  1. @ducatiguys: It was smooth and easy. Once you're inside the embassy, you can immediately proceed to any window at Windows 1,2,3 for checking and submission of documents and initial interview. Then you'll be given a queue number. You go in and wait till your applicant number is called.

The consul was kind. He only asked a few questions and then that's it. About three minutes time with him. :)

Tip: Make sure you eat your breakfast before going. You'll thank me afterwards.

Anyhow, God bless once again. Keep praying for it and that God's will be done. The other applicants told me I was just "chill chill" probably they meant relaxed and I told them I keep praying night and day and they said they do too.

It was fun sitting there with other applicants--made me feel like I belong to a special family that only those who are going through this visa process can understand. Everybody encouraged and cheered one another. Wonderful experience! To God be the glory!

  2. Hello Bensh! Glad you're not sore anymore.

Noom lives in Pattaya. He mailed the Packet 3 from Pattaya at about 11:30 AM on Tuesday, 23 AUG. According to the EMS site, Packet 3 was successfully delivered this afternoon, 24 AUG. So maybe he will receive Packet 4 email on Thursday or Friday.

What documents did you have to present at the hospital for the medical exam?

Thank you...and best of luck to you and all of us!

    Hi!

I only had to bring my original passport, 4 passport size photos (based on US standards), patient number, and intended address in the USA.

Right when you receive the Packet 4 email, just go ahead and schedule your medical interview. You can do it even the next day. Not a lot of waiting time--only an hour to wait for the blood test and chest x-ray. The meeting with the panel physician was also brief--less than five minutes. :-)

I went to Bumrungrad and the entire staff over there was very helpful. They all speak English. :)

Got your Packet 4 email yet? I sure hope so. Take care and God bless!

Pattaya, I see. Pretty close to BKK.

  4. The Packet 4 email will only come after the review of Packet 3 Documents. They'll update ceac tracker soon too once it's done.

David, does Noom live in Bangkok? I forgot. It would be faster if mailed from here. Check the EMS tracker on the Thai post website and see if it was received. I mailed mine Aug 17 after 4pm through a postal service at a department store then it was received Aug 19. Got my interview date on Aug 23 (being the next business day after receipt of Packet 3).

I'm no longer sore, thanks. But I'm getting a doc translated and working on the evidence of relationship to complete Packet 4.

    God bless all of us!

  5. Bensh, have you received your interview date already?

Oh yes, it will be next week. Please keep us in your prayers. Right after receiving your packet 3 documents. They'll review it and then inform you the next business day. That's what happened with us. Things really move faster now. No time to waste. Check the website for Packet 4 and its requirements.

  6. Just an update from us:

-Had my medical exam today and I am sore with three shots (MMR, vacirella, and tdap). It was quite a day at Bumrungrad but everybody was very kind and helpful. Words of Advice: If you have vaccine records, please do bring them. If not, you'll have to whatever the panel physician thinks you need based on your blood test and chest x-ray. Bring extra cash as well. I had to pay 7,560.00 today. :-( Yup!

God bless everyone! We are almost there. Let's keep submitting this journey to God who knows the best for us. Keeping you in my prayers.

  7. Packet 3 mailed today (23 AUG) to Embassy in Bangkok!

    ~David & Noom

That's great! Wait for a day and a half for them to receive your packet. You should be able to track your package through the tracking number they provided. The embassy replies really fast right after receiving and receiving your files. God bless!

We have not received packet 3 either but my lawyer said he submits packet 3 already. Still no interview date for us

He went and submitted by himself or sent through post? Don't wait for Packet 3. Just send your documents based on the info provided online.

  8. It is so obvious that you Bensh and you ducatiguysd and I are on the exact same schedule! So let's keep each other updated every step of the way. I'm not sure if Noom received his Packet 3 on Friday, but he will mail his Packet 3 on Monday or Tuesday. I'll be curious to see how long it takes to get the interview email. When I look at other recent timelines, it appears to be about 10 days after the Embassy receives Packet 3. So we'll see!

    This is so exciting :)

    ~David & Noom

I know, right? Very exciting indeed! I will let you know when I get my interview email. They have received my package on Friday. I sent through EMS. Two days to send. :-)

No update on my end. I see the file was touched on the 17th but still says ready

Yup, same here. So, not sending Packet 3 Docs?

  9. I believe the way it works is like this: we respond to Packet 3 and the CO reviews what we submit. Then the Embassy sends an email regarding Packet 4, which includes the interview date and time. Several people on VJ have recommended to me that we don't have to wait to receive Packet 3 from the Embassy before we send in our documents. We can apparently do that at any point we are ready. Some people have said they never received Packet 3 (due to Post Office).

