My overall journey until I received visa interview date for my spouse was about 8 months.

Filed I-824 - Feb 13, 2016

I-824 approved - May 21, 2016

Case arrived at NVC - July 12, 2016

Case complete by NVC - Aug 19, 2016

Interview date given by NVC on - Sep 29th, 2016

Visa appointment date - Nov 3rd, 2016

This is the overall timeline. The main problem is that after NVC receives the case your priority date has to be current. My application was being processed by NVC but my priority date was not current. It because current from Sep 1, 2016. This is what caused a problem and I couldn't get an appointment for october. I had to wait another month. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am very happy to let everybody know that my wife was given an appointment for Nov 3rd. It's a big relief and thank you all for sharing information. I have been calling them everyday twice or thrice and was very worried that it would move out by another month, but luckily she got an appointment date today.....yaaaayyyyy

This is for a IR1/CR1 visa in Mumbai. I can't give any insight into E2 visas, and you're probably better off asking in the relevant sub-forum. Only thing i can say is call the NVC weekly at least.

Hi Congratulations...which consulate in India is this for. My case was approved on 8/19 and I am still waiting for an interview date for my spouse. My visa category is E2 though. Please let me know.

I am EB1. Most here on this forum are family based immigration so you wont find much information. At least the IR-1/CR-1 applicants are similar in the NVC path regarding the logistics. NVC has not yet started scheduling the next round of interviews. They will do so probably starting next week. Have you called them to find out if you are on the waiting list since your CC was a while ago? Unfortunately Mumbai and India is one of the busiest places, so it might take a while.

Anytime I call them they tell that i am waiting for a visa appointment date, but how do I get confirmation that I am on the waiting list. Please let me know. Is your visa consulate Mumbai as well for EB1? How long have you been waiting? Is your case complete. My application is a follow to join. Please let me know.

My case was completed on 8/19 as well but I haven't received an appointment date yet. I am in the EB2 or E2 visa category though and not CR-1/IR-1. Any idea if there is a separate forum for that? Please let me know. I would like to know if somebody else has been scheduled for an interview with case complete around 8/19 in E2 category.

I would appreciate if folks could respond to my question. My case was completed at NVC on 8/19. NVC says that they are waiting for interview date to be schedule. The consulate is Mumbai. Please let me know if there is anybody here who has received an interview date for Mumbai consulate recently and if yes, then what was their case complete date. Any idea how long is the wait for mumbai consulate to get an interview date. My priority date is Dec, 2004 and it is current. NVC said visa is available they are just waiting to schedule the interview.

I called NVC last time and they said I got my interview date already ???? It will be on October ? I am just waiting for the email of my appointment date ?

My case has been completed with NVC on 8/19, a lot of folks on the forum have written they also received an interview date for 8/19 case complete. My GC was approved via EB2 with a priority date of Dec 2004 which is current. NVC told me that my case document is also complete and I am waiting for an interview date to be scheduled for my spouse who is in India. Is there anybody else on the same boat waiting for an appointment date and their visa class is E2 which is basically EB2? Please let me know if you are in EB2 as well and if you have received an interview date. Thank you very much in advance.

I have filed for a follow to join application for my wife who is currently in India. She had a green card but it became invalid as she didn't travel for almost 4 years. I filed a new follow to join application in Feb of 2016 at Nebraska center. It was approved and sent to NVC in May. NVC has now completed all the documents on August 19 and we are now waiting for a visa interview date. On the forums I have been reading that folks with case complete of August 19th have received interview dates but we haven't received it yet. Our visa category on the NVC case status website shows as E2. Is this the right category for follow to join? I don't see any such cases in the forums and all I see is IR1/CR1 and family based visa's F2A/F2B and so on. My priority date is 29 Dec, 2004 so everything is in place but we don't have the interview date. Any ideas on what was the last appointment date given by mumbai consulate for follow to join applications? Please let me know. Thank you in advance for your responses.
