  1. I've got my SSN soon after arrival. 31st of Oct - applied, 6th of November - received. Marriage gonna be in December. It's much easier to change it later, than wait for EAD after AOS and aplly for the 1st time. Good luck to all!

Yeah, and it says not allowed to work without authorization of DHS.

    Mari

  2. Don't worry, Cesar, if she won't get this package at all. I know a lot of girls passing the interview never getting this package. She's gonna be at the list of the officer at the door of the Embassy. As for police record, you'd better GO ANYWAY to pass her interview and if it'll be the only thing missing, they will interview her and give her visa as soon as she'll send them police record. (you SHOULD do it a long time ago actually, besides if she'd pay for it a lil bit more, it would be done within a week!do it!) And good luck you both!

John, you got EXACTLY the same reply from DOS as my baby got whe he called them recently. Together with soooooooo nice advice to chack embassy site with schedule of interviews!

They just confirmed that NVC sent it on 25th of auagust! It's almost a month and nothing! Arghhh! :(

  3. Thank you all guys and girls for support! We'll hang on, sure, but it's really so upsetting us. Its already 2 weeks after sending from NVC and no information at the embassy. As for their site with schedule for interview, they renew it not so often, so the only way to know it asap is e-mailing them or calling to DOS. Thanks for good advice! Good luck to all!

  4. John and Anna, does it mean NVC never told you anything positive by the phone? And Embassy didn't tell your date of interview in almost a month after leaving NVC? Please clarify this matter. We're still waiting to know our date too after 4 months of stucking in CSC! THANKS!

  5. Hi Pursuade! It was very interesting to read all opinions and advise here. If you still read this theme you'll probably see what I'd like to say.

Take anything what have been said here as true or suitable for you but have your own head on your shoulders: trust or test, love or make friends... whatever you chose, trust to your intuition. No need to TEST someone tough if you have a chance to know her normally. And if you want to minimize your risk of finding hunters, follow advice of your russian friends who has nice friends among girls there in Russia, instead of surfing marriage web-sites(noone will give you any garantees there's no cheaters among registered users), AND THEN WHEN YOU'LL HAVE SOMEONE don't mention your INCOME if she doesn't ask, discuss more details about future life and family issues, kids, whatever you dream of... and you'll see the difference. And look through her questions... she has to have a lot about you and what you like, and who you are! And pay attention on some of (!) Slim's advice, especially about living in Russia. And leave your eyes open and mind clear! It's just great you didn't give up and don't hate the whole world of girls. Just remember problems with your ex and try to discuss ANY point which you can be surprised later... including paying bills. Cause sometimes it's normal for russian men and families when russian men pay ALL. Try to know more about her family and wy of her life and points of view on anything you can think of.

    And Good luck!

Just IMHO of one russian girl, being in love.

  6. ANYBODY RECIEVED ANY INTERVIEW DATES FOR MOSCOW LATELY?

ALSO MY SIBERIAN FIANCEE (L) HAS YET TO GET HER SHOTS SINCE SHE WAS DIAGNOSED "ALLERGIC" TO THEM....WILL THIS HURT OUR CHANCE FOR THE VISA?

THIS VISAJOURNEY SITE IS AWESOME...BEEN READING IT FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW.

K1 visa doen't have strict requirements for shots. She'll need them later AFTER MARRIAGE FOR AOS. But she has to take a waiver from her physician (signed and stamped), translate it into English and then go to INS med docs with it to get appropriate waiver there not getting shots.

As for number of service center together with MOS in shedule it's over there in your NOAs. (WAC, LIN and so on)

  7. Irina has an adult son who would have to file "DS-157", whatever that is. He's a construction worker and doesn't own any property, but he's honest as the day is long, and I would sign whatever I needed to if he could get a Tourist Visa to come over here for a couple of months during his 'slow' season. I told Irina "nothing doing", however, because I thought he would probably be turned down in Moscow, and I was afraid that a refusal might impact Irina's hope of someday sponsoring him as a permanent immigrant.