This is correct! This is also how I understand the K1 Visa processing here in Thailand.

Sent your Packet 3 documents yet?

    Just an update:

I received my Packet 3 today. Yay! How about the rest of you guys? God bless and Happy Weekend! We are almost there. Let's just keep our faith and trust in God knowing that He will continue to lead and carry us through. God bless!

  10. Ok, P4 is what you bring with you to the interview right? So anything they already have you will not need to bring with you... I think. Also if you send copies of something they wanted originals of in P3 you can bring them with to the interview.

That's right! I went through Packet 4 again online and read again each word carefully to make sure that I understand everything. It mentioned something there to see Packet 3 for details of the documents asked.

Anyone received an interview date yet or still says ready?

Nope, not yet. I am not sure if they have received my Packet 3 documents yet. According to the Embassy, they will only schedule my interview after the consular section has finished reviewing my Packet 3 documents. Will keep praying here for this process. How about you? Any updates?

  11. You submit copies only of documents in P3

    I am afraid not.

They asked us to submit a few photocopied ones and a lot of original ones. I will have to review the Packet 4 and see what it says.

just a quick update from me....the embassy emailed me overnight to say that Packet 3 was sent via post to Noom at his home address on 16-AUG. So things are starting to happen!

    ~David and Noom

    That's great!

I went on ahead and mailed my Packet 3 Documents. My fiance advised me to do and I agreed with him. :-) I just hope and pray that I didn't miss anything. :-) God be with my package.

  12. No i havent. We are going to bring documents to the interview as advised by my lawyer. I am just waiting for the interview date so that we can schedule the medical.

Anyone know how long it takes for the consulate to issue an interview date after the case is in ready status?

What I know is that, the Embassy will only schedule the interview if they have already reviewed Packet 3. If you don't submit the documents then they will not schedule your interview date. Tsk.Tsk.Tsk.

  13. Thank you so much for this. I will be contacting my lawyer today to verify this response you received. I really appreciate it

Yesterday, I emailed the embassy if I can send the Packet 3 and they replied with a "YES."

But what I wonder now about is, if we send these documents for Packet 3, then how do we send the same documents for Packet 4? They have about the same list of items needed to be submitted.

  14. Hi Everyone,

Just found this Thai specific thread. See signature i am in the same situation as the rest of you. I'll post an update when she receives packet 3.

Welcome to Thailand thread! :-) God bless!

I am confused. My lawyer in thailand said packet 3 doesnt matter and since the ceac case status shows ready we just wait for them to assign an interview date. I am looking on ceac and it clearly states an interview date will be provided by the embassy in thailand without the need to provide any further documentation.

Other reports on here are saying paperwork needs to be filled out and submitted for an interview date?

Hi! I am so sorry again regarding the confusion. Guess what I found out today? The Embassy said we can submit the Packet 3 Documents if we're ready but then they reminded that missing documents will cause delay in the visa process. I am just taking my time here and making sure that I have everything ready. Have you sent your documents yet?

Oh okay. I am sorry for the confusion. I have been reading and rereading stuff regarding this K1 visa process here in Thailand it specifically says that the Embassy will contact the applicant regarding the Packet 3 and 4 and the interview date.

    Here's a link to their site: https://th.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiance-k-1-visas/

May you find this link helpful. I believe that the Packet 3 is on the way. God bless!

  16. Thank you. I think you will get a status change soon. I have a feeling.

Can we schedule interview already or do we need to receive packet 3 first?

Hi! Yes, praise the Lord! I went all gaga last night wondering what happened to our case but it's here too! I feel bad for embarrassing God. :-(

    Anyway, yes, it's here!

The embassy schedules the interview once they have processed the papers that we have sent them. They send us the Packet 3, we send them back the papers required, they process it, then they schedule the interview for us.

Isn't the next step sending in P3, then they inform you of interview schedule?

    That's right!

Thank you...and I will keep you updated. I'm sure yours will come soon. Good luck!!

    That's great news! Congratulations...

    Yes, thanks a lot!

Ours is also here now! God bless to all of us! Waiting for Packet 3 here now.

  17. Yes that is correct. The directions on the BKK Embassy website and the GLOBAL SUPPORT STRATEGY (GSS) REGISTRATION: are very clear on this point. K1 visa applicants receive their interview appointment from the Embassy with Packet 4.

Yes, we have to wait for the Packet 3 then the Packet 4. But I heard that they do email both the applicant and the petitioner of the appointment date. Packet 3 is more of a must-have than the Packet 4.
