Oct 1 we got an email saying that administrative processing had concluded and my fiance should send his passport with updated medical and police certificate. He did and he still has not received anything back. The website still says administrative processing and when I email the embassy asking about it, they write back saying that the file is with the officer for review and they will process the case to conclusion when they're done.

How long does this take? I was under the impression that once they asked for the passport, it was only a matter of a few days. It appears that isn't the case with us.

My fiancé received an email the other day that said the administrative processing was finished and to send the passport for visa processing.

Back in April, after his interview, he was verbally told by the consulate that he was accepted and to send the passport.

Knowing this, is the email we got legit or are they messing with us again because the website hasn't changed at all?

Has anyone else experienced a "false email acceptance" or situation like this?

My fiance has requested to have his passport returned to him for travel 3 times now and he doesn't even get a response. Are they all so slow at processing or just the one in Egypt?

Hi all! My fiance's interview was March 8, 2016. On April 12, he was called and verbally told by the CO that he was accepted and to send his passport. The CEAC status was changed to mandatory administrative processing on April 21st and they've had his passport since with no updates at all. Is this normal for Egypt? Can anyone provide hope that we will get an answer soon? We're starting to think they've forgotten about us. :'(
