  1. Several Colombia VJ'ers were going through K1 and CR1 processes about 1.5 years ago. A thread was created to sort of track the progress of our cases and swap stories and tips. I believe most of us who were "approved" after interview had status change several times, including to "administrative processing". I wouldn't worry about it. This is just an interim status that they use. The important thing is if they kept the applicant's passport. That's an indication that they plan to proceed with printing the visa.

thank you!! I know I'm freaking out! I just want to see my fiance now.... we have only been apart for 1 month during our relationship (he lived in Colombia) so I really miss him and I know I'm stressing out

  2. Hi,

I had my interview last week (august 24) in Bogotá, Colombia. It went very well and only took like 2 minutes and I was approved but it has been a week and on monday (august 29) I checked the status of my case and says it's under administrative processing which is stressing me out so much since many people I met at the interview day already got their passports ready to be picked up. the status changed on august 29 but it's still the same... it hasn't been updated. has someone experienced this in Colombia? did it take too long?

  3. Oh that's great!!! I was also worried that they might say something about him living abroad for 1 year...

With no income, your fiance will need to have $60,000 (3x $20,000) to petition for you without a co-sponsor. He can count his stocks and savings. He can not count his home and one car.

  4. Hi everyone,

I already got my NOA2 and I'm starting to gather the next package of information I need.... but I'm unsure if we should have a co sponsor or not.

My fiance hasn't been living in the US for the past year because he was living in Colombia with me, so he doesn't have a job in the US but he's starting to apply.

He does have the last 3 tax returns and he was making way more than the poverty line, he also have some stocks in the market and some savings in his bank account.

Do you think we will need a co sponsor?
