  1. Hi "Waiting4321".

We were also requested for more information, but never received this message. Our status went directly to, you have been put in line for an Oath Ceremony, which had us assume we had been approved.

What I have learned through my research and reading Many different timelines and process, is that they are super inconsistent! Don't stress until you know anything for sure. There were other people who got different or more messages than we did, it was VERY difficult to know what was coming next or guess a timeline. If you still want to investigate I would suggest only comparing cases in your district. I was able to estimate the upcoming Oath Ceremony dates somewhat, and what would happen to use next, but I had to only read cases for the Detroit Office and the western half of Michigan region.

It is a long and tiring process, my heart is with you. Good Luck!

    Hi guys,
My USCIS online status changed to "supervisor review is complete. We will notify you of a decision"

Does anyone know what happens next? Is this positive? If anyone else has gone through this, plz let me know.

    Thanks

  2. Hello everyone,

So I had my interview. Everything went well but there was a request for further documentation (what I had were copies and they wanted official/notarized docs) which I provided. Just today I saw the status changed to "On September 7, 2016, your case, Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number #### was submitted to a supervisor for review. This is a standard process we use to ensure the quality of our decisions. We will let you know if we make a decision or need anything from you"

Did anyone go through this? How long does it take from here to the next step? Does the status change on the site? Is this the time to visit my senator to speed up the process? Any suggestions and insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We had our Interview on Aug 9th. We were also asked to submit more documentation (not originals, another request). We prepared them and mailed them to arrive at the Detroit field office at 10am on Friday Aug 12th. We did not hear anything until Aug 26th when our online status changed to the below status.

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number NBC----------, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

We did not receive the status you have, which I would assume would come before ours. I searched around online and it seems there is a next status that reads "You have been scheduled for an Oath Ceremony...". The woman on the general hotline said this is what should happen. This said, I have been told or seen people write that they

    - Only received one or the other of these status

    - received no status updates and got a call asking them to come the next day because someone canceled and there was an opening.

    - Received the status I now have and it only changed to say "You have been scheduled.." the day before the notice came in the mail

    - They received the status "You have been scheduled... please notify us if you do not receive it by --/--/--" and they received it and their Ceremony was before the given date to notify of non arrival. So they would have missed the Ceremony if the mail got lost.

    - They were told at the Interview the date despite being is the Western District, and then their official letter came in the mail after the Oath happened.

So all of this said. If they approve you you should get the above status, then a status that you have been Scheduled, then receive a letter. But all of that doesn't always happen. Basically you just have to wait and guess and it is frustrating. My biggest concern is the mail getting lost and missing the Ceremony because they give you a date after your ceremony to notify if you haven't gotten the letter!

If you live in the Western District they do your Ceremony in Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo. One person posted that they do them the third Wednesday of the month, and this is consistent with about four Grand Rapids Oath dates I could find on Timelines, but someone was told that there was no GRR Ceremony this month. There is a Kalamazoo Oath on the 16th and possibly the "end of September"

Hope some of this was helpful. Please let us know if you learn anything more than this!

  3. I will update you if we hear anything. We are from the Lansing area by the way, so it's about the same distance to GR or Kalamazoo - maybe this is the reason they offered both locations to us? If they approve people on the interview day they tell them the oath date immediately. If not (like for you and me) they send emails. For several people I know it took about couple weeks between the "in line" and "oath scheduled" status.

Agree about not much time given. My husband went to an interview on July 20th or so and got scheduled for the oath on Aug 4th. They gave him the notice right at the interview, but the official mail (saying "your oath is on Aug 4th") came on Aug 10th or so, almost a week after the oath. This is why I will be calling them if I do not hear from them by the end of next week.

I found out from someone else that there is an Oath in Kalamazoo on Sept 16th. Wanted to let you know in case the person you spoke to was referring to this one. Don't want you to miss your Oath because the letter comes too alter.

  4. Can you please update when you get your letter, or if you status changes, so we have an idea of when it will be? We are excited that it seems to be approved, but are already missing a wedding outside of the country because we can't leave and want to plan our work travels. I don't understand why if they can give Detroit people information the day of their interview, why Western Michigan applicants can't have a better system.

My bigger concern is that Gagaga & Kevin's status changed on June 3rd to say if you don't hear by July 3rd contact us and then their Oath was June 15th! Which means if their notices had gotten lost in the mail they would have missed it!

Good Luck, hope we both hear something soon!

  5. Hi, I am not Gagaga or Kevin, but we are also going through the Detroit office. My husband is already done, he first got the "We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice..." message and about two weeks later got "We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number..." email. The ceremony took place in Kalamazoo in July.

I was not approved during the interview, which was mid July. They just said the decision cannot be made. About a two weeks ago I got a phone call from the Detroit office - they asked me if I can make for the ceremony in Grand Rapids which would be the next day (it was August 18th) - apparently someone canceled and they had an opening. When I said I cannot and rather do the one in September (I also read about once a month ceremonies in GR) I was told the there will be no ceremony in GR in September, but the there will be one in October. I was also offered to go to Kalamazoo for the oath in late September, which i agreed to. They said they'll send me a notice, but I do not have anything yet. We'll be calling them if I do not have anything in two weeks... Hope this was helpful.

    Thanks Polli,

It was helpful. Did you not receive any online status changes before they called you? They are so inconsistent. Did they tell you when the September date in Kalamazoo is? I didn't know they even did them in Kalamazoo!

  6. @ kevin #grandrapids

    my status changed today.

We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxx. We sent a with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by July 3, 2016, please go towww.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

hope you got yours as well!! cant wait to get this over with.

    Hello Gagaga and Kevin337798,

I was reading through your conversation. Thank you it was very helpful. I am wondering if you can tell me if your status changed to say that you were "placed you in line for your oath ceremony" before it changed to say "we scheduled your Oath..."? or was the status of "we scheduled your Oath" the first you heard after your interview?

We are in a bit of a different circumstance that they did not approve at the Interview, they wanted some more documentation to be sent. We sent the papers and this is the first we have heard from them. The below statement came sometime in the last week. We are assuming this is an approval or else they would not schedule an Oath instead sent a denial letter, but you never know with these things.

Any information you can give would be helpful to make an estimate. Where did you get your information about once a month on the third Wednesday in Grand Rapids? I have been poking around and your is the first post I could find about this, We are praying for the September Oath if that is still the case! Their language is also odd that "You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date." because I assume they mean 30 days from now, not 30 days of the mailing date. How would I know when they mail it?!

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number NBC*---------, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Hope all is well now that this is out of the way!
