  1. Hi again everybody.

Okay, so after I receive the NOA 2 and my case is being forwarded to NVC. When should I send my fiance all the materials from packet 1 and the new packet ( with affadavit of support etc..) ???

Will I receive a request for information from the NVC???

Lastly, according to the packet checklist here on visa journey it says to:

"Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy."

All originals??? or just a copy of the originals?

I am confused as to when and what do I send to my fiance.

    Please help!

  2. Ok guys/gals, you have all been great help!

So now that I have the NOA 2, what do I do? I know things are going to forwarded to different places, but what is my responsibility? I am preparing my I-134 form, but who do I send that too? I still have a copy of my original packet with the I129F, do I send those to my fiance?

    little help please!

    Thanks!

  3. Hi everybody,

I have a wierd question for you all.

Do you have to stay in the U.S. during the 2 year period you are married in order to adjust for permanent residency? Or do you simply have to just be married for the 2 years?

In other words, my fiance and I were planning to get married once she enters the U.S. but we want to travel the world and perhaps even stay abroad for a year or so. Will that affect her ability to apply for a green card here in the U.S.? Do we have to remain in the U.S. for 2 years as well as being married for 2 years?

  4. Hey again everybody.

You don't suppose that the USCIC made a mistake and sent out approval notices to a whole bunch of people by accident do you?

I just received my approval yesterday too and I noticed that so have allot of other people. Many have the same approval date and last updated date?

I haven't been in this forum for long and was wondering if those who have been here longer know whether or not it is normal for allot of approvals and notices to go out out in large quantities and on the same date.

  5. Sorry to vent out my frustrations but I don't understand how some people send in their applications and get a NOA2 so quickly!

I received my NOA1 on 8/16 and that's it, it hasn't been touched or anything. Then I come here and I see that there are people who get like a NOA2 a week or two after their NOA1!!! What's the deal? What am I doing wrong?

  6. On the I129f form there is a line that says that if your fiance's native alphabet is different than english, that she has to write her name and address on the line below. Well, my fiance is chinese, so she did that, but does that need to be translated and verified by a native speaker???

Also, I have some plane tickets and stuff that are in chinese but they are mostly just to prove that I was actually in China to see her, so do those need to be translated into english as well?

    Thanks.

  7. Actually let me give you the dimensions

the picture itself is 1 1/2 inch wide x 2 inch tall,

it is a front picture, but the distance between her chin and the top of her head is about 1 1/4 inch.

the distance between her eye to the bottom of the picture is also about 1 1/4 inch. So really the only thing that looks off to me is that the picture isn't 2 inches wide.

Do you think I can get away with this? It does have a white background and everything else.

  8. Hi again everybody :(

My fiance sent me a passport style photo of herself, however, I didn't realize that China (where she is) has a different passport photo requirment. So the photo she sent me is narrower than the 2 x 2 inch requirements, not to mention her facial profile is larger than the (1inch to 1 3/8inch) specification.

But, since this technically isn't for a passport, do you think that USCIS will accept the photo she sent me?

    Help!

  9. According to VJ's K1 checklist it says that for proof of citizenship using a passport

    to include

"a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years"

Is that really necessary? There are like almost 30 pages, most of which are blank, with several pages of just passport information.

Can someone clarify if I can just send in like the bio pages, and the pages actually stamped with visa arrival and deptarture date?

    Thanks!

  10. When you get them all filled out I would recommened your congressman to look over them. I went to his office yesterday and his staff was a lot of help. He just brought his whiteout in and fixed all my mistakes. He said if u make one little mistake it could set u back months. Or if you make an ity bitty mistake and get some one upset that day looking over your documents they will send them back. I don't know where u are from but here in IL we have this service free provided to us. It is great I recomended someone to double check your work before u send it off. Best wishes with starting your paper work :D .

