One document on the list to be brought to the medical examination is a medical history form. How do I get this form? I recall filling one out and sending it to the NVC which would mean they are going to send it to the embassy so how do I get this form on the day of my medical exam?

This is probably long gone you immunization from will need to be updated with all the necessary shots (if you don't already have all of them)

Assuming that you haven't done so already but you will need to go to Andrews Memorial Hhospital at 27 Hope Road, Kingston 10 Jamaica, WI. Here are some info from their website

Before you begin, you must have:

    1. An appointment letter from the Embassy
    2. Medical History Form from your package
    3. Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
    4. 4 passport sized photos
    5. Immunization records if available
    6. Current medications
    7. Current address of where client will be living abroad. Please include: street number, street       name, city and area code.
    8. Date of birth of all your children (FOR MOTHERS ONLY)
    9. Local telephone contact in Jamaica (name and number)

We recommend that you budget an additional $30,000 per applicant for children under 5 years and $20,000 from 6 years to adulthood to cover the costs of vaccines or any other additional tests you may be requested to do.

Failure to complete your medical examination well in advance of your visa interview may result in delays with your visa application.

Once you have fulfill the medical requirements it will be sent to the embassy before your interview. You will also be handed a copy. Keep it, copy it, you will need it.

  2. Hello,

So my Journey has not been the fastest and things certainly did not occurred as I would have liked. When I got into the country on May 12 I had a plan., to get everything done quickly. I got my SSN about two weeks after my arrival but when i tried to get my license I was told I needed to have a FL ID card and to get that I would need some other form of ID other than my Jamaican one. I waited until we got married in June, mailed off the OAS, sadly it was returned after several weeks of waiting for a response. Then the hurricane came and further delayed the process. Up to this point i am still waiting for my green card! I recently got my EAD card so  I am wondering if I can just go to the DMV again with my EAD this time and get my driver's license?

NB: I will take the I-94 with me just the same as although i know its way beyond 90 days. I tried to get it done within that time but i cant rush immigration

Good question! I suspect that their computer won't accept less than all 10 fingers... but of course I have no idea. When you go to the appointment, tell the first person you see what the situation is and explain how you couldn't reschedule because there wasn't time. Ask them if it would be better to just reschedule now, and see if they can give you a new appointment.

Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

So when I got there the first lady at the front desk looked at my finger then she called another lady, then that lady called a guy to look at my hand to see if I could do the fingerprint with cut on my index finger. At the end he said I should reschedule until 3 weeks time.

They all were nice overall but my fingerprint could not get done yesterday.

  4. So I got a dilemma that I'll have to deal with tomorrow. Tomorrow is my fingerprint appointment but I recently got cut by a razor and had to get a minor surgery on my finger as it was infected. Now part of my print is gone 😑 (sigh) talk about bad timing. I am planning on just showing up at the appointment tomorrow and show them my finger as I can't send the notice to be reschedule at such short notice.

My question is, does anyone know if they will do 9 fingers and then ask me to come back at a later date for the other one or they will just reschedule me for another date to do all ten at once?

NB: This is going to be my second reschedule as I was reschedule because of Irma.

I didn't have to do the test because I already had a Florida DL that was expired since may 2016...what does your I-94 say, is it expired?

Yeah my I-94 should be expired now. Been here since May. So I guess since its expired it won't work then right?

If you're close of the office just go there this afternoon and try it...do not forget to bring with you your appointment letter and passport.

I got my drivers license here in Florida with my NOA1 2 days after getting it, and I even had my I-94 expired at the time...go to DMV with your NOA1s, I-94, passport, proof of address and you can get it...I sent my package to USCIS on June 12 and got my drivers license June 26th.

Oh nice! Here I thought I would need to wait to first in order to get it. This could save me a lot of time too and get me adjusted a little more. They asked you to do the driving test right?

Hi, I did a walk in for my biometrics in July 3rd at West Palm Beach and it was successful, I got there a little after 1:00PM and had no problems, I went so late because I saw many people saying that they were refused in the morning (because they usually have a line in the morning) so I recommend you to go after noon to make sure that they are not so busy.

    Good Luck!

PS: Did you get your drivers license yet?

I checked on google and it says the office in Tampa was busy in the morning (this morning that is) but I am at a point where I just feel like I need to walk in myself to get it done as this is taking a long time.

No I don't have my license yet as I am waiting on my Green card.

  8. I had an appointment for September 13, 2017 in Tampa. I went there but the office was closed due to Irma. I've been waiting for an reappointment letter but none so far. Can I just walk in and get my biometrics done? What are the not so busy days/times? Is there a way to schedule the appointment myself?

i dont know why people just don`t read guides and fees in the USCIS web site and double check their application. While these forums are useful but you end of the day it is your responsibility to make sure you do your due diligence. A lot of people have their applications returned just because of simple mistake on filing fees.

    Filing Fees:

    I-130

A personal check or Money Order amount of $535 made out to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

    I-485

A personal check or Money Order amount of $1225 made out to U.S. Department of Homeland Security. (Including biometric fee).

you need reorganize your files again and submit with correct fees. Also make sure you use the updated forms as well.

I read it but not thoroughly. Lesson learned. Thank You.

  10. Firstly,  I'd like to express my appreciation for all the help given here in visajourney.

I am now at a crossroad and I am not sure as to what to do. My application was sent back to me (rejected) as I was told my filing fee of $1070 was not correct (I got that amount here on visajourney by the way), I was told that the correct amount is $1225 instead. The package was NOT returned the same way i sent it to USCIS. What I want to know is this, should I send the package back (with correct amount) the same way USCIS sent it me or do i have to reorganize it again?

    Thank you in advance!

I would include the employment letter anyway unless its really hard to get. It's better to be more safe.

We had submitted one a while back with the I129F and since we wanted to send it off by monday was just wondering if we another option if the letter takes a longer time to come.

  12. Hello guys!

So we are in the in the process of submitting our adjustment of status but I notice that they'll need my passport (i am the beneficiary or Alien if yiu wanna call it that) but i remember that my wife (then fiancee) had to sign all pages of her US passport when we submitted our I129F, so i am wondering if now we will have to do the same with my Jamaican passport for the adjustment of status?  Also,We havent received the job letter yet, could we use her most recent paystubs as proof of employment?

    Let me know please

  13. I am curently at the medical hospital in Kingston. I did mine a head of time and it was no issue. Once its on the immunization card then he/she should be fine. The cost without vaccines is $20,375JMD.

    Hope this helps.
