Biometrics appointment notice came in the mail today.
the "notice date" is 7/3/2007, biometrics date is 7/28/2007
the appointment's set for a saturday afternoon.
I didn't know that government offices were open on weekends.

I have finally receievd my NOA!!! :energetic: What a relief... ufffff.... I have been waiting for it since June 18! However, it's only NOA for I-485 and my package also included the application for EAD. Hopefully, my second NOA will be here soon. Now I have another question to you, guys: I wanted to check my case status online but when I entered my receipt number it was not valid. Could you tell me how soon I can start checking my case online?

a bit delayed in my update, but for those who live in california and are going thru/will go thru this...
after the wedding (well, on May 7) we sent our signed marriage license to the recorder/county clerk, requesting certified copies.
our certified copy of our marriage certificate was post-marked May 29, and arrived via USPS on May 31.

just don't sign anything.
no paperwork, no witnesses signing, no governmental record.
we also wanted to marry in mexico before she left her family for some unknown period of US Gov't AP/GC processing time.
but I wanted her here with me in the states, where I live and work, as soon as possible.
at the time, the K-1 was the fastest route (and, after talking to quite a few of the guys waiting for their wives outside of the consulate in Ciudad Juarez, a much easier/faster process to get her to the US than the K-3).
but if you go K-1, be true. those guys and gals that interview/approve/forward you to the next group, who interview/approve/forward you to the next group, are pretty suspicious folks. if you're going to, forgive me, "LIE" about your marriage, you're going to have to tell that lie a hundred times over...
for us, it wasn't worth it.
she received her fiancée visa 4 months from our initial filing.
we got married in the US.
we'll marry in mexico on our first wedding anniversary, with all her family.. and our son.

if you like a thin, crisp crust that doesn't fill you up on one slice before you can enjoy a deliciously-simmered, perfectly-seasoned tomato sauce that's topped by succulently hand-made mozzarella melted to bubbly-goodness (perhaps topped with artisan-quality sausage and shaved jalapeño or just imported pepperoni), then- believe it or not, the BEST PIZZA i've had in at least 20 YEARS is from a shop near Fundadores and Aguas Calientes (in a strip mall, behind the Pemex-AM/PM) called "Cafe d'sole" in Tijuana.

for those who married in California, how long after the marriage did it take the Registrar/County Clerk to send your certified copies of your marriage certificate?
oh, while I've got you here (and this one is not California-specific), how close to the expiration of your spouse's K-1 Visa did you send your AOS paperwork to the USCIS?

Write the Control Number...no worries
no no no no no....it specifically asks for the A#. It is the numbers in RED on your I-94 and on your VISA.
actually, there are THREE different numbers we're talking about here, and from what I've found by searching around the site it's like this:
1) A#: it's listed above their number on your NOA 2, also on the back of their I-94 if they received an EAD at the POE
2) I-94#: it's the hard-printed number on the TOP LEFT CORNER of the I-94 "form" (card) that was stapled to their passport at the POE
3) Nonimmigrant Visa Number: it's the RED number printed down and on the LOWER RIGHT of the VISA affixed to their passport

my personal check cashed on 10/12/06
yet, still haven't received NOA1...
looking at y'alls timelines, the average is about 2 weeks from initial submission to NOA1.
been over a month now, and still nothing...
1) if there's a problem with my application, how long will they wait to send it back to me to make corrections?
2) am i just being paranoid?
any comments welcomed. thanks.
Do you have access to the image of your cashed check? If you do look on the back for your case number. It will be WACxxxxxxxxx. Then go to the website and get yourself set up because that is all the NOA1 does for you. Then you can watch for all the infamous "touches"......

seems like an awful long time, compared to the others here... at least we've gotten this far relatively quickly.
