  2. What name exactly will be checked? The maiden name or the new married name? My maiden name is fairly uncommon, but my new (husbands) last nae is very very common....could that be a reason why nothing at all is happening with my case right now?

Dont worry about FBI background check , The only one things is that as long as your name is not "HIT" . That is the only reason why some people take a year untill name check is Done .

  3. I just wait only 3 months untill my name is cleared ..Thanks everyone !

  5. Appointment was at 8.30am today, we got there around 7.45am. There's 5 hour parking (metered per hour) at the side of the building. :) Went in, got a security check and left the letter at the tray. There were quite a few people waiting! A lot of people with naturalization books to study from. heehee.

Saw people getting called in, and we finally got called around 9.10am? Very nice woman called us, and brought us to a room down a hallway. Handed passport and Driver's license to her, and Husband's Driver's license- she checked them and swore us in. We commented that our file was thick, and she said that it was actually quite small compared to a lot of others! lol. We asked why, she said it was because some people file more than once/appeals etc.

Got asked a few questions- date of birth; place of birth; date of wedding; who was there; how we met; where we had the wedding; who were the witnesses etc. She looked at lease, joint bank statements, joint car insurance, and one wedding picture. :D

Asked us if we had the approved EAD/AP with us, but we didn't (only got approval emails a few days ago!). Chatted about how some passports had really weird paper when she looked through my passport for entry stamps (mine was fine though!).

Finally she said I was approved, and said that my security check was also cleared. YAY!. She then stamped the passport and took the I-94. Told us that we didn't need the EAD or AP anymore, and can just use the stamp to show that I can work etc. About the EAD/AP, She told us to mail it in when we got it. Told us about the lifting of conditions in 2 yrs, congradulated us and said that the stamp is valid for 60 days. :D Shook hands, said bye/thanks and that was it! Done at about 9.35am. :D

Quite fun/painless. Phew. Am so glad my AOS was ALOT easier than expected. Now done with USCIS for 2 yrs! yay!!

    Congratulations !!!!

  6. I think our interview in Honolulu today might qualify. At promptly 2pm, we went into the office, got sworn in, and then began. The interviewer was very friendly, asked a few absurdly simple questions like "What date was your wedding?" and "What is your address?". She was shuffling through all the documents from the I-485 submission all the while, making jokes, and complimented me on the organization of the paperwork. Before the interview, I was a bit nervous that we didnt have enough evidence, but she never asked for a single piece! Not one photo, one bank statement, not even the vaccination supplement. The whole interview lasted 10 mins, and Gie and I were in disbelief as we walked out at just how simple it was.

I have to give you all alot of credit, I couldnt have done it without ya! Thanks so much for all the help, and looking forward to helping others when I can.

Congrats for a successful interview , Wish you wil get your GC soon as possible , By the way they never tell you , They will approved you as soon as FBI background check is cleared . Good Luck

Our wedding day. It was Very Easy. They Approved Van But Thu is still Pending FBI Checks. The Interview Stated that She will be approved after The checks are complete. They Stamped Vans passport With a temporary I-551 And she will receive her 2 year GC within 30 days. We were finished and on our way out at 9:50.

Congrats for a sucessful interview , Yeah everyone of us go through background check and I wish your's not take long like mine.Good Luck

  8. Guys

I found out that my AOS case is at the desk of an immigration officer just waiting for his/her approval. But at this time I have to move out of state. Can any one tell me how important it is to inform them of the change in address? I am really worried that it might screw things up if I change offices. Please advice if anyone has been in a similar situation or not.

I feel I am really close to an approval .

    Thanks all,

    H

Hi there , How did you know that your AOS case is on the immigration desk ? did you call ?

  9. Hi , I am a new member on this thread ..I got an interview last feb 21 and the uscis girl told me that everything went well with my interview , but they told me that the FBI is running 2 weeks behind . She will approved me as soon as they hear fromthe FBI , OH MY God Its been 2 months after my interview still nothing happened.Oh well there is nothing to do just wait and wait , base what I read FBI name check background its took 30 to 120 days untill the name is cleared.

  10. My wife was approved today!!! Our interviewer called us in and asked us if we were still married, asked for my wife's passport, asked to see our marriage certificate, asked if we had photos (she didn't look at them), and asked if we had any mailings to our address to show that we lived at the same address. We had everything she asked for, I asked if she wanted our rental agreement, utility bills, bank account info. etc... She said "Sure," but it wasnt a big deal to her. Then she stamped "Approved."

Thank you VJ for all your help.

Congrats ! finally the process is over and you never go through with the FBI name background check , that was fast .

  11. I am so happy, just checked my e-mail and got this letter.
