  1. I'm a physician, trained in the US so we'll see. Jeremy Hunt seems to have some idea in his head that they will be able to fill the gaps with more UK-trained physicians. While the UK probably could do with a few more medical schools, you can't just create them in a year. It takes a lot of infrastructure to increase medical training since they have to be integrated into hospitals. There aren't many US-trained physicians that go to the UK though because the pay is so much lower. To start we are trying to see if my wife gets a job here first, at least until we have school aged kids (She'd rather send her kids to school in the UK than the US).

I agree with a lot of what you said. My partner is UK born and UK trained Doctor( so he is doing the opposite of what you guys are doing lol). He is moving to the US and we did discuss all the re-training and differences in medicine in both places. HE has struggled for a long time with the NHS and how it is run . He did mention that in the US he would get paid almost double( when all is said and done) but its not even about that. He has mentioned the many times everything has seemed disorganized, he hasn't felt supported , and of course the head of it trying to do more hours and less pay.

And i say this by saying there is no perfect system ( the US one has many flaws, believe me ! lol) but its certainly some things to consider. Especially if your partner can't work or you are unhappy. But honestly i agree with you and think they would welcome a US trained person with great qualifications. And maybe when you do consider moving in the future things will look better on that side of the pond:)

  2. Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. Didn't realize you couldn't have a sponsor. I guess also moving together is harder than having one person in each country. If we were to move back it would be with my wife transferring offices at a job since she works in an international industry.

Do you know if there are certain jobs that get an easier pass for UK immigration? Once brexit happens they'll lose a lot of medics so wonder if that will be an easy way in.

Well its def true that they are losing a lot of medics due to Brexit. My partner works at one of the NHS hospitals(until he loves here in a few months) and they are losing people left and right. A few surgeon, doctors and nurses from countries in the EU, have gone back to their countries because they either fear the backlash or are uncertain if they can even work in the UK in the future. So depending if either one of you are medically trained, it may be a great place to start.

  3. He has his Vaccine records, and it looks like he has everything covered, but he'll find out at the medical just in case we missed something. Most likely, unless it's something the require for the actual K1 entry into the US, we'll just have them done here on my insurance, too.

OK, I'll look for a tall guy with earbuds, haha! And yes! I'll be your proxy and give your fiance the thumbs up!

Im hoping You guys ( allison/robert and ceisenbruch) come back and give updates on your interview. Ours is not long after yours and id be curious to hear about Londons embassy and the interviews. :secret:

  4. Sorry, I forgot to answer this. We have to delay our petition for family reasons. My family travels a lot and we wanted them to be at the wedding, so we had to push it to late April. We are hoping for a March 1St entry date! I am also hoping to be there for his interview. It is not even close to required by London, but I am curious to see the embassy lol.

Now I just need that stupid LND number!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Okay, That makes sense ! I hope you get the dates you need. Im really surprised its taking so long to NVC but I'm sure it will be there soon. We were NOA2 9/13 and received our number last monday. SO yours has to be close. I really don't know how they do it over there its very strange lol

Still hoping all others waiting for their approvals will get them soon!

  5. Good luck! I hope you are getting that early date that you need!

Keep me in your thoughts for my NVC call tonight >< I just want that number! I feel like USCIS somehow figured out that Jon and I are planning to intentionally delay our peition so we can have an interview in January and are deciding to test my nerves and patience!!! So mean!

Just curious why you were intentionally delaying your petition(sorry if i missed you saying it in earlier posts). We are also looking to have our interview towards the end of the year (dec-jan)and have had to intricately plan everything so it works out . So i was just curious lol

As far as booking interviews in London. We were able to do so after it said in transit for about 3 days. My partner didn't complete the ds-160 but didn't have a problem scheduling so it seems possible.

  6. Well isn't that the question of the hour HA. I'm not sure. He's not sure. But he said he's on track to finishing this year still. I think honestly he has an idea but because every time he tells me he's done they change the date so I think he's waiting to tell me until it's for real this time. So in the meantime I'm doing all the research that needs to be done before we file.

    Welcome jdweaze!

We just started our visa process and are US/ UK filers. I'm a US citizen and my fiancé is British military as well(Navy). We decided to do the K-1 because it def seemed the best and fastest route( from what we saw. Our approval( NOA 2) took less than two months but we are also waiting on him to get discharge paperwork . There doesn't seem to be a problem with applying as military as long as u have the paperwork and all your stuff filed correctly. :)
