I'm sorry to hear about that. But I don't want to speculate since you're in tourist visa and I am in K1 it's way more different and as far as I am aware that tourist Visa is hard if you don't have a reasonable reason to visit a country. But still don't lose hope Good luck and God bless :)

Thanks Jessie , on the contrary I am very hopeful last time it took nearly an year, and this time I have seen at least two updates in the last month, I have yet to see anyone not getting a visa after such a long administrative processing.

  2. Unfortunately since you are directly connected to the Dept. of Defense, the chances were insanely low for the get go. They AP lowly chemistry teachers from friendly Euro countries like France....someone working for a country with less than perfect relations with the US and in their department of defense is just going to be viewed as an extra risk. I know it's lame but that's just the way the ball bounces in these situations.

There was a case on here recently of a woman being denied a B-2 to visit her dying mother in the US. She had no special reasons for AP (other than being from Pakistan) and she was also denied. Unfortunately for some innocent people in certain countries it's just getting harder and harder to get a visitor visa. :(

    Dear millefleur

If they wanted to deny me the visa from the get go they could have >there and then< given me the form saying "you do not show strong ties " section 214 (b) of the immigration act, because they considered me and put me under section 221 (g) AP , I am hopeful that at least there might be light at the end of the tunnel.

I have previously traveled to the US and returned without any incidents.

  3. Visa rule #1: Never book tickets, or tours for anything until you have the visa in hand. Don't worry Yogi is not going anywhere.

I believe all visa literature states not to book travel until you have it in hand. The embassy is not responsible for your deposit.

I think by the time I reach Yogi's grand children would be adults.

I have traveled allot and know very well when to book my tickets, The thing is I would have never booked, but the Yellowstone park services had a rule that If I have to go on a specific package I had to pay an Ir-refundeble amount 2 months prior otherwise no confirmation was given. No confirmation means I had nothing to show to the VO.

Nevertheless I do not blame the embassy for my deposit but rather their "administrative processing" procedure.

  4. I wished I was never on this forum, but I am because of AP(administrative processing)... Well ; my history was quite diabolical! ...so i started a new thread. :)
I had applied for a B1B2 visa in april 2006, i got into AP...and on 21 st december 2006 i received my visa, so i visted the US in 2006 and then again in 2009, the visa was valid till 2011.

On 15 th june 2016 i applied again, but now things are more fishy, as I work for a company that works for ministry of defense pakistan, the VO told me...

VO: i approve u the visa but do you have your CV?
Jan: no its a tourist visa , thats why i did not bring my CV?
VO: ok send it to me ...sorry you will have to go through AP?
Jan : mam this is like last time, i had to wait 8 months ? This time I have booked a package tour with yellow stone park ...i will loose my deposit?

    VO: shrugs her shoulders...

    My question here is
    1. that do they have any records of people who have cleared AP before, or they start a fresh.
    2. Iread the AP explained and they send your name to different departments, CIA, FBI, dept. Of commerce! And the dept of polliferation.
    3. Administrative processing is section 221 (g) the letter pasted above is refusal under 214 (b) , Please my question is the same have people been denied a visa after Administrative processing If Yes what are their stories.

Please let me know your opinions.....

PS i have already missed my vaccation...

  5. Hi all.

i applied for a tourist visa B1 B2 in US embassy Islamabad on 16th June 2016, I was put in AP, till today I am still in AP, I have visited the US twice once in 2006 and then in 2009, In 2006 when I applied for a US visa I was put in administrative processing and then I was cleared after 8 months.

Now again I have been put in AP , do you think I have to wait for 8 months again.

Please people of Pakistan share your timelines that you got cleared from AP for a visit visa.

PS: being stuck in administrative processing is like delivering a baby , that gets stuck, it is painful and at the same time you do not know the outcome.last time the baby was born in 8 months...:)

  6. I have applied for a B1 B2 visa and have been cursed with "administrative processing" .

    Interview date 16 June 2016.

Last check status 02 October 2016.Status: Administrative processing.

I previously had a visa and went to the US in 2006 and then in 2009.

In 2006 when I was issued a US visa I was put in Administrative processing then also and had to wait 8 months.

what do you all think How long will I have to wait now?, will it be issued or revoked?

  7. Dear millefluer..

Thanks for the reply, not only it is befitting but informative and compassinate too... I till date, have not written to the US embassy islamabad, because i did not want a "copy nd paste" answer.:)

    Well... Just as an anecdote

Here is what US embassy islamabad should put on their page of "administrative processing" times in Pakistan...

This picture speaks volumes...here is a father and son waiting for administrative procssing to complete...the before and after...:)

If i am not a theive? Or never have been? How can they put me in a catagory where they think i will do theft? This is just absurd...
