  1. No worries, you can and are allowed to enroll based on your status as an Adjustment Applicant. The rep who helped you probably just gave you the easy way out for him/her. Here's the link with backup info: http://www.coveredca.com/individuals-and-families/getting-covered/immigrants/

If you need help submitting docs to prove status, call here: Covered California’s Service Center, (800) 300-1506

Here's the info, I highlighted in RED what you'll want to send to them since you don't have the EAD/AP or GC yet:

Documents to Confirm Eligibility for Covered California - Immigration Status / Lawful Presence

Applicant for Adjustment to LPR Status
    - Notice of Action (I-797) (ASC Appointment notice with Case Type “I-485 Application” and “Receipt of Application for Employment Authorization based on C9”)
    - Employment Authorization Document (Card) (I-766) (e.g. annotated “C9” or “C9P”)
    - Employment Authorization and Advance Parole Card (I-512) (authorization for parole, indicating applicant for adjustment of status)
    - Receipt showing filing or pending status of Form I-485 “Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status”

You are golden!!! Thank you so much. I just chatted with an other assistand and they have no idea what they are doing. Its really frustrating :-(

I am so glad we have each other here

  2. Hey guys. I need your help. So I was just trying to enroll in health insurance but they said I either need my work authorization card or my green card. Anyone had the same problem?

Done that many times haha but thank you :) It's under review.

I just did the save check for fun and it says something weird: SAVE has returned your case to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

What does that even mean? And why does it say that?

  3. So my EAD card is being produced right now and I guess as soon as they sent it to me I can go to the social security office and get my card. My questions is I heard that it takes about two weeks until they send you the card. However, someone else told me that you can get the number (not the card) right away and thats pretty much all you need to start working. I know this sounds ridiculous since we've all been waiting forever so whats two weeks. But I already have an opportunity to work and I am counting the days (as weird as this may sound). So can I just go start working with the number?

  4. Is there anyone that filed around September 19th that is still waiting for EAD? We sent my husband's application in on this date and got the confirmation it arrived Sept. 21st.

He has done biometrics and everything back in October, but I have not received an update on if it has been approved and/or they are sending the card. We are on day 85. I called USICS and they said they had his biometrics on file, everything was fine but no additional activity on the case. I would have to call after the 90 mark to open a case.

Anyone in the same position? Or did it come on the 90 day mark?

Hey. I am in a similar situation. I filed September 21 (NOA was September 26). Yesterday was day 77 and I put in a service request. Today it got confirmed. However, I already have my interview scheduled for January. My clock never stopped. It's weird that there is progress for AOS but not for AP and EAD

  5. We're still waiting too, although we have already been scheduled for interview... wondering if the EAD will be approved before the interview or at all now.

Hang in there zkibuta! Hoping for a resolution for you soon!

same here. im in LA too and they skipped all the steps so I went directly from "Fingerprint fee received" to "Interview is scheduled". I havent heard anything from EAD and AP though either.

  6. We were here worrying and praying and God already had it worked out! I checked the tracking on our case numbers this morning and there was nothing. I was getting more and more discouraged. I happened to check about 2 hours later and then I saw that the EAD tracking was updated! We didn't get the electronic notice until this morning but it was actually approved on 11/30/16 (Day 69)! We are waiting to see if the AP has also already been approved and when the card will be mailed! The job search is starting in earnest now! Thank you everyone for your support!

haha yay!! finally! seems like we are the stragglers but we made it!

  7. Hallo annie,

i am sorry to hear you haven't heard anything about your EAD/AP yet, but i wouldn't worry to much about it, hence you got your interview scheduled , right ? when is your interview ?

i had my interview on 12/1 and i got approved on the spot... nothing has been updated online yet, but because of a problem that accured with a form that i had to fill out after the interview ( Form I-407 abandonment of greencard, hence i had one before long time ago and put my current legal name on it instead of my previous name that was on the card )i had to call uscis the day after and tier 2 told me that my card is in production ( nothing updated on my case yet ), that i will get my card between 7-10 days.

Oh congrats!! Yea I think everything is fine. They just forgot to update it. My interview is January 6. hope everything will be fine. But it's really surprising that I didn't get my ead yet. And I'm worried that maybe I missed something or didn't get it in the mail

We haven't gotten anything of anything. Our NOA1 priority date is 9/22/16. Our day 75 is this coming Tuesday so we will probably put in an inquiry then.

Aww I know how that sucks. But luck at me. Nothing and the suddenly the appointment. Maybe the combo card will be in the mail next week without any announcement before. The whole process is full of surprises and it will work for you too

  8. I am getting the feeling that we will be needing to put in an inquiry next week. Tomorrow will already be 70 days and 42 since biometrics. Next Tuesday will be day 75. I am wondering if it has anything to do with his mother being Muslim. I hope not...

 no no worries. i have zero muslims in my family and waited 45 days for my biometrics and am now on day 65 and no status changed ever. i'm still at fingerprint fee received. but i see myself putting in an inquiry in 10 days, too...

  9. It has been over a month since biometrics and still nothing. Trying to stay calm. My husband called USCIS and they said we have to wait until 75 days and do an inquiry. They also said our case has not been transferred to Albuquerque yet so they don't know when any interview might be coming up. They said that the wait at Albuquerque is 5 months for the green card though so at least that is comforting. Trying not to get too worried - I need my husband to get a job soon so I can leave the job that is making me physically (and mentally and emotionally) ill from stress.

no worries. i think a month is pretty normal. Someone told me the FBI needs about a month to do all the checks they need to do. I am sure you will hear from USCIS this week.

  10. We're in Los Angeles, not LA County. Don't worry, yours should follow quickly. I even had an RFE haha!

haha. well i hope i am on day 43 and my biometrics is scheduled for the 10th. it seems like everyone else had their biometrics no later than 30 days after uscis got their case... i tried a walk in but got rejected :-( it's amazing that it took only three months until you can go to the interview. wow!! i hope they hurry a little bit with my case now too...

  11. Just woke up to a text message that my interview is now ready to be scheduled in early December. I've heard this is the approximate timeline for several Los Angeles-area filers too, from a couple of attorneys I've spoken to. Still weird that my EAD/AP hasn't been approved yet, considering that the application has already been considered prima-facie eligible to be scheduled for an interview.

Oh well, not complaining at all! Glad that the system is moving things along quickly and that I should hopefully have my Green Card approved, in under 3 months from the time I sent my packages in.

Best wishes to everyone else in the process! :)

Are you LA county or LA? Cause I am in LA and everything seems to take way longer :-(
