Looks like it is the reading and comprehension of English that is being retested. The IO probably thought your Dad’s answers or lack of them to certain questions were inappropriate. If his conversational everyday English is good then there should be no problem. Is it?

Thank you yes he do speak every day English might be need some more practice

How is his English (reading, writing, speaking)?  It's not common to have a 2nd interview, but it does happen...usually if the applicant wasn't proficient enough in English to the IO's satisfaction (reading, writing and speaking), or fails the civics test (which you say he passed).

His English is okay he can read and write and speak. He also do job in food industry.

Not it sure what to practice for 2 test

What do you mean your father wasn't sure what to say?

Was the IO trying to verify during the interview if your father ever lived on that street, and your father didn't respond yes or no?  What was the question asked?

Odd also that your dad didn't receive the N 652 form which is handed out at the end of the interview.  Perhaps it's something as simple as your dad didn't pass the civics/reading/writing test (and thought he did).

(Only one other thing comes to mind when I hear the word/name "Adam" as it pertains to USCIS.....but doubt it's that)

What he remember is that he need to change his last name so he was saying to go to Adam street. Which also doesn’t ring any bell why he will say this. My father don’t remember actual word but he told me he didn’t know about question and from where he was referring too. In application we didn’t mention any thing relates to Adams.

Yes, IO also said yes you pass verbally but didn’t hand out any thing. So not sure which area he refer to that he is pass.

  4. Hello

Yesterday my father received 2 interview notice which says re-interview reading, writing or speaking English. Re-interview naturalization in chicago office.  I am not sure what they will ask.

Can some please share your experience.

He he had his 1st interview two months  ago as per officer he pass the exam and didn’t give any paper work saying he passed or failed and my father also don’t remember which area they failed him. As per him he answer all civic question properly. He also saying some thing regarding Adam street some thing which my father wasn’t sure what to say.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. No. they require the Nadra Birth Certificate.

if you are in Karachi, you can get it from the Municipal Office at Saddar.

Thank you so much actually in packet 3.5 we send the original english translated birth certificate. And now we sent hospital generated birth certificate. So on the safe side should we send nadra one also. We got it today

    Thank you for your help

This is exactly what happened to me! Our birth certificate fell out of the folder and got stepped on. They said it was too dirty, so we needed to send in a new one. We just went to the municipal office and got a new one. It only took thirty minutes. Even though out countries are different, I don't think there should be a big difference in how yours is processed. We literally got it the same day after the interview.

    Thank you

Yes today we got the govt made borth certificate.

Thinking but not sure to submit that one

  6. Hello,

My fiance had an interview on Oct 4, every thing went well and CO mention that you will get visa information in 2 weeks. But they also give the slip saying need to submit the original Birth certificate.

Unfortunately, we couldn't find the original one but we submitted the original birth certificate which we got from hospital. Is this is acceptable.?

    Thank you
