  1. So on the form I-485, it asks household size. I am the petitioner for my husband for AOS through the K-1. The form asks to list the number of people you're sponsoring (1, for my husband) then you add yourself (1). It also asks to put in 1 if you're married. Now that makes 3, and my household is only 2 (Just myself and him). Im sure this is something simple and straightforward but for some reason i cannot wrap my head around it. I don't want to leave the space blank when it asks to count your spouse, but that's technically counting him twice then. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  2. I'm hoping for some advice. For some reason or another i thought i had one year after my Husband entered the US to file for AOS. After doing some reading, it looks like i way way off. I'm almost through gathering all the needed evidence for the application but it will now be sent almost 7 months after we were married (6/17/17) and his entry to the US (6/7/17). Anybody have any idea what issues I may now run into so i know what to expect down the road?? Thanks in advance for the help.

  3. So my fiancee and I have completed all the necessary steps to include the DS-160, applicant readiness form, and have scheduled his medical for April 21st. I went on the site to schedule the K-1 visa consular interview at the London Embassy and was only presented with one day of March 30 as the next available appt. I was hoping they would provide a range of dates to choose from. Does anyone know how this works? Is it because perhaps the medical appt is over 30 days out? Any advice would appreciated.

    Thanks!

  4. Could someone clarify when an appointment letter, if one at all, is sent? I'm under the impression that since the beneficiary can schedule their own interview at the London embassy an appointment letter would not be sent. Ive read in some places that an appt letter is needed at the interview, so i'm slightly confused. Any clarification would be great appreciated. Thanks!!

We actually found a butcher a couple of hours away that has haggis. Personally, I can't stand it but when my guy was over here last month, my mum made him proper haggis, neeps and tatties and he loved it! I may have to try mastering that to make him ;). As for Irn Bru, we found a store in Portland that sells it so thankfully I won't suffer full withdrawal!

Ah thats awesome! My guy always says nothing better for a hangover than a bacon roll and Irn Bru! Now that i think of it though, Im sure he'll miss a proper Scottish breakfast the most! Nothing like that here for sure.

Oh that's cool, I'm only around a fifteen minute drive away from Dundee :)

Awesome! We met while i was over doing my master's at the uni there. Loved Scotland and am pretty sure miss it more than he will :)

Ok guys. After going through these forums some, ive decided against hiring an attorney and was hoping this forum could provide me the assistance i need to get my fiance a k1 visa. She lives in the uk. We have zero red flags, neither been married before, no criminal history on either, shes visited twice in last 6 months with receipts for proof, along with ample online chat records and phone logs for proof of relationship. Im just gonna want help making sure each form is perfectly filled out, as ive seen this can be a major inconvenience to deal with from researching the process. Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Same boat here Ryan63. My fiancé is from the UK, as well. We have very similar cases too. No previous marriages, no criminal history, sent plenty of proof etc. Just waiting on the NOA2 right now. I used all the guides and examples provided here on this site. Good Luck!

  8. I've been doing the research for the K-1 Visa for my fiancé to move to the States from Scotland and am slightly confused about some of what i've been reading on the internet. Hopefully someone else can clear this up: in regards to the financial support, I have been a student the last few years and have only been employed full time (and make over 100 of the poverty requirement) for the last 8 months and will not have a W-2 or my taxes filed until January. If the financial form is to be submitted before then, will pay stubs from the last few months be sufficient enough to be submitted as proof of support?
