  1. I got my case number guys just now. I chose option 3 as well. The guy was very nice. It was sent to Montreal October 6th he said but I haven't received any packages. Probably because of the holiday.

hi fellow montreal filer! just wondering what the status of your case is when you check it in the ceac website? mine is still stuck in "at nvc" since oct 7. ty!
  2. Tiny bit of background:

I'm from Calgary and I drove all the way to Vancouver for this medical, as I actually knew people there and was able to crash on their couch to save money for a few days, saving me a fortune. I'm back in Calgary now and I'll be flying out on Sept 20th for my interview in Montreal the following morning, and then flying back to Calgary later in the evening.

Had my medical at 9:45 AM, traffic was light. Went up to the desk and one of the assistants took a few documents from me including a bunch of passport photos (I had a stockpile of them at this point since I kept reading you need passport photos for everything), passport, and a secondary ID (I gave her my NEXUS card). I also provided a list of the vaccinations I received from my doctor back at home and we determined that I still needed Tdap (since I'm 28), otherwise my vaccinations were all good. I was asked to pay up front, and I paid with debit -- I think I paid an extra $30 or so for the vaccination on top of everything else. I was then asked to sit down and wait.

After some time, another assistant asked me to follow her. She placed me into a room, asked me to remove my hoodie and shoes and follow her so she could take my height and weight, and then after that she sat me back into the same room. With my phone turned off, it felt like an eternity, then Dr. Cheema himself came into the room, introduced himself, asked me a bunch of very quick questions regarding my health which I said "no" to all of them, he was flinging checkmarks off on his piece of paper as fast as he can ask the questions it's crazy. Afterwards, he gave me the Tdap vaccination and then after about a minute of holding the gause on my arm, he checked it and he said "you're all good to go, see the receptionist". After that, the receptionist asked me to sit down for 15 minutes to make sure the vaccination didn't have some sort of reaction with me, and following the 15 minute wait, she called me up and gave me all the paperwork required for the next two steps, and we had to drive down the street to another medical center for bloodwork as well as an X-ray.

Now I was a bit of an idiot and did the X-ray the following day, but because both were in the same building, I misread that they were two separate offices. I went in to the office required for the bloodwork and took a number, it was 137 and the current number was 129. After about 20 minutes, my number was called, I provided the receptionist my paperwork required for the bloodwork and my Alberta Healthcare Card, and then after some typing she gave me a large piece of paper with a "1" on it, and asked me to go around the corner and find the chair matching the "1", and then I sat down and waited about 3 minutes. I was a bit nervous as it's been a super long time since I've had bloodwork done, but afterwards a doctor came around and did it real quick, tied the top of my arm with an elastic, stuck a needle in my arm below and then removed the elastic. It was about a 20 second procedure and then it was done. I then asked her about an x-ray, and she replied with "what x-ray?", so I figured that I was done and then we went back to my friend's place. I figured "no problem" since I had a bit of recollection that the x-ray was "optional" on the packet 4.

Oops, that was a mistake! We should have gone downstairs in the same building and got the x-ray done too, so I got that done the following morning before Dr. Cheema's opened, and then called them and let them know and they said no problem the medical packet should still be done by 4PM today, they'll call the x-ray place to get it expedited! As promised, the medical packet was completed by 4PM that day, and I picked it up, along with my x-ray on a CD and a few other pieces of info, and we were done! The medical packet is sealed and says "DO NOT OPEN" in bold, red letters on it and has my case number and everything on it.

In the end, it was really good and I was treated with care and everyone was super happy and/or understanding and service was top-notch. I was a bit confused on the x-ray bit, but I fault myself for that. The following day I drove back to Calgary and here I am, waiting at home for my flight next Tuesday in the afternoon, yet taking vacation from work right now so I'm just meeting up with people I might not have a chance to meet up with before I move!

hi! just wondering, you got your results the same day you had your medical examination?

  3. I had the same worry but it went to NVC NOT the consulate in Dominican Republic...

Also 7 days is about the time for mail from CALI to arrive in NH.

I wouldn't worry till its been a least 6 weeks...(saying that as I laugh) I worry about everything too :)

good to know im not the only one :))

Doesn't matter much what it says on the NOA2, some say it's been sent to the consulate, some say it's been sent to NVC. Truth is that ALL approved i-129f are sent to NVC (not straight to the embassy/consulate), NVC will know what consulate to send your petition to, no worries.

    p

thank you for the info! i really hope everything goes smoothly x_x

  4. so my petition is giving me anxiety. It's been stuck to "Case was approved" since September 22nd and I dont know if this is normal. I have already called the NVC and they cant even findt my case, plus the consulate listed on my NOA2 is Calgary which I just learned does not process k1 visas. i hope someone here can enlighten me with regards to my case. we've been in a LDR for almost 6 years now and we just want to be together ASAP :(
