  1. Hey everyone!

Well, I had my interview in Montreal (after driving through a storm) and got my visa about a week later. My flight out is on the 25th. Woo hoo!

Just curious about the interview with the border patrol at Pearson. What can I expect? Should I have anything other than the unopened visa package and passport?

    Thanks!

    Michael.

  2. Hey everyone!

I have my interview in Montreal on the 4th, less than a week away. But I'm starting to fret over two things.

Due to the holidays and having to reschedule my first doctor's appointment because of a snowstorm, there's a possibility my medical package won't be ready in time. The doctor's office said I could tell the consulate that it's not ready and I can mail it to them. Is this true? I really don't want to reschedule my interview.

And if it is ready in time and I go to my interview how long until I get the visa? I've looked through the forum and it's confusing. Some posts say they had their interview in the morning and flew to the States in the afternoon. Yet the sticky says it can take 6 months for Montreal to courier the visa to you. Which is it? Do I get my visa as soon as the interview is done or am I back in the waiting game?

    Thanks!

  3. Hey all,

So I've made it to the point where I can set up an interview at Montreal except I'm stuck at the pay fee stage. It says there are no appointments available. Is this normal? I see on here that it does happen but the posts were from a couple years ago. Also it says to pay the fee but I don't see where I can do that? Do I have to pay the fee first and then schedule the appointment? Or will I be given an option after the appointment has been set?

    Thanks!

    Michael.

  4. Thanks everyone! I'm a bit paranoid that I'll not have one piece exactly as they require and we'll have to start all over again.

I saw somewhere that you also have to bring proof of paying the interview fee. I'm assuming that once I pay I'll be able to print out a receipt?

  5. Hey everyone,

Just got my P3 via email today. Yay! But now I'm more confused than ever so I have some questions about the checklist.

    1) It doesn't really specify what needs to be original and what can be photocopies. I'm more concerned about my fiance's stuff.

    2) I never even considered this before reading some posts here but does the birth certificate have to be the long form one, or can the card sized one be ok?

    3) I've been divorced and I have the decree but do I also have to include my marriage certificate? (Not sure where it is)

    4) Do I leave the items I don't have like military records (I wasn't in the forces) unchecked?

    5) What kinds of evidence do they need for proof of domicile?

    6) Does my fiance's letter of intent to marry need to be the original or can a scanned version be acceptable?

    Thanks! Very excited.

  6. Hey all,

Well, our journey has progressed to the point that my application has been mailed to the Montreal consulate. It's been taking forever. I called the NVC yesterday since it's been a month since we got our approval. They told me the application was sent to the consulate on November 7th. I emailed the consulate to get an idea of how long it'll take. I got an autoresponder saying it'll take 8 weeks (!) to process the application. Now I'm worried that once I get my interview date it'll be sometime in April.

Can any of my fellow Canucks give me a rough idea of the time frame for the interview? I had hoped to be in the States by Christmas but that look unlikely now.

    Thanks!

  7. Yeah, we sent a bunch of photos with links to the Facebook posts. Ah, the digital age.

Anyway, I was having issues with my credit card e-statements but got it working. Lot's of transactions in Seattle to show them. We'll be getting a call from a tier 2 representative to help us in a few days. So we'll see how it goes.

    Thanks!

  8. Hello everyone,

I've been lurking here during mine and my fiance's own visa journey. We followed the instructions posted here on how to apply for the I-129f. My fiance is the petitioner and today she received a request for more proof of meeting. We had sent in everything we could think of. I tried calling immigration but they said they can't tell us what to submit. The problem is I threw away the boarding passes when I visited twice last year. But I do have the receipt via email, would that be accepted? Since I'm Canadian my passport isn't stamped just scanned so I can't show stamps. I've been there three times in the last year.

It also mentioned a statement of meeting. My fiance did one but should I do one as well?

    Any hep would be great.

    Michael.
