We filed the AOS and the EAD separately, so now we have two NOA's and two appointments to have biometrics, on July 13 and again on July 18. I've been unable to contact USICS by telephone, so can anyone tell me... does my wife need to go to both appointments, or is one enough to cover everything?
Thanks!

Update: My case became available to check this morning. Whew! I just didn't want to have to pay the new fee for the AOS/EAD/AP package.
Thanks everyone and good luck!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue:
We filed the EAD (I-765) and received the NOA (June 22) with the Application Receipt Number. When I go to the USCIS site to add it, it says...
"Customer Portfolio Insert Failed
Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the app receipt number."
I have quaruple-checked the number. In the past, when I got the I-129F and I-485 NOA's I was able to add the case immediately and start tracking it.
I've sent an email to the webmaster, but is there something else I should do? I just want to make sure that they have my case, and that I can track it before the new fee schedule takes effect July 30th. In the meantime, I'll be a bit nervous about it.
Thanks!

I have a couple more questions as I am finalize everything...
Does CDJ want to see all this stuff packaged in a certain way, with ACCO fasteners and all that stuff like CSC wants?
Also the instructions are a bit confusing, because in my packet CDJ sent me a blank DS-156 and a blank DS-156K entirely in Spanish. So we know that the CDJ website says the EVAF DS-156 has to be completed online and whether you complete it in English or Spanish, it prints out in English (which is what the instructions at the State Dept indicate).
I feel sorry for the people who don't know about this and perhaps don't even own a computer and show up only with the form in the packet!
Also we noticed that the DS-156K example on VJ is different than the one in the packet (which matches the CDJ website).
So my fiancee and I are completing every different possible version of every form in English and Spanish in triplicate. I know that may be overkill, but I don't want to leave anything to chance.
Thanks again everyone for all your help!

My fiancee needs to get her affairs in order before she can fly here.
Does she absolutely need to provide a date when she will come to the USA on the DS-156?
OOPS NEVER MIND
I see now it says "provide specific date if known"

Hi again everyone!
Well my fiancee and I are completing the DS-156 now, and I think we are all set.
We plan to arrive in Juarez on the 26th, go to the medical exam on the 27th, the consulate on the 28th and fly back to Mexico City on the 29th.
I'm keeping my fingers (and other body parts) crossed!
Thanks to everyone on VJ, I'm feeling pretty confident that we will finally get the visa.
GOOD LUCK

More questions...
I received my packet from CDJ, but my fiancee in Mexico has not received hers. Are they exactly the same and can she go with my copy of the appointment letter?
-
Another question,
My appointment letter wasn't signed, it just says
"Sincerely
Chief, Immigrant Visa Branch"
Is this a problem or not?
-
Hi again,
I received my packet from CDJ and I am collecting documentation for the interview.
Do we need to mail anything back to CDJ before we go?
Thanks again!

Thanks again KitKat!
Do we submit the DS-156 or the DS-156K or both?

Hi again everyone,
Quick question regarding the I-134:
What's your answer for #11, do or do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person?
She will be living with me and I'll be supporting her and hopefullt she'll be able to get a good career going to help supplement our income later.
I'm just wondering what they expect to see regarding "specific" contributions?
Thanks again!

2 questions for those who have been there...
1. Which hotel is closest or highly recommended?
2. What is invloved with the medical exam?
Thanks and tally ho!!!

JessRaul,
When I filed my petition back in July, CSC gave me a case number that I tracked online, but on when it was forwarded to the consulate, they assigned it a new case number, beginning with CDJnnnn.
So that's why I asked, do you have that new number to verify when you got in CDJ's system?
-
On October 30th I received an email from CDJ: "Hello: This case has just been received and will be processed in the next few days. As soon as we process it we will mail a packet with forms and instructions."
Today I received the following reply after requesting and update: "Hello: We have not sent the K1 packet yet, as soon as the case is processed we will mail the packet."
IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS? I wish I could do that on my job, tell the client they;ll have it in the next few days, and two weeks later say I still haven't got around to it.
Hi JessRaul!
When did you first get a CDJ Case Number? I assume October 10, correct?
As if CSC wasn't frustrating enough, this is even more so.
-
Thanks fo the quick reply!
I plan to submit originals and copies for evryhting, except I have two concerns.
1. Tax forms - it makes me nervous to provide any originals I can't easily replace if lost.
2. Paystubs & W-2's: for the past 2 years all my paystubs and W-2s have been provided to me in electronic version ONLY, so that's all I can provide is printed copies of them and I pray that will suffice.
Does anybody have any experience in either of these situations?
Thanks again!

Thanks!

NOA2 on July 10th and touched on July 20th (I have never called or emailed), nothing since.

Here ya go. This is how USICS says "WE SUCK #######!" They now want make sure they are as honest as possible about their level of suckage. It a new campaign to make sure everyone has very low expectations of them. In escence...We suck, we know we suck, you know we suck, we like to suck and we aren't ever going to do anything to not suck.
http://www.visaportal.com/agencies/article...?article_id=173
Well, the way I interpret this is that they intend to improve the way they suck.
Has anybody noticed that the CSC updated their page from August 25th to August 28th (yet no change to K-1, still February 23)?
So I see now. they will improve the way they report their improved sucking.

Well in my experience, more signatures always means more attention and quicker action.
The petition doesn't state "each of us has been waiting six months" and I'm not trying to get my name on some magic list that USCIS would look at first.
In fact, I simply support everyone who has been waiting to go through the process legally, and I detest "line-jumpers".
My fiancée and I are patient but we don't like this huge backlog in front of us either. We'd like to help all of you who have been waiting to get through as much as possible.
I think the petition is a great idea, and I was disappointed to see it only had 38 signatures.
-
I simply thought the more signatures we get, the more priority might be placed.
Sorry I'll just get back in line and be quiet.
-
Must we have been waiting 6 months? All of us who have submitted I-129F's after the new form was available are also surely impacted by the backlog at CSC.
-
I concur with everyone and would like to express my appreciation to Gary for giving us a better picture of the process and the progress that we are making.
Gary don't forget us when you get the good news, which I'm sure will be any day now.
Great job!!!
Interview
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

In our case was very easy and faster:
Rase your right hand, do you swear to say the truth... yes I do. (Both of us at the same time).
Then she asked me my name, birthday, city of birth, adress, work, country, my parents first names, if they are living in Mexico and all the questions that the answer is no in the forms, like be acused, etc...
After that she asked my husband the same about himself and how did we meet.
She asked us documents that proof our relationship (joint accounts, etc.) and that was it.
She approved and we are waiting for the letter of approval in the mail and of course for my green card.
