  1. When it comes to driver's license I had the weirdest experience ever... once it was close to the expiration date I went to dmv and asked to renew it. So they asked me for the letter that immigration sent it to me which I had and gave it to them and some other docs. They issued me a temporary one and than after 2 months I received the actual card that was valid for 5 years even though my application for roc was pending. During those 2 months I went to dmv 3 times because usually it takes about 10 days to receive a card but during those visits when asked about my DL at dmv I was getting the answer that department of hs hasn't verified my paperwork that's why I was getting  a delay. After 3 times of going there they gave me a number to call Sacramento... spent 1 1/2 hour on the phone and the lady told me that they haven't received any of my paperwork and asked me to resend it directly to her email so she could look in to it. Req docs were noa letter, expired gc, expired dl and the temporary dl that was issued by dmv. So she called me back the next day and told me everything is good and I should get my dl within 10 business days. I got the dl in a week and it was valid for 5 years so I took as good sign for my roc because they had to verify it with department of hs and I thought everything has to be pretty smooth.. but it wasn't quite smooth as I expected it to be.. after a few months I received RFE.. even though I made pretty huge package of evidence and their list of docs that they were asking was pretty broad... Anyway I submitted most docs of what they wanted and ot approved little less than in 2 months.

  2. What does it say on the letter? RFE is that they are asking for more evidence to prove that your marriage is real. The officer was not convinced enough to approve your case or you are one of those lucky ones as I was :) what did they say in the letter? Rfe can't be issued just because you did not answer 3 questions. Also they have specific guideline of what they are asking to include in the letter. What were they?

  3. you guys are posting the same questions over and over again... please scroll back the pages and you will find most scenarios of what you are experiencing in the past posts. In the mean time, if your letter is a few days away from expiring make an appointment through the phone and get your passport stamped if you need to prove your status, employement eligibility or you are going to travel outside of the United States. You should though call them anyway and ask to process e-request and ask what is going on with your case. If they say you are still within the processing times ask to speak with tier2 agent and have them to do so. While you jump the gun and start making calls make sure you check online status of your case. If it says we received your application on the date... most likely they are still working on it and you have nothing in the mail so sit tight and wait. Another scenario that happened to me and it is posted by me in the past posts that online status did not change until I got approved but... I was mailed a letter to submit additional evidence which is called RFE. After submitting additional docs my status online changed to "Your case was approved".

    Good luck

  4. I know it was the beginning of december 2016 and I got the card production status change on Wednesday, and it said the delivery would be made in a week but on thursday the mail service changed the status to that they received my card in my local usps facility and it was out for the deivery on friday and I got it around 3:30pm on friday which it took actually less than 48 hours after the status changed on the app that I was approved

  5. Leciga, basically you have to cover your story straight of 2 years. I guaranty they didn't like the fact that you guys have very little in common to share. I sent tons of bank statements from our joint family account that both of our names on it and covers 2 years from the first submission, 20 pics covering the whole period, 3 letters from friends and family that witnessed our marriage the whole entire time, car insurances, phone bills that my wife shows as the authorized user, credit cards that we are authorized users for each of them, some forms from insurance that we had, tax transcripts that we filled jointly etc. and it wasn't enough. So they sent RFE asking for w2's because tax transcripts are not enough, lease or mortgage which I did have but I lost it it and my landlord wrote a letter stating that we live together from the date till now etc. so we included all that, + gym membership with both of our names on it, also during the waiting time we financed a vehicle on both of our names on it so we also included that and a couple more statements from people that witnessed our marriage and some other things like insurance forms that we submitted to other companies etc. and 4 weeks later I got approved. Make sure to scramble everything you've got, write your own statement explainig the situation, have your hubby do a separate one as well. Don't over explain it because you not living together is a red flag right there and than.

  6. F1H1|130 that letter is a proof of status and has an expiration date on it. It is an extension for your conditional residency and the card. If you don't apply to remove conditions and your green card expires you lose your status. That's why you can apply 90 before the card expires and if you don't you are out. Letter works exactly the same way. It is a proof of status that's why it says this is an extension for 1 year for your conditional residency, from : to : . That's why you have to get an info pass and get a stamp in your passport to extend it again. If not, how are you gonna prove your status? In no way you won't be able to. What if police officer stops you and asks to prove you legal status here? They don't do that in California for now but in other states they do. And if you show your expired papers for the officers they will throw you right in a front of immigration judge and they are allowed to keep you in jail till they make sure you have pending application and you are legal and than you will have to explain yourself why didn't you go and get an infopass in a front of judge. You will have to prove your status anyway and bring all the paperwork for the judge in court. and if you didn't get an infopass the judgement might be not the one you expected it to be because if you don't care why they should? Good luck

  7. If it comes close to the date when your letter will expire, it means your status will no longer be in effect after the date shown on the letter and you will placed on removal procedures. Before your letter expires Make no mistake and make an info pass at your local uscis office to get an extension. If you are placed on the list to remove you from the country your application will not matter and will be denied as well as you will be deported. All the info is on uscis website, read instructions carefully.
