  1. My wife is petitioning her mother. We've already completed i-130, and are now completing ds-260.

There is a question in the 'Previous US Travel Information' section asking if she had ever been refused a US visa. She applied for a tourist visa about 4 years ago while my wife wasn't working and hadn't become a citizen yet, and was denied. My question is, should we bother answering yes to this question and explaining? It seems like it could unnecessarily complicate things.

    I have the same issue.

Im now filling out the ds-260 form and had a denied tourist visa 6 years ago.

What did you answer? What did you write in the explanation?

    Did you got approved?

  2. Hey guys,

So I'm a US citizen and live in Brazil with my wife... I applied for the CR-1 in february... we were able to get through immigration with no problem. I waited in line and we entered together. The airport was SFO (san francisco). The officer asked if we lived in Brazil and what was the purpose of our visit and how long we would be staying. Nothing else. We told him leisure and six weeks.

    it's always a relief!

By the way, we brought a bunch of proof of her ties to Brazil. I just left a job and she is unemployed. She has an apartment, a car. I also brought proof of recently paid utility bills of the house we live in. We also have a ticket bought for a trip around south america in late May. We didnt have to use any of this,

Did she take the proof of her ties to Brazil in portuguese? or translated?

  3. My wife sold her apartment in Brazil and has about $25,000 US worth of Reales in a bank in Brazil.

What is the best way to get it to the US?

She is hearing that bank transfer fees and taxes total 23% of the amount sent, which seems crazy to me. Short of flying down there and getting it, is there any way to do this without losing a ridiculous amount?

Hi, did you find a better a way to send this money from Brazil to US? Because Im going through the same problem.

  4. Hi everyone, I haven't been very active for a while now, first, for my own sanity, waiting, and these days because we came to the US in August, had our marriage celebrations, my husband had to leave, and I have stayed and started a new job.

So I'm happy to say that we have received notification from an app (I haven't gotten an email yet) that on the 26th our petition was approved. Never had an RFE, also happy to say. Waited almost 6 months. (ohh, Nebraska...)

We're so relieved. But know there miles to go before we rest.

He's not quite prepared to make the move yet (we are small business owners in Spain) so we are hoping that when he comes to visit in December we won't have any problems. Just having on hand all types of proof that he will once again visit, and return to Spain.

    Hello,

Im at the same situation because we are going to spend Christmas in US but we are not ready to move.

Which kind of proof are he taking?

In my case Im still working abroad and my daughter is studying. (my husband is a US citizien and live abroad with us)

  5. I called them yesterday and they said they can't open up a service request for me over the phone and I should do it online as I am outside the " normal processing time "

I opened up an online request last night. Has this happened to anyone here before? How long does it take for them to review the case ? The girl on the phone was very rude and said it could take up to 15 days or more . Ughhh.. I am so stressed !! I am trying to be patient but, its so hard :(

I openned an online request too (My PD is March 23th) but I got the message "Expect reply by November 10"!!! One more month!!! I don´t know why its taking too long.

I will try to call them tomorrow...

  6. Good Morning ,

How many March fillers are still waiting for I-130 approval ? My PD is March 29th. Spoke to Tier 2 supervisor this morning and he said " YOU'RE STILL WITHIN THE PROCESSING TIME AS NEBRASKA IS PROCESSING CASES FROM MARCH 2ND " which I know is a COMPLETE lie . I have a friend who filled in May and had her approval two weeks ago. I am so upset . I don't know what to do. He won't open a service request for me . He said to call back in 45 days and he will open one but, right now I have to WAIT.

    Hello,

I´m at the exactly same situation. My PD is March 23th and I´m still waiting.

We talked to Tier 2 officer and got the same answer and we can not open a service request.

The problem is the Processing Time for Nebraska is still March 2nd so for them we are within the time.

I´m getting so frustraded. In one week is going to complete 7 months. :(

We just got approved today. April 29 PD. try calling again for a Tier 2. I had my hubby ready with answers. So When they said they March 2 thing he highlighted that he has the app and its not correct. Keep statistics ready of i130, 1000 or so before and after you. He also highlighted processing as of March 2 is an end July update as per info on USCIS site.

They did say to him it can take even 10 months.... Bit they did approve 3 to 4 days after call.

The first call to Tier2 was as fruitless as yours. Good luck.

Wich app are you using to check the statistics?

  7. I am so upset you guys. Our PD is March 29th and still nothing. We will be hitting 6 months mark in just 3 days. Every case around me is processed either approved or RFE'S.

I have called them a couple times just to hear the same answers. I don't even know what to do anymore. Any suggestions?

I am at the exactly same situation. My PD is March 23th and still nothing...

If you get any updates please let me know...
