My girlfriend and I are planning to get married in Canada, she is a US citizen and I'm Irish.she lives in the USA, I live in Ireland and we don't plan on moving to either country together (yet).
Question being, she gets grants and stuff for college that she will lose should she declare she is married...if we got married in Canada does she have to declare it to the US government on tax returns etc.
Our thoughts were, if needed we could marry again in the US when I move to the USA / She moved to Ireland/ when she finishes her Masters.

Hey there.
Any advice would be really appreciated!