Look, I don't wanna freighten you or discourage but it's so weak chance for him to get it. Unless he'll show anything upgoing and tying him to Russia: any courses, repair contract of any apartment, letters from work confirming he's still working, your letter approving he won't stay there and will come back... a lot of things... think it all up! To prove any SAID word by documents! Good luck anyway!

And one more thing: to get visa for parents (or one of them), for sister/brother, anyone not so close relative is MUCH easier that to grown-up kids. Just experiece of other refusals. Cause the first MAIN question in application form for B2 visa is: Do you have any relatives in USA? Name them... Here you go!

I wish you to get prepaired and be able to see him soon anyway! GOOD LUCK! :star:

  8. No, nothing. We sent a letter again at CSC on 25th of July to be sure they sent it to NVC or not and then were going to apply to congress people, but actually yesterday they replied! So long time to reply (5 days!) cause usually it took just 24 hours for them to reply! Imagine? So that means they WERE REALLY LOOKING FOR IT! (может быть и нет?)

File has been requested and will be forwarded to NVC. Please allow 30 days for this action to occur.

    Thanks,

HAS BEEN REQUESTED!!! Like someone from even english speaking persons here at the fiorum once said: Are they speaking english, huh? It's not my native language but I know english not bad... I hope it means GOOD??? I don't know what to think? Requested WHERE? At CSC or NVC?

CAO - Customer Authorization Officer or what?

  9. [MaClaud: I never heard of waiting 4 months after NOA2 to start bothering USCIS. I know our lawyer did wait 30 days to put a written inquiry, though. We contacted the congressman in mid May (that is 2 months after NOA2) personally. Although after that my husband had to constantly keep reminding them about our case. He would call, leave messages, walk-in almost every other day. Finally, the case was sent to NVC on June 14, 06. We also contacted a Sentor in D.C and got them to send a letter on May 15th.

I think you it won't hurt to contact the congressperson/ senator's office a little earlier, cause they will take their time to reply and take any actions on your case.

    Hope, this helps.

    Wish you all the best,

    Jlay (F)

Ohhh, Jlay! Thanks a lot!:star: You just make us come back to life! Thank you so much for your help and advice! We'll apply to both congresspeople and senator of TX to make them move their asses in CSC, cause it's already out of any limits of patience and all... Have good luck and soon interview date at AlmaATA. Udachi tebe! (F)

    Best regards,

    Mari

  10. After the congressman's office put an inquiry, we found out that our case had never left the building

They finally sent it out (the process took 5 weeks) and it successfully reached the NVC. Everything was going ok, up untill NVC sent it to the wrong embassy :( . It's been 3 weeks now since the case was forwarded to the right embassy and hasn't been recieved yet...

i agree with MaClaude and urge you to contact your congressperson or senator asap. That is the only way to get a reliable information (Did you know that when a congressperson calls the USCIS, they have to physically go and look for the case?).

Anyway, I wish everybody good luck and patience. (F)

Jlay, could you please tell us WHEN did you satrt bothering congress people? Cause we wait knowing they don't do anything till 4 months after NOA2. I see your dates are less, please advice? And did you send them fax message? Thank for your help and have good luck as well!

  11. Jedi, CONGRATULATIONS to our co-captain!!! Wow, at last! They are really won't bite Turtles-Ninjas! LOL

Pipe all hands on the deck! LEt's debark all at NVC port! :)

Martindart, why didn't you apply for another visa waiting so long? so patient? it's awesome... video of speaking Vietnamese? jesus, they are go insane? never heard anything like that...

Skybri, Kofuku really gave you the Brilliant advice! I THINK YOU'D FOLLOW IT ASAP... huuh, why I moved from moldova and lost my citizenship to file dcf too there?:( 16 days! It's just UNBELIEVEABLE!

