  1. I think something is screwy. Hubby did Bio 7/5/07 and we recieved the letter for the I-751 BIO. Fingerprints are only good for I think 15 months, Definalty make that info pass appointment. Refund from the government not on our life. They do not even refund if they reject an application once check is cashed

PS can you please update your time line thanks :D

    Updated!

  2. I did not have new biometrics done when I filed for my 10 year greencard, I was told that because I had biometrics done within the last 24 months (I had filed a I90 to replace my 2 year card) There was no need to have them redone. I had no issues getting the 10 year card and they had used the same photo as the one on the 2 year card.

Thanks! This is good to know.

Makes me feel a litte better and make sense. My last biometrics were taken on June 6,2007 i send my I-751 on 4/21/09 and the NOA is dated 4/28/09. This is so weird i wonder if i will need to have an interview.Would be nice if not biometrics, no interview and i get my 10 year card in the mail. :-)

Acctually i am not trying to figure out anything anymore. When i got my 2 year GC the letter said that i will not be notified when is time for renewal. However i did receive a letter- reminder that it is time to file for I-751. How about that?!

Heard they were doing that with the N-400 for USC if your fingerprints were less than 15 months old, but Emilio, the old head of the USCIS told congress, it still cost him 80 bucks to save and retrieve that information so he still charges it. The I-751 also requires a photo, but guess that has changed, but informing you if they are going to use your old stuff, has not. So you are left hanging and wondering what's going on.

Much prefer buying something off the internet for five bucks where you instantly get a confirmation of your order, then a day later, the tracking number for your item. Too bad the USCIS cannot or refuses to operate that way. And your whole life centers around the USCIS wondering when an appointment letter will come in so you can make plans. Perhaps, a letter to your congressman would help, if he received enough of them.

Thanks for the info. The only thing that actually bothers me if that i can not check the status on my case not. The receip number form the NOA is not showing in the system.

  3. I would call again to the 1-800 and also and Infopass just to be 10000% sure that everything is right. Sound to me that something is wrong with your case. All I-751 should have a new set of biometrics per person.

    Good luck.

I actually called 2 more times and spoke with different reps and the only thing they had to say is wait 45 day and we will put another service request. If you need to know something meanwhile make an info pass apointment. When i told them that i paid for the biometrics thay said in general they do not refund money, but if i want i can write a letter.

  4. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I have filed I-751 on 4/28/09 till today no biometrics notice. I called on 7/28/09 to inquire about the status of my petition and the lady was very nice and put in a service request for biometrics. Today 7/31/09 i got an e-mail from CRIS saying: " The status of this service request is: Our records indicate that we received your biometrics on June 9, 2007. It will not be necessary for you to attend another ASC appointment".

I am so confused. I have paid for the biometrics and i tought that they are mandatory.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Did CRIS email indicate which case was it referring to? your new I-751 case or the old AOS case?

CRIS reference all the info about I-751 - filing date, receipt number and when i call them i did not have my alien number , but it is also referenced in the e-mail.

HHM maybe they entered someone else's prints under your number. You may be better off with an infopass to be on the safe side.

Yes, that is what i tought and i already made an appointment. Will see what they have to say. Just it is so weird.Maybe they are trying to cut cost?!

  6. Hi There,

i was just wondering if this has happened to anybody else.

I send my AOS & EAD at the end of march this year to Chicago lockbox. On May 02,2007 i received a notice that in order to speed up the process my case was transfered to CSC.That is fine but till now i haven't had an appointment for Biometrics. Is this normal?

Please share your oppinion and experience on the matter.

  7. The NVC spelled my fiance's name wrong on the letter to me stating that they forwarded my I-129F petition to the USE in Manila. They have confirmed verbally that it is spelled wrong in their computer sysyem. The name is spelled correctly on all my I-129F papers and on the USCIS I-797C Notice of Action (petition approval). The Receipt Number on the NVC letter matches the Receipt Number on the USCIS I-797C.

Is this going to be a problem? Does the USE use the beneficiary name on the I-129F and I-797C or the name provided by the NVC?

Did anyone else have a similar problem and if so what did you do?

Hi, i am in the same situation like you-even worst. My name was mistaken all over -in Noa1,NOA2, NVC Letter-all over.My fiancee called VSC and requested new NOA2 with correct name,at NVC they said that they can not do anything and we need to call the embassy in Bulgaria.I will call them later today and see what the deal is.

For NVC to fix it you need to catch it before they send it to Manila. After they send it to Manila they will say you have to contact Manila to fix it.

    Thanks so much for responding..

That is exactly what they told us.

  8. Please do not generalize. NVC did a good job in your case. Not for everybody. Please choose your words carefully. Some of us have been waiting for weeks for NVC to forward files to our embassy so the fact your file was sent quickly does not mean they are doing so for everyone.

    Hi guys,

i have great news - finally my case has been forwarded to The US Embassy in Bulgaria. Pretty quick i have to say.NVC is doing a great job and very fast.

I wish to all of you so expedite service as mine.

However there is still something that is bugging me now.My name was misspelled in the letter from NVC, i am not sure about NOA1 and NOA2( i have to check with my fiancee) but if it is so what should i do.It is not a big deal i guess because only 1 letter is missing in my first name. What do you guys think?

Sorry, i didn't want to frustrate anyone. I will keep that in mind.

If you are still waiting i will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you, Steven and Jinky, i will follow your advice.

Notify USCIS since they are the ones that made the typo. They will re-issue you an new NOA2 for the embassy. I wouldn't take any chances of something like this holding you up during the interview. Call the 1-800 and follow the prompts regarding a petition that has already approved. I believe they have the option if you are calling regarding an error. Please don't wait.:star:

  10. I am almost sure but i want to double check it and as i know that here there are a lot of competent people i would like to ask:" Is a police certificate needed for a former resident in USA at the interview for K1?"

I mean that i used to live in USA for 3 years but i am not there since Jan 12,2006 and i do not know whether i need a police certificate covering my 3 years in The USA.

    All opinions are appreciated.
