  1. If you're using Adobe Acrobat, you can't even type N/A. In fact if you really have to type N/A on all the unrelated blanks, the form would look ridiculous.

If you want to take it very literally, then just use the name on the front of your Green Card, leaving the middle name blank. Many people leave unrelated blanks empty and it's been fine.

It'll still be fine if you fill in your full legal name as appeared on your passport, because this is a non-issue either way--you'll have to submit a copy of your Green Card anyway, and the officer can see for him or herself.

Thanks for the insight. I was planning to white N/A on all unrelated blanks after printing the form. You are absolutely right, you couldn't type N/A on the form using Adobe Acrobat.

I just use my complete name then, as appeared on my passport as well as the back of my green card. Thank you so much.

  2. Hi to all! I am hoping somebody knows the right thing to do here.

I have a question regarding Item Number 2 of form N-400: Your name Exactly As It Appears on Your Permanent Resident Card

Which one, the front or the back side?

As I see in my greencard, the front side (where the picture is) bears my surname (six letters which is complete and correct),

it also bears my Given Name (I have two first names) where in the second name is just the first letter. My middle name is not there.

However at the back side of the greencard, below the magnetic part, it bears my complete name separated by "<"

    Which should I use then?