Just a word of caution - I would be surprised if a congressman's office would help review initial forms although obviously this was the case here. Normally, congressional offices step in to assist when the petitioner is having difficulty getting answers from a service center or is out of the processing timeframe. They don't normally help people fill out paperwork. You can certainly get all the help you need here by reading the guides - I would save the congressional assistance for when you need it. And by the way, whiteout is not a very smart idea.

Thanks for all the advice everybody, so here is my next question.

Should I be sending in copies of everything in to USCIS? Including forms with signatures? Or should I just send the originals and keep copies of everything?

  11. Hello everybody,

I need some help putting together my package here.

First of all, on both the I-129F and the G-325A there is a spot that states that if your fiance's native alphabet uses other than Roman letters, write her name in the native alphabet. However, my fiance is Chinese and I don't know how to write Chinese. Is this part necessary? How would I comply with this?

Second question, I'm confused as what I am actually submitting to USCIS. Do I submit ORIGINALS of everything or Photocopies of everything to them. (except pictures ofcourse) The reason I ask is because my fiance is in China and even to get orginal signatures is a burden.

    Thanks!

Good idea! How did you find your congressman? I live In Los angeles, and trying to find any kind of help here is really difficult.

Here is another question. In Visajourney's recommended package, it says to include a letter of intent to marry. So should I have 1 letter from me AND my fiance going to the USCIS service center here in the US and another letter from me and my fiance going to the consulate in China?

If you know someone that can write in chinese, have them write your fiance's name/address using the native alphabet.

Only photo copies of documents submitted are required. If they wish to see the original they will ask for it.

Any document submitted in a foreign language must be accompanied by a translation

An original signature of your fiance is necessary on their G-325A.

Thanks Aussie! But if an original signature of my fiance is necessary on the G-325A, then don't I have to send the original G-325A form to them?

Also, what document would be in a foreign language that would be submitted? I'm really confused about that one too? Isn't it just the 2 forms, which are in english? and a letter of intent? the only thing I can see is the letter of intent if the fiance didn't write in english, but other than that, what other forms would be in a foreign language?

  13. ok I see what you say.. please don't pay attention to me.. I must have completely read the form wrong..I am now worried and will check when I go home.. I wonder why I had it translated now.. WOW .. sorry..

    That's okay :)

But if anybody knows what's up with this part I would appreciate it. My fiance speaks and write's english and I have her address (in english), I just don't have it in Chinese. I guess I can go to my friend who is fluent in Chinese and have her write it in Chinese.

  14. the address/name part with the "Non Roman characters"

I'm confused, are you referring to the I-129F form? Question 16? Did you have your fiance's address translated into english and put in question 15? Is that what you are referring to?

    Thanks! :)

Hahah no I have it typed in Chinese characters on the I-129F and an attachment to the I-129F form which shows what the chinese characters translate into english.. .. and that is notarized

You guys are scaring me though. I never realized it said that on the G-325A form .. We wrote that all in English.

Now I am really confused. If you typed it on the I-129F form, why would you have an attachment translated in english? Question 15 before it, says what is your Fiance's address, Question 16' whats the Fiance's name and address in the foreign language. Couldn't you just put the Address in english on line 15 and write the translation in chinese in 16?

And on the G325A form it doesn't ask for the address, only your fiance's name in the native language.

  15. well I went to taiwan to visit her .. so had her sign it then

Oh yeah and on the translation part.. according to USCIS they say it doesn't have to be professional anymore just someone that can speak/read/write the language and english.. I didn't take a chance though and got it professional translated.. for the translation and notarization it cost me $25 ..

I'm sorry, what translation part are you referring to?

  16. hahahh I feel you as my fiance is from Taiwan .. and yes it is required to be in the native alphabet and its unfortunate.. I had my fiance type hers in Chinese and send it to me.. I then pasted it in the form and went and got it translated.. as far as documents.. you wont get back what you send to USCIS so if you dont mind parting with the original... go ahead.. you will get mixed feedback on this.. some people say get everything notarized.. some say no..

    Thanks for your help,

What did you do to get your fiance's signature on the G-325A form?
