  1. Hello I have two wonderful news for everyone! I was approved on the spot today at the Mt. Laurel USCIS office in NJ. The interview was quick. The officer was very pleased on how organized my packet was and she even said I did a better job than a lawyer. Everything they needed were all there. She didnt doubt our relationship at all. I am so happy to hear this as I really put my mind and soul into it! She only asked us these questions:

    how did we meet?

Are we still living in the same address?

How many times I have been in the US before?

Hows my relationship with my in laws?

She then proceeded in asking the general questions like, am I a terrorist, have i been arrested etc.

It was very smooth and casual!

    I am the beneficiary.

The second and best news of all is WE'RE HAVING A BABY!! My hubby and I are expecting our first child together! God is really good!!

    Quick background:

    July 18th: PD

    Aug 19th: Biometrics

Sept 16: Case is ready to be interviewed

Sept 22: AP approved No news on EAD

Sept 28: Interview is scheduled for Nov 2.

    Nov 2: Conditional GC approved.

    Thank you!!

  2. Hi guys!

I found this forum last night because I could not sleep since an anxiety of waiting for any progress on EAD.

I have a similar to A&K0608 dates of filing and processing times.

I have a job offer and I am willing to start working ASAP and it is so discouraging to see on updates on the case for a long time and not have any idea of when it will be updated.

Anyone in California (Bay Area) who filed mid July and received EAD already?

Wow, you are right we do have similar timelines. This morning I got an updtae that I am scheduled for interview on Nov. 2 which is good news!! However I have no update with my EAD yet, also my AP shows Case is approved as of Sept 22. It didn't go to card being produced or whatever... Good luck!

  3. Mailed AOS application July 14, 2016,did biometric August 17, 2016, received my combo card EAD/AP today August 22,2016 at home. Now waiting Green Card appointment. For now i am good to go. I wish you guys waiting on combo good luck Yorkshire i hope yours come soon.

    Congrats!!! So happy for you!

We have the same timeline, only difference is my biometrics was last Aug 19, 2016. Nothing yet on my EAD/AP.. Good luck on your GC interview!!

  4. Same as you - I've had my interview scheduled for October but nothing on my EAD or AP. Really want to be able to find a job soon so was hoping I'd have heard something by now.

Congratulations to everyone too who has had good news!

When is your PD? I don't have an interview date yet unlike you you are set for Oct... mine just shows ready to be sched for interview :( just checked the mail and nothing still!!?

  5. I am now getting nervous with my status. My PD is July 18 and my status is ready to be scheduled for interview as of Sept 6. Bio is done Aug 19. Nothing on EAD/AP.

My sister and my brother were denied of their visa, as I wanted them to come to my wedding in Oct, The consul said I miss used my VISA in the United States. My Mother thank goodness was approved.

Now I am wondering what do they see in their computer for people like me who is adjusting status here in the US. I never thought this will have a negative affect on me as I was very detailed on my status.

Do you guys think the consul from the Phil contacted USCIS here regarding my status? And will this affect my case moving forward?

  6. How is that relevant to us or anyone doing the AOS now?

I think It is relevant because it concerns our national security, with everything that is happening around us, the last thing we want to hear is another set of undocumented immigrants causing chaos and fear.

The article states: They approved immigrants from countries of concern to national security or with high rates of immigration fraud who had pending deportation orders.

  7. if you submitted your aos while being currently in status then it shouldnt of impacted there interview... were you out of status at a b2 when you filed you f1?

Yes I was still in status when I changed from B2 to F1 and went to school full time for a year. But didn't enroll after that because we were to get married anyway, so technically I was out of status before marriage ? Right now my case is ready to be scheduled for interview as of Sept 6. I am scared that my brothers denial will affect my GC aplication.. What do you think? Also scared that everyone in my family will never get to see me on my wedding. My bestfriend from the Phils also is coming bec she is my bridesmaid, I also sponsored her and gave her the same document and necessary stuff on her interview and she got approved 10yrs Multiple, the consul asked her how long have we been friends, she answered 12 yrs and the consul even said enjoy the wedding!

I am soooo sad and scared at the same time...

  9. It would help, if you could tell us a bit more about your timeline. I also applied for GC from F-1. Did you get married while your F-1 visa was still valid? If so, did you remain enrolled in school after you sent AOS? If you didn't, it will

show USCIS that you breached your visa status. I know technically you do not have to be enrolled in classes once married, but it is definitely recommended since you came here to study. A friend of

mine was also on an F-1 visa, got married and dropped school once the AOS was mailed. The case officer asked her if she was still studying as it says she breached the visa conditions. However, it did not have an impact on

her GC approval. Your GC is not approved though and if you are not on a valid F-1 visa anymore, I can understand that they would deny your family entry. If you want your family there, I would suggest to postpone your wedding

until you have your greencard since you are already married anyway.

