  1. My fiance lives in Egypt and is currently serving his 1 year of military time (finishes in June 2017) and I wanted to know the quickest way to be together....should we apply for a k1 visa to get him here and marry or should I travel to egypt again, marry him and bring him back with me on a k3 visa? Can I file a k3 for him in Eygpt and travel back to America with him?

  2. So, I went to the USCIS website to print out the PDF form of the K1 Visa Application....and as I started filling it out, I noticed that the top right hand corner of the first page shows "Expiration Date: June 30th 2016"

I want to make sure this will be ok as I got the form right off their website. I am trying to do the whole process without a lawyer to save some money and I just want to make sure this will not affect our application.

I have attached the PDF form right off their website so you can see what I'm talking about on the top right of the first page.

    Thanks!

  3. Hello!

I asked a question about my Egyptian fiance completing his military time before the K1 Visa paperwork gets to him in Egypt....now I have another question....

He has studied and filled out paperwork to be a judge in Egypt. Supposedly, this is a pretty high position there, and he is doing all this while I am getting ready to start the fiance paperwork. Will this cause problems with the screening process? I ask because he had to pay money to file the paperwork for the position as a judge. He says he is doing this so his family will not be upset with him leaving Egypt to come here after all his hard work and studies, and to me, it would raise a red flag to the process......because, why would he bother to file that paperwork and apply to be a judge if he is filing a K1 fiance visa? Thanks in advance!

  4. Hello!

My fiance is a 25 year old Egyptian male serving his military time. He will complete his service in June of 2017.

We want to be together as soon as possible and are confused on weather or not we can start the visa paperwork WHILE he is serving his time? The reason we are confused is because part of the paperwork requires a sign-off from the Egyptian military that he completed his service....but he is still serving right now? We just want to get the ball rolling with the paperwork to eliminate as much of the wait time as possible!

He was told by another soldier that he could not start the paperwork till he completes his service, but that would mean we wont be together for at least another 2 years :(

We just want to know if we can start the paperwork now, and if so...which would be quickest for our situation? Fiance or Spouse Visa?

    Thank you!
