  1. I recently applied for citizenship and I am waiting on my interview. I would really like to bring my sisters to the U.S. after I become a citizen. I am concerned about the long processing times. I was wondering if there is a chart available to determine which processing center my application would go to. I have read that the Texas Service Center is significantly faster and I am willing to move to an area under that jurisdiction if it would speed up the process to bring my sisters here. Is there any resource available to determine which processing center the application would go to?

  2. Hello, my dad is very sick in Peru. I would like to visit him in Peru. My Venezuelan passport expired last year. I have read that the Venezuelan passport is recognized for up to 5 years from the expiration date. I am looking to apply for a visa from Peru. Has anyone here traveled with expired Venezuelan passport? and if I have a valid visa from Peru would that be enough evidence?

Also, to add more complication to this issue my greencard expired. I have an I-797 to extend the greencard for another 18 months while I wait for AOS processing. Is that enough evidence to get back into the U.S.?

I wouldn't ask these questions if it wasn't urgent. My dad is very sick and I would at least like to see him if possible.

Does anyone have any experience with this that can provide some insight?

  3. Hello! Annel and I received an email (and a letter) that our fiance visa was approved on Oct. 3rd. I still don't know if the documents were sent from the California Service Center. I called the NVC and they told me that they do not have the documents yet. Is this typical? What was your wait time for the documents to be sent to the NVC?

We did not receive any recent change in the USCIS My Status....it just says that it was approved Oct. 3.

  4. Hello,

We are working on the K-1 visa to get married next year. We have a question about the criminal records process in Venezuela. Right now, things are very difficult to do anything in Venezuela and we want to make sure that we do not do something that we later regret. We heard several people wasted their trip to Caracas to get the criminal records, simply because they didn’t write the correct name. Which name should we write "Embassy of the United States of America, or Embassy of the United States of America in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela". We heard that the Embassy name was changed and we want to make sure we write it correctly.

This process is not easy in Venezuela due to political issues and we do not want to have any delays in K-1 visa process.

    Thanks,

    Annel and Morgan

    Hola,
    Gracias,
    Annel y Morgan
