  1. BlueRaiderUK,

I don't see the problem. If you (and he) want just he to be the Joint Sponsor then you put only his financial information on his I-864. Leave out any of her financial information, including joint assets.

    Yodrak

So, my joint sponsor is well above the poverty guidelines, but he filed a joint tax return with his spouse last year.

    What do I state for Q. 24 b for the current I-864?

Do I have to put his spouse's income too, even though we're not using that? By the way it's written, it points to yes, but then she'd have to use an I-864A, but we don't need to use her income to supplement the affidavit.

Also what do I put for Total Household Income? Just his income, or both together? I mean I don't want the total income from both to be considered to be meeting the Poverty guidelines, just his.

Sorry if this seems silly, I've been out of status for 5 months, and I want it to be done correctly.

    Thanks, Michael

    Hi.

My mom is in a similar position. The form makes it a bit confusing if you have someone who filed taxes with their spouse, but are the joint sponsor. On line 25 it asks for your total adjusted gross income from your tax form. Does she just put her part or the combined?

We thought combined but then, does she list her husband as a on 24b to make up the difference? (her income alone would be on line 24a) Then put the total in 24c?

Sorry if this has been asked before, just couldn't find an answer.

    THanks!

My mom put her's from her W2 in, and that was it. Didn't even put my dad's on the form, sent the W2s/taxes and we never had an issue.

    Fantastic, thank you!

  3. Hi everyone.

I'm a bit confused about question 24 on the I-864. I am filing for my husband who is applying for AOS.

I looked at the sample form for the I-864 and it has 24e checked and the spouse's name written into "The person listed above, Jane Jone Smith, does not need..."

However in the 'above' section (24b) it lists none, not the spouse's name.

When I did it on my own, I left 24e blank, figuring it didn't apply as I wrote 'none' in 24b, but now I'm feeling a bit confused by it all.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Krisitna

  4. Yes, you have that right, h. Other I entered on K-3 visa...

You are wrong, Yodrak is right (as usual). The answer as always except for K-1, is "A".

    Question...

    Above you wrote,

"Choice (a) - as a K3 you are applying for adjustment on the basis of an approved I-130 petition."

Did you mean I-129? Our I-130 has not been approved yet. Can we still apply for AOS or do we have to wait till our I-130 is approved?

    Thanks again,

    Kristina

  5. I am going to go with that address. I will ignore the other one listed for LIFE K3/4. Thanks.

We are in this exact boat!!

My husband is filling his out today and if you look on the downloaded (current version) form, it states that if you're filing under a(9) mail it to box 7218.

On the USCIS website it says if you are filing under a(9) to mail the application to Box 805887.

    Which should we go with?

  6. My husband's K3 Visa came in the mail today :)

We are wondering what others have done regarding switching bank accounts.

Was anyone able to keep their UK bank and have access (without a ton of fees) in the US?

Are there any banks that are in both the US/UK?

I know he'd need to have a SSN to open an account here. Just wondering what people did in the meantime.

Just wondering if people could share their experiences.

Sorry if there is info/posts on this already, I tried searching but it kept saying the feature was down.

    Thanks!

  7. Hi.

My husband had his interview this morning in London for his K3 Visa.

He said it went well (though a whole lot of waiting around!), but at the end they just said "everything seems to be okay, unless something goes wrong with your figerprints." They took his passport and that was sort of it.

Is this the common way it goes? Guess we were sort of hoping to hear a 'congratulations' or a definite 'you've been approved.' Just curious about other people's experiences.

Thanks so much, as always, for your help and input.

    Best,

    Kristina and Phillip

  8. We got our interview date today (SO EXCITED).

It's scheduled for March 5th, but our NOA2 expires on February 25th. Is there something we need to do to get it extended? Are there any cases where an earlier interview date was given to beat the NOA2 expiration? (I'm sure I read something like that happening, but not sure where).

Just wondering what others' experiences were like.

    -Kristina and Phillip

(I'm sure this is a repeat question. I did a quick search but didn't find an answer. Thanks for your help and sorry for asking a question, if it's been asked a million times before!)

The consulate can extend validity period for another 4 mos.

Thanks, is there something we need to do to have that done OR does it happen automatically?

  10. Hi.

My mother recently filled out the I134, affidavit of support to cosponser my husband on his K3 Visa.

She mailed it to me, so I can mail it over to London with mine.

Problem: She used white out on one of the lines, then wrote over it.

I've read mixed things about this. Has anyone used white out and had it be okay?

Should I have her redo it and mail it to me?

    Thanks,

    Kristina

  11. We're in a similar boat. Our I 129F was approved on October 25th. NVC has nothing on our case yet. Some take longer than others, I guess. I have seen people who were approved after us who's cases are at the embassy. It appears to be random.

Unfortunately, NVC and the NOA2 say it can take up to 90 days, so there is nothing we can do, but wait.

    Hang in there...

  12. Call the number again and press #1 (english) and #5 (operator). If they're very very busy, you'll hear something in spanish and then they'll send you back to the main menu. I just try the same thing again 2 minutes later and usually get an operator.

Give the operator your MSC receipt # and they'll let you know if your case has been received yet... etc.

    Good luck.

  13. Hi everyone.

I'm a little confused about when we hand in out affidavit of support. Up until recently, I was under the impression you give it in at the interview. Then I read a post saying you mail it in with the forms that come in packet 3. I've also heard of people doing both, to be safe, and/or that it varies from country to country...

Just curious what other people going through the London Embassy did when applying for the K3 visa.

Thanks very much for your help.

    Best,

    Kristina and Phillip

  14. I just received an email from NVC and they have my file!!!

Funny how I called yesterday and they didn't have it! :) :) :)

Congrats! I just called and still nothing :(

Sorry if this is a stupid question. How did NVC know your email address? Does everyone get an email from the NVC when they get the case?

Thanks and best wishes for the upcoming steps!

  15. Hi.

My husband freelances and he hopes to continue working for places in the UK after moving to the US on a K3 visa.

    My questions are:

    (1) Is this allowed?!?

    (2) Has anyone done something similar?

If someone has experience with this, I would love to ask more specific questions about filling out forms and such, because we don't want to lie or make a mistake.

    Thanks very much!

    Kristina

  16. Thanks for the answers.

The problem with the date stamps are that they are ALL stamped on top of one another and you can't make out one date from the next! It's a complete mess...

I would look at calendars from the past 3 years and recall the dates he visited, I find looking at a calendar helps me figure out things like that.

We've done that. We're sort of nervous that the dates may not be exact. We've gone through emails to try to find exact dates of flying back and forth. Guess my next question is, how accurate do these dates have to be? Can they be rough estimates?

    Thanks!