I came here on B2, adjusted my status to F1 while still in status, I was a full time student for one year. I did not re-enroll for Sept. classes (fall 2015) as we were already to get married anyway. June we got married and submitted all my papers in July. My status said " as of Sept 6, ready to be scheduled for interview" however AP/EAD still showing case is recieveda July 18.

We cant postpone our wedding anymore bec its 3 weeks away and we already have paid most of it.

It is really sad, my brother was supposed to walk me down..? My father is not around.

I hope this doesnt happen to my Mother on Monday and I really hope more importantly this doesnt affect my GC. It will really break me apart as all of us JULY filers are getting close to the finish line (for now til we renew our GC to permanent or apply for citizenship)

  10. I believe it depends on the consul.. Did your spouse helped with their paperworks as well?

It does! Because my bff whose also my Bridesmaid, went to have her interview and she got 10yrs Multiple entry. I was her sponsor too, I sent her letters and invitations and intinerary and stuff same thing I did for my Brother... My Mom will have her interview this Monday I doubt she gets approved at this point... ? lol my eyes hurt from crying. Never thought it will affect me this much. I was so confident bec my beatfriend made it..

  11. Help!!!

My brother went to his visa interview yesterday to attend my wedding in October. Unfortunately he got denied. The reason was : " Your sister mis used her Visa in the US"

I am confused. I already got an update on my case Sept 6 that I am scheduled for an interview, I sent my packet in July 14 and it was received July 18th on the form.

I adjusted my status here in the States in 2014 From B2 to F1 and now GC because I got married in June. Technically I am out of dt status as I am waiting for the approvals for my permanent residency..

I am scared amd confused. cried all night... I miss my family so much! Will this affect me? My mom will be interview on Monday and they also got her name yesterday will that affect her too?

  12. I had my biometrics done earlier today. I went to the Elizabeth NJ office. Everything I read about the Elizabeth USC is true.?? I was there from 11:30-2:35 my appointment was 12nn. When I got to the receptionist, I have my appointment letter and ID. On my ID I still have my maiden name while my USCIS letter I had my married name. The lady asked me "you got married?" I said yes. Then she asked for my Marriage Cert?? I told her, I didnt think I needed to bring it because on the USCIS bio letter it states you only need to bring the apointment letter and ID. I also didnt think I need to show my marriage cert because obviosly I am here to adjust my status to a GC holder because I got married!! (duh) Then she said, You need to talk to my manager. Boom she brought me to the mgrs office, who was on lunch from 12:00-1:00, so I waited outside her office for 1 hr. There were 20 of us waiting for her. They went by what was on my ID which is my maiden name. I asked the supervisor what name will appear on my ead, greencard etc. now that on my biometrics they changed it to my maiden name. They gave me no answer :( I think I just have to wait and see.. I will keep praying. That's my story..oh, try the empanadas right across the office OMG amazing!! :) all the best to everyone! :)

  13. Honestly I wouldn't stress to much about the name change cause once you get your EAD you can get state ID... Once you get state ID the only purpose the passport serve is If you need to travel overseas just make sure the name on the ticket is the same as the passport... If whatever reason you put your married name on the ticket it's not a big deal just have your marriage certificate when your going threw customs to show proof that the name on the ticket and the name on the passport os the same person

Thank you! You are right I dont know why I'm even stressing about this. Anyway were not planning to go overseas til next year. best of luck to you thanks again

  14. At your biometrics appointment they need to see ID so if your passport is your ONLY form of ID do not do a name change... Why the rush to do a name change? If you need proof of marriage until the GC just keep a copy of your marriage certificate with you... If you can't prove your ID you can't do your biometrics

I see. I am trying to avoid paying $165 fee bec I just renewed it last year. Showing an ID on my biometrics appointment is more important. I will update my last name on my passport if everything is done.

  15. Hello fellow July filers! I just want to ask if it is safe for me to update my last name on my passport, it will probably take 6 weeks for them to give back the new passport showing my new last name however my fear is if I go to the Biometrics appointment (god willing i get one soon) they might ask for my passport and not be able to show it.. would that that cause problems? thank you!!!

I got my hardcopies NOA1 last July 28, dated July 25.
