  1. Saw this on the embassy site today:

    https://pk.usembassy.gov/news-alert-k-visas/

Effective December 01, 2016, U.S. Embassy, Islamabad has launched a new procedure for all K-visa applicants in order to get an online appointment for their Visa Interviews.

This link will take you to Global Support Services (GSS) website for complete information about the new procedure and required documents to set an online appointment.

I assume this applies for fiance visas.

Does anyone know what this means?

  2. So I called NVC and got a case # / invoice ID #

I am trying to enter the number here to check status / pull up information on page:

    https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

(Select Pakistan, Islamabad, and NON IMMIGRANT VISA option)

But it keeps giving an invalid case number? Is this the wrong place to check or do we still have to keep calling in to find out once it has left?

  3. I called the NVC again this morning. Case still hasn't been received. Ugh. Does anyone else with an NOA2 date close to 11/3 have anything to report from the NVC?

11/1 NOA2, got it in yesterday. If it helps call in the evening because I called in the morning and they didnt have it, but they had it later in the afternoon.

Does anyone know when NVC closes today, being thanks giving tomorrow?

  4. hello,

the whole process takes 210 to 230 days from the day 1 to interview.

i applied the k1 case in April 2016 and NVC transferred my case to Islamabad embassy on 2nd of Aug 2016 and US embassy Islamabad created my case on 16th Aug 2016, after submission of DS160 online form they asked me to send my passport and other documents in Sep and i received the interview letter on 28th Sep 2016 for 20th Nov 2016.

    good luck

Did you have an RFE or anything like that?

  5. I called them at 603-334-0700. The guy was pretty terse with me so I just thanked him for the update and didn't bother with any further interaction. Some folks here on VJ have said that the evening NVC people are nicer. I think that's true based on my experience so far!

Good to know we're not alone! How often are you calling? Some people here call daily or even twice a day. I wish I had time for that!

I called last week and it had not arrived. Looking at the September filers, it seems that our batch is coming closer and technically should be sometime this week they receive it.

I did call pretty early in the morning, maybe they hadn't had time to process the batch from this weekend?

I can try calling this evening but I doubt there will be any new update

  6. Called NVC today and found out that they received my packet yesterday. Whooo! It's looking like it takes a day or two for the case number to be assigned? So, I'll try calling back tomorrow or later this evening. Heheh.

Called NVC early this morning too but haven't heard back yet.

Is your NOA1 / NOA2 dates the day you got your physical copy in mail or online?

If any case I think mine should be next week as your NOA2 was approved a bit faster than ours :D

  7. Maybe I am wrong, but the 0700 number would never lead me to a prompt, and I'd always get hung up on ("We're too busy. Call back later."). I have a fiancee visa. I called the 0888 number, which answered and prompted me with a menu that lead me to someone who checked for my fiancee visa USCIS case # -- wait for answer less than 10 minutes.

Phone (for immigrant visa inquiries only):

    (603) 334-0700. Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays.

Phone (for nonimmigrant visa inquiries only):

    (603) 334-0888. Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays.

    From:

    https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/nvc/nvc-contact-information.html

So if 0888 is for the non-immigrant visa...why are people calling 0700 to check status on NVC...?

  8. I believe you might have dialed the wrong number and it's possible they gave you incorrect information (petition has not arrived when, in fact, it may have). From what I've seen posted here, 603-334-0700 is the correct number because the K1 visa is a nonimmigrant visa (with immigrant intent).

So one person is saying 603 334-0700 is the immigrant visa

Then there is (603) 334-0888 for non-immigrant visa?

Can some one clarify whats the right number to call?

Fiance visa is a nonimmigrant visa correct?

  9. I am concerned for my fiance. She in in Pakistan and we just got our NOA2 in the mail.

Here is what Trump wants to do in the first 100 days:

    http://www.npr.org/2016/10/27/499489585/the-first-100-days-what-clinton-and-trump-want-to-get-done

Trump would also have the power to deport more than 2 million criminals in the country illegally, halt immigration from parts of the world he calls "terror prone," and quickly reverse many of the initiatives undertaken by President Obama.

^ This would basically include a bunch of Muslim countries including Pakistan

Anyone have any idea how long it takes an executive order to take effect?
