  1. Thanks for all the replies!

Actually, I am showing stamps from my Australian and UN Passport for the proof of seeing each other. Because I enter the US on my Australian passport, but I enter Thailand (where I live), on my UN passport. My fiance and I are showing the entry dates to Thailand in our passport to prove some past trips that we did together (as we didn't know we needed to keep boarding passes at the time). So I just don't want the adjudicating officer to get confused why the numbers on the documents I am showing are different.

laconilab13 - could you clarify the A number? I didn't realise I have an Alien Registration Number (is that what you mean)? Do you get one every time you enter (I enter on the visa waiver program for visits, and on a work/business visa when I go for work). Where do I find this number?

I129F doesn't ask about previous trips - I think that comes at a later stage.

    Cheers,

    Heike

  2. Hi All,

I have multiple passports - australian, german and a United Nations Laissez Passer. I am the beneficiary of the K1 visa application.

Do I include copies of all passports? I have traveled to the US on my Australian passport on 10/2015 (to visit fiancee) and will visit on 08/2016; and on the UN passport in 11/2015 (for work). In 2008 I traveled to the USA on my previous German passport.

Nowhere in the I129 F form does it say to include a copy of the beneficiaries passport - or have I just overlooked this?

I think I should include them, as I am showing entry stamps into the US as proof of visiting my partner, but I am worried that the different numbers on the documents will be confusing.

Finally, I will apply for the K1 visa at the US embassy in Australia as an Australian citizen

    Thanks!

  3. I still don't understand that. Especially when there is no marriage certificate

no marriage certificate = no marriage.

Can you let me know how it would lead to someone thinking we are married?

We are in a committed relationship and established a joint account for practical reasons e.g. paying bills and for flights.

Also, why would the immigration official be trying to prove we are already married?

Sorry, but I am just trying to understand your argument and decide on a response for my application.

    Thanks!

  4. Hi All,

My USC fiancee will be studying while we are going through the K1 process, which means he doesn't have enough income to provide support for me, according the USCIS requirements.

I on the other hand have a bunch of savings. Is it ok for me to deposit a sufficient amount into our joint account, and then use the joint account statement for supporting documents?

Or should we still have his parents also provide an affidavit of support?

    Thank you!

    Heike

  5. Thanks for the reply! I can add an explanatory note.

Could you clarify on the police report. The Australian police report is no problem. I don't need a German one as I left when is was 5.

I was planning to file the police report in Thailand when I leave. It's pretty straightforward to get it while I'm there. But you're telling me that if I file for it in November, immediately return to Australia, and if my interview is in April, they will not accept the police report? Even though they can see from my travel dates that I have not been in Thailand and physically could not have committed a crime. That seems a little absurd?

  6. Hi All

I am about to start the K1 process (I am the Australian, he is the USC) and I have a couple of questions:

    - I-129F asks for all US entry dates. I entered on a J1 visa in 2005, leaving in 2006 within 3 months after working. I don't have a copy of this visa or my entry dates as I had to surrender my old Australian passport. I had it replaced as it was damaged before it expired and I paid for a new one. I don't have my employment records either (i emailed the employer, but as it's 12 years ago I don't expect a reply). Do you foresee any problems with not having this passport/copies of the visa and entry stamps?

    - when I was a J1 i got a social security card. Is that still valid to quote in my forms? It was 12 years ago that I had the J1.

    - the remaining US visa and entry stamps are in my old German passport, as I am a dual citizen. I will present all copies, but I am filing as an Australian. Any problems with that?

    - I plan to file in Australia (with my mothers' address which is also on my drivers' licence), but I am currently working in Thailand. I currently have work in Thailand until the end of the year, but I am uncertain whether I would be in Thailand or Australia when the documents are forwarded to the US consulate overseas. In case I am still in Thailand, I would fly to Australia to complete the paperwork/interview. This should be fine with my employer - do you foresee any issues with filing in Australia even though I'm currently residing in Thailand? In case I don't have work in Thailand later, I also won't keep my current mailing address, so Australia is the more logical choice.

Thanks in advance for all your replies!!
