  1. Thank you guys. Everything still feels unreal, like it´s hard to believe that this chapter is over and done with.

ingiogbecca - Seem like your interview was more like visiting an old friend. That's SWEET! Congrats!!!

I guess it kind of was since I also talked to Ronald when I got my travel visa last year

  2. I arrived at the Embassy shortly after 9.00 this morning and about an half an hour later I was called to the interview. I was interviewed by a guy called Ronald and I must say he´s a really nice guy and shortly after we started I was at ease.

He asked me about how Rebecca and I met, where and when so I told him our story to which he replied that it was always fun to hear a good story. Then he went through our evidence of a relationship. I printed out 10 pictures some of which were from my causin´s wedding party one of them was the only one he asked about.

Next thing was that he paged through emails but didn´t really read any of them then he said that pictures carried a lot of weight. Then he said I was approved and would get the Visa in a few days. Since I have a flight on Wednesday I asked him if I should delay my departure to which he replied that they would have to have a printer problem for me to do that and to call them tomorrow afternoon if I hadn´t heard from them by then.

So everything looks like I´ll be flying over Wednesday :dance::dance:

Thank you Visa Journey, there´s no doubt that this wouldn´t have gone so smoothly if it wasn´t for your help.

  3. 1. My fiancee already filled the I 134 that she printed out from the USCIS website and had it notarised. However I read on another thread that I´m not allowed to turn that one in but am supposed to have her fill out the one the embassy sent me. The form she filled out is almost identical to the one they sent me, the fields are the same, but layout is different and #11 has a missing "do" in the "That I do intend". Also the form she filled out seems to be more recent than the one they sent me, her´s being OMB No. 1615-0014; Exp. 04-30-07 and the one the embassy sent me being OMB No. 1115-0062 and not having an expiration date.

    2. This is paragraph on the checklist is confusing me "FOURTH: As soon as you have obtained all of the documents that apply in your case, carefully read the statement at the bottom of this page, sign and date it, and return the checklist to this office. after the form has been returned to this office, you will be scheduled for a visa interview at the erliest possible date. You should bring all of the above pertnent doocuments and the application froms with you to the interview".

So A. Do I have to wait to do the Medical Examination before turning in the checklist? It´s scheduled on the 15th this month which was the first i could get an appointment. The waiting time I can expect from the time I turn in the checklist until the interview is 21 days.

And B. Judging from the quoted paragraph it looks like it to me that I´m not supposed to turn in any of the forms with the checklist, what do you guys think?

  4. I went to the US three times last winter to stay with my fiancee, shortest visit was 11 days the longest was 46 days. I stated the intent of my stay each time I arrived and never had any problems. Sure got a lot of questions but they were easily answered.

  5. I should be getting packet 3 in the mail pretty soon so I´m wondering since the embassy is like a five minute drive from where I live if I would be ok to just go there and hand it to the security guys rather than mail it and have it take two or three days to get there?

Having to mail it would have been even funnier if I had been doing this last year when I lived across the road from the embassy.
