  1. Hi

I booked my interview for my visa at the London US Embassy at the beginning of November and the interview is scheduled for the start of January.

I booked the interview, as instructed via the following website: ais.usvisa-info.com

Once booked and also the courier information scheduled also, I received the confirmation email containing the information below:

'You have successfully scheduled your Immigrant Visa appointment on this website.

You must print this instruction page and bring it with you to your consular interview, along with the letter you received from the Consular Section.'

My question is that I haven't received a letter from the Consular Section confirming the interview. Infact apart form the letter which confrims my initial application has been accepted (NOA1 etc). Only the confirmation email itself. Who do I contact the chase this up and it is essential if I have the confirmation email?

    I hope you can help.

    Thanks

  3. Hi

    I hope someone can help.

We're a little hazy over what happens next and the correct procedure. We have been going through the steps here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/DCF_London which is a very useful link.

We're completing the I-864 and collecting required accompanying evidence.

Do I need to complete the DS-2001 and the DS 230 parts 1 and 2? does anyone have the most recent links to these forms?

Do these forms need to be completed before we receive the invitation to interview? Also, as we're DCF in London, which address to we send these forms to?

Are we doing anything wrong or missing any steps?

    Appreciate your help,

    Thanks

  4. Hey JFH

Not yet no. We're completing the I-864 as we speak. ps. I cant find anything on where or how to file this form? Is it sent electronically or does a physical copy have to be posted? and if so, where to? My wife is stateside and Im in London. do we send it to the embassy/same address that we sent the original etc I-130, or does she send it herself from US to the NVC?

    Thanks

Ps... good luck on the 6th December!!!

  5. Hi

We are in the process of completing the above form but have a question re Section 5.

My wife (Sole Sponsor) currently resides with her Mother and Step Father in their family home. My wife is not financially responsible for them and nor are they financially responsible for her. We do not also need to include them to meet the financial requirements of the visa application.

Do they need to be added and included within Part 5 point 7, on any section on the form due to residing at the same address?

    Thanks in advance.

    T

  6. The address is easy to find and you just to push the correct buzzer to gain entry.

Once you've enter the offices, there are two reception desks/counters where the staff will ask for the required documents and passport and before handing you a questionnaire and allergy information sheet which you will need to complete and hand back at the counter before handing you a container for a urine sample. The Urine sample is then handed back before you take a seat in the waiting room. There are plugs to allow you to charge your phone which is nice.

The next part, you are called into a room for a chest X-ray. Then back to the waiting room. Approximately 10 minutes later you then you are

then called into another room for a brief talk regarding your vaccinations and obviously do make sure you have had all of the required vaccinations before attending, or official evidence from your GP stating why certain vaccinations had not been given. (I made sure I had all the minimum requirements and a full list from my GP detailed all vaccinations to date. So long as you have started the course for shots such as the Heb B, then your fine. You don't need to have completed the full three Hep B shots before the Medical as this can add 6 months to the process) This lasts a couple of minutes before you go back to the waiting room for a further 15 - 20 minutes.

The last part is the full body medical where you are called into a third room. The Doctors asks you a couple of questions and goes over your answers to the questionnaire you completed on arrival. You are then asked to strip down to your underwear behind the curtain and lay down on the table. They then test your heart rate, breathing hearing, eye sight, blood pressure, stomach and joints for aches and pains before taking a blood test and examination of your genitals.

After this you are called to the reception desk where you will then need to make payment. The Medical now costs a flat rate of £290. The price was increased on September 1st. They hand you your original paperwork back accompanied with a receipt and medical report for your records which you will need to keep for your first visit to your new US based doctor if the application is successful.
If there are no concerns or queries, within 4 working days, your results are then sent to the National Visa Center.
    And that's it.

The whole experiences was really easy and everyone was friendly and professional, even if a little frank at times.

I hope this helps future applicants.

  7. Hey Thank you for your reply

I have just spoken my doctor to see if I could have the fly vaccine but they advised against it as I have been suffering with a chest infection and would need to be free of that infection for the flu shot can be given. Will this effect my medical this afternoon or is it worth just going go the chemist to get it there if it is essential?thanks

    Thanks :-)

  8. Hi

I have my medical this afternoon and have completed all my required vaccinations, or at least started the process (first stage of Hep B completed with 2nd booked in future), as you only have to show that you have started the process. however, I last had the Influenza vaccine towards the end of January this year (2016). I have spoken to my GP surgery who advised that unless you feel unless, it is not essential as it is valid for 12 months. WIth this in mind, would I required to get a further Flu shot prior to my interview, or am I covered until Jaunary 2017 and okay re the require vaccinations prior to the medical?

