ADT - I called and got our case number the day after they confirmed that they had received it. Call tomorrow during the second half of the day!

And also BAM! We got our interview date today!! November 29. Thank you, Australia!!

Hang in there everyone! Our case took exactly 3 weeks to get to NVC. Since then we have been flying through (I think). It will all happen before we know it. The Sydney consulate emailed us today and let us know that it has received our case.

Hi all! we just submitted our DS-160 online. Is there anything else we need to complete before they assign us with an interview date? And I'm just double checking that Sydney will email us back with the interview date, correct?

What evidence do we need to provide if you are over the 100% poverty limit & even 125% over?

Do we really need to send 3 years of tax forms?

Current pay stubs or letter of employment? I would check with other filers at your embassy in the regional forums and see what your country really looks at at the interview.

It took us 3 weeks exactly to get our case number from NVC and that was with me calling.

We just finished filling out the DS-160 form. Holy moley that was intense. 3 hours. We are having it looked over and double checked and then submitting it online tomorrow. Once submitted the consulate in Sydney will contact us with an interview date! So hopefully sometime next week we could know our interview date.

Agree it may depend on your religions. But the we have to wonder at what point does the separation of church and state go into that decision making.

Has anyone from August scheduled their interview yet? I know there were a handful of people from our group that are flying through the process so far.

Personally, for us hiring a lawyer was worth it. We both tend to easily stress out sometimes, and whenever either one of us has a freak out over any part of this process our lawyer has eased our minds that everything is and will be ok. That and her overseeing all the paperwork was worth it for us but I think every couple is different.

Yes, 45 days exactly. I was an Aug 9 NOA1.

I feel like a jerk but now we are back on track and way closer than we thought we were. Not bad.

Well I have amazing news - I was looking up the wrong case # (334 instead of 344 but anyway). We DID receive our NOA2 2 weeks ago! NO RFE! I feel so silly for tracking the wrong case number but SO HAPPY!

We are still waiting for our RFE in the mail to see what it is that they need from us. Hopefully early next week we get it and quickly get whatever it is sorted and sent back.

ADT, you're due anytime now for your approval I bet it's next week too

The people one case above me also got an RFE today, as well as a handful of other cases around ours. No approvals. Maybe our case worker was just in a mood

ADT, that's what I told my fiancé. Hopefully this just tacks on another couple weeks and not months. He's mad cause we paid a lawyer. I feel like it's something silly like we checked something wrong or they need more background check on me or something(I have a very common first and last name, but have never been arrested or anything).

We sent in a ton of photos. He was living in America on a different visa the last year and a half so the fact that we've met is very clear lol. I did not label the back of the photos though. I really hope that is not it.

We got an RFE today. I have mixed emotions because we hired a lawyer to submit everything so I don't know what could possibly be missing. BUT at least they finally looked at our case!

I just talked to my Fiance and it turns out he already has a ss# because he worked in the US for 6 years. But he did tell me it took 8 weeks to receive his ss# the first time. We have to figure out if his number is still valid but just wanted to let you know what I found out because we are planning on getting married 4 weeks after he enters the country next June (figures crossed)

Once you have a Social Security number that is your number forever Still valid.
