  1. You son completed CRBA which granted him U.S. citizenship, and that is why the need to complete the Recognition process to establish his Philippine citizenship (again).

Whether completing the Recognition process or pay the ECC fee is your decision. If you have the time I would suggest the Recognition process and getting the Philippine passport ... it will be appreciated in later years.

I have friends that had the same situation , they did not apply for the recognition. They apply for phil passport and fly out without any problems.

  2. Hello vj members! I am here again and needing help.. I am a filipina and my son is 2 years and 4months usc.. We filed for crba last year december and got his Us passport february of this year.. I understand that my son is naturally born here so he has the right to obtain a phil passport as well to exempt him on paying the expensive exit permit (ecc).. but when i went to bi to confirm this matter they told me that i need to do the recognition process so he can apply for a phil passport.. Now i am lost.. What route should we take?? ... Why in the world does he needs a recognition of being a filipino , it is so obvious that he was born here when, he has a Nso/psa record. Visa processing is already a stressful road so i hope leaving the country will be more easier !

  3. Hello , i am a filipina and my son was born here.. We applied for crba 2015 and got his passport february of 2016. Now we got our visa and planning to migrate soon .. I went to Bi to ask about the emigration clearance certificate so he can exit the country.. and what got me surprise was is the fee i was told that i need to pay 13k or more for him staying here, he is only 2 years old . Now i am planning to get him a phil passport , is it okay to do it? so i wont need to pay the ecc fee that cost way more than getting a phil passport..

Thanks in advance , any ideas will be highly appreciated!

  4. I got my visa on hand today , track the visa using the barcode on the appointment letter. I used passport number and case number and its invalid so i used the barcode and it shows the status "in transit" i. Good luck! im sure hers is on the way too!

  5. Did you apply for dual citizenship for her?The reason i asked is because getting the phil passport will exempt her from the ecc req, but if u did not apply for the recognition of being a filipino and get caught having 2 passport without the acknowledgment u might face consequences of doing it and might hold the flight. well this is just some info the immigration of phil told me . i am getting ecc for my 2 years old son and did not consider getting him phil passport.

  6. Hello vj members!

Does anyone have any idea about getting the ecc for a kid( 2 years old ) and like how much will be the cost.

We obtained his citizenship thru crba and got his passport february of this year .. I am wondering how much we will be paying at the immigration for him to obtained the ecc when we fly out?

    any ideas?

  7. First and foremost i would like to thank you all for creating a wonderful website like visa journey! I am so happy to be a part of this forum! you'all helped everyone in every single way. and it is a big help to me!

I had my interview today and i am fully equipped of supporting documents that was listed on the check list but nothing was asked only the civil documents like divorce decree, birth certificate , cenomar and nbi clearance was asked. Pre screening was fast probably 2 minutes, the filipino officer asked me 3 things ,

    1. How did i meet my fiance

    2. What is his birthday

    3. How many kids do i have?

and after answering it briefly i was told to proceed to finger scanning and next is to proceed to window 62-68 for the final interview( but another lady was there assisting line so once again i was told to seat down and wait for my turn and yeah maybe after an hour chitchating with my seatmates about our stories its my turn!

    Final Interview

The officer was so nice and soft spoken, hes jokingly telling my son( 7 years old ) that he ain't old enough to do the finger scanning thing coz my son is watching me doing it and i think he notice it.. so my final interview was fast he then asked me some questions

    1. How did i meet my fiance

    2. How old is my Usc son

    3. What are the dates of my fiance vacation for year 2013.

so i answer immediately and after 5 seconds.. he was back with his smile and told me he wont keep me long because maybe my 2 years old son is waiting hungry outside lol so he pop up the word " your papers are complete and we are done here , wait for you visa for 5-10 days - thank you and have a nice day!

So yay! no more ldr soon!

Congratulations to all those members who passed the interview as well!!

    God bless us always!

and and and of course thanks to greenbaum and all the members who helped me during my anxious day! you guys are the best!

  8. Hello everyone! Again a little bit confused with forms , I know when we submit our case at the USCIS we used the Form i-34 for the affidavit of support, now what makes me confused it there is another form for affidavit of support which is the form i-864 . Which one should i bring for my interview? and does the form needs to be notarized as well? by the way we are doing k1-k2 visa.

Any opinions will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  9. Just wanna clarify this thing. the aka thingy for the nbi clearance is only required for those people who are using alias with their documents right?? Reason i asked is because i have read some topic stating nbi clearances should have an AKA.
