  1. My mother is going to co-sponsor my fiancee.

Question 10: My mother has sent in a visa in the past for the previous husband. At the time the visa was sent he was her husband; they are now divorced. Should she list husband or ex-husband for the relationship.

Question 11: Based on the example I-134 and other threads, I have not checked anything on 11 for my form, and instead put "N/A" in the section. Should my mom do the same? Or should she check off "intend" on her I-134?

  2. I noticed a discrepancy in the example I-129F on this site and the instructions. For question 13 in part 1, it reads "select only one box." I selected box 13.a. as I am an American born citizen. My fiance and the example form lead me to believe I need to select "no" for box 13.d. Am I supposed to mark this box as well? Seems if they have 13. a,b,c,d, I would just pick one box. I'm confused.

  3. I have seen many threads on this site contradicting whether to use blue or black ink for signatures. For the I-129F, I see that I must fill it out in black ink, but do I sign in black or blue? As for the G-325A, there are no ink instructions, but I'm guessing it follows whatever the I-129F asks for? Then the letter of intent, I see no ink color requirements, but I assume it doesn't have to follow the I-129F since it isn't a form?

I appreciate any and all help!

  4. With the self-employment income and income from your other source(s), the income is still below the requirement? If your current annual income from the other source(s) added in with the self-employment income meets the requirement, then you should be ok. You just need to show proof of the income.

If you need a co-sponsor, then you can use one. The co-sponsor needs to have enough for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e). They fill out their own separate I-134 and provide the same supporting documents needed by the USC petitioner/sponsor.

I think I might be too low. Is there any negative of having a co-sponsor? Any horror stories of it making the interviewee less likely to get a visa? I want to play it safe by having the co-sponsor if it helps, but not if for some reason it makes me look "bad."

  5. Are you self-employed? They will go by line 22 of the 1040, which is Total Income after business deductions. If you are an employee, then it will be your gross current annual income.

I am partially self employed. Most of my money comes from self employment. The line 22 on my 1040 is under the 125% of poverty level. Should I get a cosponsor? I'm in Texas if that makes a difference. Does the K1 have less of a chance of working if I use a cosponsor and not just my own income?