  12. However, all that changed once we involved a congress person. They put in an inquiry and it was noted that our approved petition was sent to the records department instead of NVC. (This inquiry in itself took about 30 days) They have now corrected the mistake and have sent it to NVC. We just got our case number today. So hopefully things will move along nicely with no more hickups.

Welcome on board? Huhhh... they really like torture people's patience. It's easy for others to say be patient when their cases are actually moving, not stuck, right? ;)

Menefe, please reply how did you knew this information about sending to wrong place, they replied to congress person by e-mail, phone, fax? And where's that misterious records department , at USCIS??? Congratulation on your NUMBER at last!

TO everyone who stuck. How do you annoy them both to USCIS and NVC to know the status of your case: by phone, e-mail or by the help of senators or congress people?

    1. We send e-mails to NVC every week and to CSC every 2 weeks.

    2. Call to NVC automated system once every 2-3 days.

SHARE your experience how to reach them!

Skybri, what's your NOA2 date and timeline?

  13. Hello, everyone!

Anyone who has visited their honeys in US (by issued before guest visa B2) EVER mentioned you have fiancee there? Did they let you go in saying that or you were just omiting that fact? Thanks for answers if they'll be.

All this new law, waiting and nothing moving could drive even the patiest guys crazy (who we used to be till the moment). We didnt see each other from early January.:crying: and if they won't let me come in on the passport control it will be PERFECT as addition to their other faults...

  14. Crazy, just supposition made on experience of last week of my friend. She'd passed her interview on Thursday, and case was entered to DHL web-site just on Monday at 12.00 p.m. and then forwarded to their main office on the street of 8th of March at 16.30 p.m. They work till 8 p.m. so she didn't get on time there when she knew about that at 6 p.m. by checking their site (in spite of the fact they have her cell phone number on the receipt). So from Monday evening we've managed to order tickets on Tuesday afternoon (2.40 p.m.) She went to DHL at 9 p.m., for tickets at 10 p.m. (MAX-avia not far from the Embassy, Novinsky blvd.) and at the airport at about 12. Perfect schedule. ;)

So add 1 more day for you at any case and order your ticket ONLY when you'll see your case online on DHL site. SO let it be Wednesday for you. Be sure you mentioned DHL main office not on Tverskaya st., cause it takes more time to Tverskaya. Good luck! And share your experience later, ok? ;)

  15. Congrats, Chuckles! I do wish you both the best. You're already on the highway... to each other... on the fast way.

  16. This is a great post! Let me share my experiences with Russian translation. My Fiance does speak very good English but as she has pointed out, our daily personal emails and weekly phone conversations have brought her level of English to a much greater level. We had spoke over the phone at least twice a week before we met and that was for 4 months. I was learning on my own through books and CD Russian learning programs and when I traveled to Ekaterinburg, Russia in May, 2006. I was only using this knowledge of Russian launguage for my own use like taxi, airport, Apartment, but more importantly Maria's Mother!!! Maria speaks very good English. I bought a $450.00 Ectaco translator that does English to Russian and vise versa and has a simulated voice to tell me what to say. Beware of these devices as they are not as completey reliable as they advertize. I used the Ectaco translator to translate the word "Nervous" and it translated a Russian word meaning "Crazy"! A good Laugh as my Maria had caught the mistake. But I would never want to call her Mother crazy:))) To sum it up! YES, Learn the Crylic alphabet, Learn the Dialect of the region she is from, Just Learn Russian!!!

Here you go, Brad! Real love makes it improve much faster and much better by emotional help to memory. Good luck to you both to find common language of hearts.

  17. I am curious how long it takes (generally) for a K1 petition to clear the NVC and make it to the Moscow consulate. How long did you guys wait for? Also, do they notify you when they recieve and send it?

Our timeline is not the best to be compared to as file was lost (misplaced) for 85 days making total days from NOA2 to "receivied by consulate" 94 days.

How did they bother them to know it was lost? Please let us know too. Cause it seems to be so long for us and no e-mails to USCIS neither to NVC help. :(( Look at our timeline. Thanks.

    Mari
