  1. No. myusps.com does not show anything so far. I am wondering whether the post office has not scanned it yet. I have seen some folks receive their cards without the tracking number showing up. Might just show up tomorrow just like that. Let's hope that is the case.

I've read that people receive cards without anything showing up first (physical approval mail, online status- all can be skipped). Perhaps I'll follow the instructions for once and sit back till Oct 23. I can finally focus on job search now and would be very happy if some employer hands me a I-9 form within a month :D

  2. However, I forgot to save all the copies when I filed adjustment of status the first time. I was unable to retrieve some evidence I submitted the first time like medical insurance, dental insurance etc.. However, I did my best and gave my best shot.

I wish you the best too! The files you submitted for AOS do not need to be repeated, unless it shows continuation. I even included K-1 meeting in person evidence in I-751 petition that turned out to be unnecessary. I included medical insurance tax form and dentist statement second time; I had marriage therapist affidavit first time, and sent individual therapy notes with reference to marriage second time (RFE).

It's a tough period and you'll laugh one day when you look back. I really got into the habit of envisioning worst case scenarios and would advise anyone against that. Then it turned out to be more of a waiting game than possibility of denial. School, work, volunteer...routine kills time and keeps the mood up. I am grateful the final exam prep periods helped me go through the summer!

  3. Hi kikat, sorry to hear what you've been through, the double stress of relationship and I-751. Eventually we go past this super anxiety stage. I've read extensively on other waiver cases on this site and others, and do not find many rejections at all and when it happens a lot of the times it's a technical issue (missing a mail etc). If I were asked for advice I'd say keep the routine and live low-key till this period is gone.

Worst case you get RFE and interview. When your case passes normal processing time do make inquiries just in case you miss anything in the mail. For a divorce waiver (not abuse waiver) the most important evidence is the evidence of being together during "good times" from start of your marriage to separation. Long history of romance and obvious reasons for separation count a bit less in my opinion according to uscis standards of approval. Good luck!

  4. I looked at some other cases and usps.com for the fun of it. USPS priority mail (that carries the green card, tracking # start 9205) takes 1-3 business days depending on where you live. Most areas 2 business days. It comes from Corbin KY 40701. I did a quick search and some vj users report 2-5 days from they get "my card is mailed" update to having green card in hand.

  5. Chicha...did you get another update that the UPS has picked up your card? I have not yet.

No I haven't. I cannot do the myusps.com sign-up for notification either since mine is a c/o address of someone I sublet from that I cannot pass the verification. Still it's a great idea and I saw a few Vjers recommended it for USCIS/general use.

I'm still going to the infopass appointment on Monday 9/26 that I made a while ago to get a tracking number or to what address they send the card to. USCIS has 3 addresses on file since I initially filed I-751.

  6. Instead of sending receipts I strongly suggest sending statements spanning marriage and explain in affidavit that you both use those accounts and generally for what. I did that for my rfe. Uscis wants to see these accounts continuously accessed by two.

  7. If the couple have disparate credit scores, it's a very legit reason for not having "shared assets & liabilities" - loans may not be approved or even if approved the rates are less favorable. Therefore the couple don't have assets financed by these loans.

    I suggest

    1) Include in a second affidavit the poor credit (what caused it, less important) and the joint financial decision based on poor credit (more important)

    2) Supply docs showing poor credit (credit report, denial decision)

    3) Send papers that shows ownership/financing of only one person but explain in affidavit or side note it's for two people's use

I got a lack of joint assets & liability RFE and did the above for RFE response. In retrospect I could have saved myself a RFE but I was somehow embarrassed (it's not USCIS business to judge. Its just our problem to fix :)
