  1. I don't even have an interview scheduled yet :( I just have no idea how and when to submit a new i-693. There seems to be no official instruction on that...

I think it would be better for you to have de new medical exam done once you get your interview, then just submit them directly to the officer at the interview. That is what I'm doing. My lawyer advised me to not submit my medical exam along with my AOS packet because since Houston takes forever, it would be expired by the time I got an interview and I would have to take them again. Recently I received a letter from immigration telling me that since I did not submit my medical along with the AOS packet I can bring them to the interview.

  2. Still waiting for my cases numbers to work online. Anyone?

Mine still do not work. However, I think my case is processing normally this week I received a letter from them about my medical exam. I did not include it in the packet because my lawyer told me that since Houston's field office takes almost a year to process, It was likely that I would have to do my medicals twice, and that I could just bring them to the interview without a problem to avoid paying twice. The letter I got from them states exactly that. I can bring them to the interview.

So to get back to you..lol I don't think there is a problem with the case numbers not working on their website. Your case seems to be progressing normally because even without the case numbers working you received your bio letter and were able to do it without a problem.

  3. Your processing timeline will be based on local office processing time of I485. Having a prior approved I130 does not speed it up.

I'm going to check my mail later to see if I got NOA.

    Did you get text/email NoA?

Thank you for your timely response! I guess I'll just have to be patient. I didn't sign up for the text/email service, so I didn't get them. I'm planning to do it once my receipt numbers start working, because as of now, when I enter them, it's giving me an error message. Go check your mail box you probably got the paper NOAs too :)

  4. Yay! I just got my paper NOA1s :dancing: I have a question. My husband had filed an I-130 for me back in 2008 and it was approved. We used this I-130 to apply for the AOS now, and my I-485 NOA says that my priority date is March 30, 2008. Does this mean, that my AOS will be processed faster, or does the fact that the I-130 was filed back then does not impact the processing time?

  5. The US Supreme Cout did not extend DACA and DAPA. A 4-4 divided Cout resulted in leaving a lower court's ruling that DACA and DAPA were unconstitutional. That's why USICS has stop accepting new DAPA applicants. USCIS is still accepting DACA applicant. That's why the Obama Administration is asking for a rehearing when the US Supreme Court will have 9 justices.

I did not mean that the Supreme Court extended DACA. What I meant by my post was they voted on the "extended version of DACA and DAPA" The original DACA relief was never voted on. Therefore, it is still in effect. I apologize for not making myself clear and for creating confusion.

  6. Where i can find DACA?

unfortunately, i came without inspection thinking i will go back maybe 2 years. I dont plan to meet my wife.

My wife and kids will have really hard time if im not in us because i pay everything. My wife works only part time. I still need to go back to mexico? I dont want a ban. I need stay with my family but moving my family to mexico is not possible. I dont have nothing over there.

How old were you when you first came? How old are you now? Maybe you still qualify for DACA. What the Supreme court voted on was Extended DACA and DAPA.

You can find more information about DACA here.

  7. I was wondering about something. To be considered a resident of the state, do you need the green card or just need the proof that you have lived here for a certain amount of time(a year for Texas)? It's for studying purpose(university fees).

And yes, the "combo card" EAD/AP lets you travel the same way, you will already have an official USCIS document with your name on it.

Go here and read the Residency rules http://www.collegeforalltexans.com/index.cfm?objectid=6D1466D9-AEA5-DE00-C12F3F75E7367718 There are several ways in which you can establish Texas Residency for school purposes and maybe some of them apply to your particular situation. It doesn't necessarily have to be the actual GC.

I have previously traveled with AP and, for me, it was traumatic (When I returned, the first IO told me my AP wasn't good anymore. I almost died right then and there, and then I was sent to secondary without my husband for close to an hour. That was the longest hour of my life!). I'm not willing to do it again and thus, I will only travel once I have my GC in hand.

  8. Yes, you will. We also had a lawyer file for us.

In fact, you can create a USCIS account now and then later add the receipt numbers that will be listed in your NOA's. And even though you'll have the numbers, they will most likely not work right away, but as the officers process your forms and update their status, the numbers will start to work. That means that initially, you'll just have to keep checking the numbers like every other day until they start working, and then you'll be able to turn the text and email alerts on.

    Good luck!

Thank you for the information. I will go and set up my account, and I'll be watching my mail man for those paper NOA's lol

  9. Hi,

Another Houstonian with almost identical timeline here. Best of luck!

Hi! I know. Our timelines are almost identical. Maybe we will have our interviews on the same day, and right now it looks like the Houston office is taking about 1 year to complete an AOS case. I saw in another forum that people that filed at the beginning of August of last year just had their interview yesterday. My lawyer said its because they're flooded with Naturalization applications. I believe that it's because people want to vote come November, and once that happens, I hope that there are less N-400's and the Houston office will start to move faster. Well, one can hope that they do. 1 year seems like an awful lot!

Best of luck to you too :)

  10. Hello everyone! Another July AOS filer here :D my lawyer sent my AOS packet (I-485, I-765, and I-131) on July 19, and it was received at the Chicago Lockbox on July 20th. My check was cashed on July 27, and I haven't received my NOA's. One quick question. Since my AOS was filled out by my attorney, I didn't fill out the form to get emails and texts about my case. Do you all think that I'll be able to sign up for text and email notifications when I receive my paper NOA's

Good luck to all. I hope this is a speedy and satisfactory process for all of us!
