  1. I submitted DS-260 application online and it said that my application will not be processed until I submit civil and financial documents. I used the Document Finder feature on NVC website to determine which documents I would need (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html). When I entered the country of residence of my spouse, it took me to another page. On this page, it says " Select a visa category from the drop-down menu below to find the visa issuance fee, number of entries, and validity period for visas issued to applicants from this country*/area of authority.”

Which visa category would I select? IR-1/CR-1 is not an option.

  2. I have mixed responses to the question:

Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law? trg_bk.GIF
    Yes No

My spouse had some immunizations but do not have a record of it. Should we say Yes to this question because we will have all the vaccination requirement completed by the interview time per medical examination form that the embassy gives to my spouse? Or should we say No b/c we currently don't have any proof and then explain that we will have the vaccination requirement completed by the time of the interview.

    Thank you.

  3. I am really confused about the process from NVC onwards. I looked at posts and guides on VJ but couldn't get a clear picture of what I need to do. Can someone please explain?

    - I selected an agent

    - I submitted AOS fee and IV fee (both on the same day, one after the other because we can't pay for both the in the same transaction).

    - Status for both AOS and IV fees is PAID

    - NVC is now available to be filled online

    My questions are:

    - Does NVC ask me to attach any documents for proof or anything in the NVC application portal prior to submitting the NVC application?

    - Does NVC ask me to mail any documents to the NVC after submitting the application online? How do I know which documents to submit and when?

    - Do I need to complete a separate application for AOS? When and where does this become available?

Any guidance will be much appreciated. TY.

  4. I received 2 e-mails from NVC. One e-mail contained NVC welcome letter for myself and the other e-mailed contained NVC welcome letter for my spouse. Both letters have the same instructions. One letter is addressed to me, while the other letter is addressed to my spouse. Both letters say that we need to chose an agent.

I just want to confirm that I only have to chose an agent for one person (i.e. my spouse who is the beneficiary) since the NVC case number is the same on both letters. Is this correct?

  5. I agree with all what is said above. I would include:

    - Copy of original and translated marriage certificate

    - Copy of original and translated Nikah Nama

    - Wedding pictures of husband and wife

    - Wedding pictures with friends/attendees

    - I put my pictures on a word document and beside the pictures, I described who the attendee was. I think I also included their names.

    - Pictures of places you guys visited together - include location and date

    - Airline tickets

    - Wedding hall receipts, etc.

  6. Wife (US Citizen) is sponsoring her parents to come to the United States. Wife's income is not sufficient to sponsor them.

    Husband is co-sponsoring.

The combined income of husband and wife meets the requirement of I-864.

    Wife filed out I-864

    Husband is filling out I-864A

My question is whose name should go in Part 5: Sponsor's Promise, Statement,..., and Signature; and Part 6: Your (the Household Member's) Promise, Statement,..., and Signature?

I think that Sponsor's name would be wife's name and Your (the Household Member's) name would be the husband's name.

I just want to make sure that I got this right. I would really appreciate your feedback.

    Thank you

  8. 1) Should I box-in my name on my airline ticket?

    2) My airline ticket prints on two pages (the second page contains the fare breakdown). Do I need to include the fare breakdown page?

    3) Do I need to write my name on the top of each page that I include as a supporting document? If so, is name the only thing I need to write?

    4) I got married in my spouse's country of residence. Should I include my parents and siblings airline tickets as a supporting document of bonafide marriage?

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

  9. I tried searching on VJ but am not able to get a good sense of what the difference is between File Number (located at the top right) and Alien Registration Number (located at the bottom right) of Form G-325A.

I am a naturalized US citizen. My citizenship certificate has Alien Registration Number written on it in addition to the US Citizenship Certificate number. I assume that I should put my alien registration number at the bottom of the page where it specifically asks for Alien Registration Number.

My question is what should I put under File Number that is supposed to start with an A (located at the top right) of the G-325A form?

  10. I married my spouse in Dubai and stayed there for about 3 weeks with him and then returned to the US. What should I put in for Question 21: If filing for spouse, give last address at which you lived together and the From/To date.

Should I put the address at which we stayed together in Dubai? or should I state that we never lived together since Dubai is not my place of residence?

  11. Form I-130, Section C, Question 22: Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status.

Under this heading there are two questions.

    1) Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in:

    2) If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in:

My spouse does not live in the USA, nor have ever visited the USA. Does this question apply to me? If so, what should I write?

    Thank you
