  1. We had to cancel the interview date for my fiance that was on September 20th.

I had a very bad car accident just after Labor Day. Dealing with that, a few injuries, and not having a way to get to and from work has really interfered with me getting paperwork done. I just mailed off a HUGE packet to him today via FedEx so he should get it Friday. Once he confirms receiving the papers I will reschedule an interview in New Delhi. If all goes well we will still be on track for him arriving in late November, wouldn't you think?

Good luck to everyone having interviews this week and next!

  2. There are 4 types of Malaria. Some are not that bad while others make the person extremely sick with fever, etc. Basically it is a parasite that lives in the blood and goes dormant in the liver. Depending on the type, it could lay dormant in the liver for months and then recycle into the blood stream.

If the person is going thru an acute phase, I would doubt they would feel like traveling to the US right now. Rather than worrying if the person can come to the US, I wonder how he/she feels right now and if he/she is receiving proper treatment?

  3. I should have never posted this. This week I was in a major car accident and now my life is in hell. The worse part is that it was my fault. I ran into the back of someone (traffic light was disabled and didn't see his brake lights). My car is most likely totaled. The other 2 cars are damaged and 1 guy says he is injured. Although at the scene he had a red bump on his forehead....I guess he could be hurt....not sure....BUT, he didn't have his seatbelt on that I saw.

So anyway, at the moment my life is in turmoil. I just hope it all gets worked out before my fiance gets here. I would hate to be going thru all of this when he arrives.

  4. What do each of you do to pass the time while waiting for your K1 visa to be processed?

Seems I'm running out of things to do. I've read all of the books I wanted to read and watched all of the movies. I guess I could always start weeding things out of the closet to make room for his clothes.

  5. We have an interview date of Sept. 20th but we don't have all of our papers together yet. Both me and my fiance are freaking out. I don't see how I can get the papers to him in time so I have emailed the New Delhi embassy to ask for a postponed appointment. We will just feel more comfortable to postpone it than to stress over the documents arriving there in time. I should receive the letter from my employer for the affidavit of support tomorrow.

Looks like we are a few weeks behind but that's okay. We weren't planning on his arrival to America until around Thanksgiving anyway. Does that make us look bad to the embassy?

  6. I was just talking to my fiance today and he was telling me about how he will just pay the bribe and get it done quickly. He says not to worry because in India anything can be done with enough money. LOL As a non-desi I just laugh and say that the same can be done here but it only costs more! LOL :jest:

He is still waiting on Packet 3 to arrive. But we are working on the rest of the papers needed. Our goal is to have him here by the end of November for my birthday. :P

  7. I was going to get a head start on completing the affidavit of support for my fiance's K1 process. However, I have no idea if it should be the 864 or 134. The New Delhi US Consulate website says I-134. Does this sound right?

Thanks for any and all assistance!

Good luck to all in your final stages.

  8. Gomez, I remember when you got your NOA2 and I felt like it would be forever until I was approved. Well, I got my NOA2 and my case has already arrived at the consulate in New Delhi. They sure kept you waiting....but it all works out in the end.

Good luck the rest of the way!

  9. My guy had to go to the birth registery place in his state (Uttar Pradesh). He got a certificate of non-availability and two people (his mother and uncle...since his father has died) to sign affidavits saying when he was born. We sent those items for our I129 petition and it was approved with those items. I have no idea if it cost him anything. He didn't say that part.

    Good luck!

  10. We are working on a K1. I am white american and he is indian. We are going thru New Delhi and our case just arrived there today! I guess it will be a few weeks before he gets packet 3 and several weeks for an interview. I think the process is getting ahead of us all of a sudden. LOL We have a ton of papers to gather now. He still doesn't even have his passport in hand!

  11. My case was received at NVC on the 3rd also! It was sent to the embassy the next day and it arrived in New Delhi, India today. Things are moving right along now! However, now comes the long wait for the packet 3 and interview date. I understand my embassy is running about 6 weeks out with interview dates.
