  1. Hey, everyone, My Wife submitted her last form last week, and she just got an interview date! August 15th. We are pretty pumped, to say the least!

Besides the fact that the address in the email has the wrong country ( My wife was born in New Zealand, but lives and is a citizen of Australia, and the address is her address in Queensland, but the country is New Zealand, we are going to call about that), everything looks great.

A couple of questions, The only "copies" I have of my tax return and W2 from 2016 are both PDFs. If she prints these out, are those considered Originals? Also, my tax return was filed my CPA, and my copy has "Client Copy" across all pages, is that a problem?

  2. I am currently in between USCIS and NVC with my case ( case was approved last week), and I am about to move to Chicago ( from LA). My issue is, I have no idea where I am going to live yet in Chicago. My plan is to get a sublet for a month or two, so I can scope things out, and decide where we want to live.

If I get a PO box, and forward my LA mail to that, and then change my address at the NVC to that PO will there be any problems with that?

  3.

This is exactly what happened to me! I freaked out since I thought we were finally out of the black hole, but the Tier 2 Officer I talked to said they moved us back since TX was now overloaded. Our PD was 10/31/2016 and our case was sent to the NVC yesterday! Don't worry too much your approval should be any day now!

Thanks for that, so I called again today, and after getting a tier1 agent that did not want to transfer me, I finally got her to transfer me, and 3 hours later they called. The tier2 agent was probably the nastiest agent that I have talked to, but when I finally got her to take a look at the case, she came back on and told me that the status of our case was Approved!!!!

Now, I believe her, but at the same time, I want to see either the psychical paper or at least see my status online change, but I am still happy!

    PD 10/19 NEB

    Move to TX 03/10

    Move to NEB 05/04

    Approved?? 05/05

It's funny, for a while now, I have been wondering why people were so happy when the i130 was approved since it is really the half way point ( as far as I understand right now) to getting their loved one to be with them, but without a doubt, I understand now.

Here is to a speedy process for everyone who is not approved yet!

  4. I just called and talked to a tier2 person ( once I asked to talk to a tier2 person, it took about 20 seconds before they picked up, I was shocked!).

They received my case Oct 19th in Neb, and then it was transferred to Texas March 10th. The tier 2 person was very nice, but he said that they had not assigned a case officer to my case as of yet. I asked him why there were some cases that were filed after mine have been approved, if it was a FIFO system, based on my understanding that the case officer is the first thing that happens ( that a case officer would trigger the background checks and whatnot), but he explained that that was not the case and that there are background checks and whatnot that happen before an officer gets assigned. Not sure if that is true or not, but he wasn't able to tell me if the background checks were happening on my case.

I guess I will call back in a few days and see what is happening.

  5. Hey everyone, congrats to everyone that has gotten approved so far, that is super exciting!

Has anyone that was originally at Nebraska and was transferred to Texas been approved?  As I am sure all of us that are not yet approved, I am logging in every few hours to check my status, but so far no change.

I am stressing out a bit, as I just got a new job, and I am moving from LA to Chicago, and I don't have any idea where I will be living, and I afraid that they will send everything right when I leave.

  6. That would have been a good checklist to have last week! When you posted, My wife's Plane had just taken off from Brisbane! :) But this is a really good checklist for future travelers, so thank you!

We had already made sure she had most of what was on the checklist.

She sailed through customs without much issue at all. They were a bit confused why My wife and son had different last names, and My son was coming in on his US passport vs her AUS passport. But she just told them that I was here, and he has my last name. The agent asked if she had a return ticket, and she said yes, and they let her through. I am pretty happy that My wife and son as here for the next six and a half weeks.

    Thanks everyone for the help!

  7. Hey everyone, My wife is Living in the Gold coast of Australia right now, waiting for her I130/cr1 to process ( NOA1 was received Oct19th ). But she and my 7mo son are flying over this weekend for a 6-week visit. I have been reading through this thread and others, and one of the biggest thing that everyone says is that she needs to make sure she "shows intent" to go back to Australia. Two of the biggest things are rental agreements and a job, neither of which she currently has ( We sold our house in Melbourne when I left, and she moved to live with her sister, to keep costs down, and she is on maternity leave).

Since those two biggies are not really available ( she might be able to get a very rudimentary rental agreement from her sister), what other things will help show intent?

I am hoping she will be fine, but I just want to make sure she has as much proof as possible so that they let her in ( especially since she will be with a very cranky 7mo).

  8. Hey everyone! Thought I would join in as well!

My Wife and I were Married in Melbourne Australia in June, and we sent the cr1/i130 in early October. Our recieved date is October 19th. We are currently in the black hole that is the Nebraska service center. The dates started going backwards a few days ago on this page ( I know that is not an offical site, and it is based on crowdsourced data, but still!! ).

7 days after we were married, She gave birth to our son. Then in Dec, I had to move back to the states for work, so I am really frustrated with the fact that I am missing big milestones in his life.

My wife and son are going to try to come for a visit in a month or so, hopefully they won't have a hard time with the tourist visa.

Anyway, I am glad we are not the only ones, and I wish us all luck!