    Thanks

  9. Hi

I have my medical this week, I have all the required evidence and vaccinations but there was one part of the questionnaire which I just want o get a second opinion on.

The section which ask: Prior Country. I was last staying in the states on a tourist visa from Autumn 2011 until Summer 2012. I know this sounds like it should be simple but I don't want to get it wrong. Should I put 'US' in this section. I technically wasn't a registered resident, so was a little unsure if I should state either 'US' or 'Not applicable'.

Also, In the section which asks: Have you ever been hospitalzed? I haven't ever spent the night or been rushed to hospital etc but have suffered from Asthma issues/Minor attacks resulting from chest infection, 15 or so years ago but was only in hospital for a few hours. so do I mention this or just put no?

    I hope you can help.

    Thanks

  11. Hi

I have just completed and sent the DS-260 form and my wife and I are in the process of collating all the required relationship evidence and other supporting documents etc. I have called and booked my required Medical appointment for the end of October also.

My question is this: What happens next in relation to the interview? Do I have to wait for confirmation that everything has been received and they issue me a letter stating I can now schedule my interview, Can I just go ahead and call the US embassy in London to book an interview or do they schedule it for me?

I know this may seen obvious to some but I cannot find any definite instructions on the process after completing the DS-260.

    thanks

  12. Hi JFH

As an infant I never received the Chicken pox vaccination, though I don't think this was given in the UK event then, but I did contract chicken pox at approximately 9 years of age.

As I premature baby, the doctors advised again almost all shots when I was younger so never received the usual vaccines. The list above can be found on the consular website and can be downloaded as part of the current application process.

I have found another list from USCIS website which I believe is the most up to date and details all the required ones above plus Varicella, so think I may have to get it. Fun times but worth it!

    https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-693.pdf

I would imagine if I can present a details list of the major illnesses such as chicken pox that I suffered from as a child, this will help determine what else may or may not be required.

    Thanks

    Tom

  13. Hello people.

I am in the process of receiving the required set of vaccination that need to be completed prior to undertaken the full medical as part of the spousal IR-1 (Green Card) Visa process but had have been viewing and receiving mixed information. Is someone able to assist and clarify a few details please.

    I have so far received:

    Hepatitis A

    Hepatitis B (shot 1 of 3)

    Measles

    Mumps

    Rubella

and I will shortly get receiving:

    Hepatitis B (shot 2 of 3)

    Meningococcal

    Pneumococcal

    Influenza (once available)

However, I have been informed by my doctor, that the following vaccinations are either not available in the UK or licensed for Adults:

    Influenza type b (Hib)

    Pertussis

    Polio

    Rotavirus

    Tetanus and diphtheria Toxoid

The final vaccine on the list is Varicella (Chickenpox). The two shots required for this will need to be done privately with a 4 week gap between shot, but on the website regarding what is required (dated 2015) it currently states this is unavailable in UK.

Is someone able to confirm or help with the information above ,in case the are certain further vaccinations required that I am missing and if I do indeed still need to find somewhere to get the Varicella vaccine?

    Thank you

  14. Hello

I do hope people are able to assist. :-)

I am in the process of completing the DS-260 form and I had a question relating to the 10 year employment history.

I was registered with an employment agency and placed at one position/job until I became a permanent member of staff with that company I was placed at. Now, with regards to the start dates required, do I put the date I started via the agency and placed in said role,as one position, and then permanent role, after leaving the agency, at the same company, as another, even if it was it the same company the entire time, or would I list this just one employment position?

Also, I am unable to locate exact start dates with the agency, as I spoke to the them and they never updated their records.

I do have the exact date once I became a permanent member of staff and listed on their pay role and I do however know the month and approximate date within a 1 week period, I started via the agency. Do the dates need to be exact?

I also had a similar question in relation to the start and end dates of my education. I am unable to locate previous term dates for Secondary School/Colleges from 15-20 years ago, do these dates need to be exact or can I use an close approximate?

I do hope this question makes sense.

    Thank you
