  1. I was wondering if someone can clarify something for me. I checked the status of my case and this is what I got:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On January 31, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Does this mean I will be getting my greencard? Don't I have to have an interview for AOS? Am I able to work before I get the greencard?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

  2. Hey all!

I received my notice of action for my EAD and AOS. I have an account with USCIS online to check the status of my case. The Service Center that I'm dealing with is Missouri. I didn't even know they had one. To check the processing times on the website, the only options are California, Nebraska, Vermont and Texas. I now live in Florida and thought it would be with Texas since that's where my fiance applied for the I-129 petition. Can anyone give me some info?

    Thanks!

  3. Hi!

This is my situation. Currently I am in my home country waiting for my visa interview date. I called the US Embassy in MOntreal this week to check the status of my case. The operator told me that I was on a waiting list for Sept/Oct. Since that is at least another month or so, my fiance has arranged for me to fly to the USA and then I would go to my visa interview from there. I have not yet received my packet 4 with the interview date. This will be arriving at my parent's address. My question is : Do you need ID when the package is mailed? I know that sometimes when you receive documents from the government, an ID is usually required. If this is the case, then I would have to stay in order to get my package, other wise my Mother would mail the package to me in the USA.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion!

  4. Hi everyone!

I have a question regarding AP. How long does it take to get it? What if you need to go back to your home country immediately, like for an emergency (example: death of a parent)? Does the AP expire? Can it only be used once?

Please forgive me for all the questions, but I would appreciate any responses.

    Thanks!

  5. Hello!

Right now I'm waiting for package #4 which apparently has the interview letter. I called the US Embassy in Montreal to check the status of my case. The operator told me that I'm on a waiting list for the end of August/beginning of September. I'm just wondering when will I get my letter. Is there a way to check on the embassy website?

    Thanks

  6. Hi!

Does anyone know what Packet 4 contains? Is it just a letter that tells you when the interview is or are there more forms to fill out?

    Thanks

  7. Hi all!

I'm new to this site. Right now I'm in the process of waiting for my interview date which will take place sometime in Sept/Oct.

Once I receive my visa and enter the USA, I will ask the border officials to stamp my I-94 for work authorization. The question I have is how long am I eligible to work in the USA? I've read somewhere that it's only good as the same time the visa expires which is only 90 days. Is this correct? And if I don't get the work authorization stamped at customs, what do I do in order to work as soon as possible when I enter the US?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Hi. Yes, the temporary work permit you may get at the airport is only valid for 90 days. To see what to do if you don't get one, please check the guides: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3ead

    Thanks a bunch! B)
