NOA1 on 1-11-07 and I just received my NOA2 on 2-15-07. That may not be the world record for speed but I'm sure its close. I'm so excited right now since I think I might have my wife here with me before the end of next month.

My NOA1 was received less than 4 weeks ago and in the last 3 weeks I have been touched 10 times. My petition is with the Vermont Service Center. While looking at other peoples time lines I dont recall seeing anyone touched so many times in such a short period of time. Just curious if anyone else has experience wih this and if this means an RFE (I dont think so) or fast approval (fingers crossed on my knees praying) is coming.

Is your fiancee in Honduras as a visitor, or resident of Honduras? USCIS and NVC will defer the case to the consulate in the Dominican Republic if she is not a resident of Honduras.

Actually thats not correct. With a K3 the law requires that the Visa be issued in the country "where the marriage took place"

After using an online translator (the document is in Dutch), I discovered that the document I have is an extract of a marriage certificate. It has all of the pertinent information from the marriage certificate and says that it is an official document from the Registrar. It even has a seal and a signature from the Registrar. Any opinions as to whether this will suffice for the I-130 or should I continue to wait for the official marriage certificate?

No, the document I have is separate from the marriage license. We were married in Curacao on 11-20-06 and the Register gave us what looks like a temporary marriage certificate with a seal and signature. However, we were told that we had to wait to receive the official marriage certificate.

I was married a month ago in the caribbean but I have not yet received my official marriage certificate. However, the day of the ceremony I did receive a signed document with a seal from the registry that has all of the information regarding the wedding. (bride and grooms names, parents names, date of the wedding, etc). I was wondering for purposes of filing the I-130 can I use this form and take the official marriage certificate to my interview?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using something other than the official marriage certificate with their I-130 application. I was married at a Breezes resort but they have not been able to give me a time certain when they will be able to obtain the official marriage license. As you can imagine this is delaying the process of filing for my wife to come to the US.

I am in the process of completing the G325A form for my wife and I have noticed that I do not have enough room in the blanks provided for residence and employment. When the address will not fit on the line provided is it OK to write on the line below and then draw a line through month and year boxes. ????? I thought the fillable forms would have skipped to the next line but they do not (the remaining information does not show up on the printed form when you type beyomd the space provided on the fillable form)

I know it may soumd like a silly question but I dont want to do anything that will cause my form to be sent back.

I asked the question because my fiance (soon to be wife) lives in a country that is taking more than a year (sometimes 2 years) to process K-1 and K-3 visas. I am thinking about traveling to another country (one that processes these applications faster) to get married, so i can avoid the long waiting list in her country of residence. If this in fact works, what appears to be an inconvience to other people (having the visa processed in a 3rd country where neither of you lives) my actually turn out to be a blessing for me.
